  1. Afg 6-0published at 1 over

    Target 187 (DLS)

Oh, there's the edge - and it's just short of second slip! Kusal Mendis dives stretching his fingers, but he ends up parrying the ball away from him, and Shahzad can jog through for a single.

Hazratullah Zazai nutmegs a single through long leg and, despite not middling a single delivery, that's a healthy opening over for Afghanistan.

    What an opportunity for Afghanistan.

Whizzed in at the stumps, and firmly thumped down the pitch by Mohammad Shahzad.

It'll be Lasith Malinga to open the bowling.

    Cheers, Jamie. A valiant effort.

Here comes Mohammad Shahzad and Hazratullah Zazai.

Rashid Khan claimed 2-7 from 17.5 overs, with extras the second top-scorer for Sri Lanka with 35. Now as the striking figure of Shahzad marches down the pavilion steps, here's Amy Lofthouse to describe the Afghanistan innings.

Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi: "I tried my best to turn on this pitch, loop a lot, and trying my best to bowl on the good areas. We will try our best to achieve these total and not give away a lot of wickets to the opposition team."

Just 4.56 an over for Afghanistan to score then. One bowler will be able to send down a maximum of nine overs for the Sri Lankans. Let's hear from Afghanistan spinner Mohammad Nabi, who took three wickets in an over and finished with 4-30 from his nine.

Afghanistan had a bad first 10 overs but they got their act together very quickly. The crowd is up and the players are marching off the field, shoulders back, chest out.

  11. Afghanistan to chase 187published at 16:16 British Summer Time 4 June 2019

Now there will only be a 10-minute break before the Afghanistan innings begins - and they will have a revised target of 187 from 41 overs under the DLS system. I'm not sure why either.

Sri Lanka were 144-1. A remarkable collapse.

Pradeep b Rashid 0 (SL 201 all out)

Nuwan Pradeep is the last man and he has only 27 runs from his 16 ODI innings. Unsurprisingly, the skills of Rashid Khan are too much for him, he is bamboozled and bowled.

Fuller has got to be better, on the evidence of that over! An excellent slower ball yorker.

    Malinga b Dawlat 4 (SL 199-9)

This one is too good for Malinga though, a slower ball yorker and it gets through. Only one wicket left for the Sri Lankans now.

It's poor bowling - telegraphed, slamming it in about halfway down, and Dawlat doesn't have the pace.

That was a horrible looking hoick and yet it was mighty effective.

  18. SL 198-8published at 35.3 overs

Lakmal hooking happily as Dawlat drops short. It's ungainly but two fours in three balls will always help the cause.

Rashid is one of four or five cricketers in this tournament that would get into every side.

  20. SL 190-8published at 35 overs

As the Afghan contingent cheer on, face paint undiminished by the rain, Rashid ruffles his luxuriant quiff as Malinga just manages to get a bottom edge on a googly. Only a single conceded in the over though. Six left for the final two Sri Lankan wickets.
