You've got to bowl that Test match, fuller length. I want to see England challenging the forward defensive of both Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis. If it is going to nip, it will nip from that fuller ball, not that pretty, back of a length, bowling.

Jofra Archer was born in Barbados to a British father and played for West Indies Under-19s.

He qualified to play for England in March this year and made a stunning surge into their World Cup squad.

But he says this game against West Indies has no extra significance.

It looks a good toss to win but this wicket, I was amazed how dry it was, considering the rain that's been around.

They're good conditions - West Indies will have to bat, and bat well, and bat sensibly. You can't expect to go out and blast from ball one.

Chris Gayle is still a match-winner. You only have to look at the last one-day series against England. The power he’s got, there are not many players in the world who can single-handedly win you a 50-over game.

England will obviously want to get him early. The battle with him and Jofra Archer, with his genuine pace and the heavy bat Chris Gayle uses, is an opportunity.

Chris Podd: Who else is nervous?

Stuart Mitchell: Bowling first was the correct call for the conditions. The fact England like chasing is a bonus. Hopefully Gayle out early.

Chris Brown: There’s actual sunshine for today!

West Indies captain Jason Holder: "It's an opportunity for our guys to get some runs. I would've liked to bowl first on a fresh wicket.

"We're up for the occasion, we know what is at stake. We've planned well and everyone is up for it.

"It's a matter of adapting to the individuals we're playing against. It's all about the surface as well."

England captain Eoin Morgan: "The wicket has been under covers for the last 24 hours and we predict there might be a bit of moisture in early on, so hopefully we can take advantage of that. The World Cup is all about turning up on the day, adapting to conditions and hopefully winning."
