Martyn Allen: If Afghanistan can take India's scalp here (big 'if'), it will lessen the blow of England's result yesterday, and both games will make the tournament all the more interesting. The results were starting to get a bit predictable.

Jadhav c N A Zadran b Gulbadin 52 (Ind 223-8)
A very scratchy innings ends in feeble fashion! Kedar Jadhav finally tries to attack one but he picks out the fielder at extra cover.

On comes the physio.

It was risky bowling but good bowling. It was almost above head height but because Pandya has hit it it is out.
Pandya c Ikram b Aftab Alam 7 (India 217-6)
Pandya tries to cut it towards third man, but only succeeds in edging it high through to the keeper with an ugly effort.

Ibrahim: Can someone explain to me why Afghanistan keep on giving Alam overs? He has a terrible economy today and they could have comfortably gotten through these overs without him.

Jack Tanner: Has the result yesterday sparked this World Cup to life?
Jadhav 47 Pandya 4
Time is not on India's side, and despite some big-looking shots they can't reach the boundary.
Are we set for another low-scoring thriller?

Luca: Thing of beauty watching these Afghan spinners at work. The batsmen haven't a scooby how to play them.
