    Leicestershire 89-1 v Gloucestershire

Neil Dexter and Ryan HigginsImage source, Rex Features

A full session of 30 overs - 19 more than in Leicestershire's entire match against Middlesex last week - and the home side have recovered well after losing Paul Horton for a duck early on.

Neil Dexter has struck 13 fours in his 63 not out off 81 balls, with Hasan Azad making a patient 26 at the other end.

Chadd Sayers claimed the only wicket to fall, when he had Horton caught behind.

  2. wicket

WICKET Robinson c Duckett b Ball 9published at 13:01 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Kent 105-5 v Notts - Lunch

Ollie Robinson is the fifth batsman to depart in what has become a dreadful morning session for Kent.

After a quick juggle in the slips, Ben Duckett made the catch off the bowling of Jake Ball, who picks up his first wicket of the day.

Robinson departed shortly before lunch, with Zak Crawley the one bright spot for Kent, with his 54 accounting for more than half of the total.

They will need him to continue to stand firm after lunch but perhaps more importantly, he will need someone to stick with him long enough to allow a decent score to be posted.

  3. Yorkshire pair settling inpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Yorkshire 28-1 v Warwickshire

Easy picking for Yorkshire at Clifton Park as Will Fraine flicks Oliver Hannon-Dalby down to fine leg for four, and Gary Ballance strokes a half-volley away for another boundary in the same over. Ten overs gone now, and Warwickshire persists with OHD and new-ball partner Liam Norwell.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Zak Crawleypublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Kent 95-4 v Notts

The Kent opener has seen several partners come and go but has now reached his half-century and every one of those runs is invaluable to the home side in their current predicament.

  5. wicket

WICKET S Cook lbw Abbott 1published at 12:52 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 214

Aaron Beard and Kyle AbbottImage source, Rex Features

What a turnaround at Chelmsford. Essex lose their last seven wickets for 45 runs in less than 17 overs after resuming on 147-3 and their first-innings lead is restricted to 96.

Number 11 Sam Cook becomes the fifth lbw victim of the morning as Hampshire paceman Kyle Abbott finishes with 4-54.

Now what can the visitors do with the bat? Hopefully a bit more than they managed on day one or this game could be over today.

  6. wicket

WICKET ten Doeschate c Alsop b Edwards 12published at 12:48 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 214-9

This game is moving along at what we believe the horse racing cognoscenti call a 'healthy clip'.

Fidel Edwards again finds movement through the air, but the ball was so wide of off stump, Ryan ten Doeschate should really have left it alone.

As it is, the Essex skipper goes for a thrash and only succeeds in edging to the keeper.

Almost done and dusted for the Essex first innings - and it looks like they may have to settle for a single batting point.

  7. wicket

WICKET Beard b Edwards 2published at 12:41 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 210-8

    Aaron BeardImage source, Rex Features

Superb bowling by Fidel Edwards, who fizzes down an inswinging yorker that is way too good for Aaron Beard. Ryane ten Doeschate is still there on 11 as he is joined by Jamie Porter. The lead is 92 and this has been an excellent fightback by the visitors.

  8. wicket

WICKET Kuhn b Fletcher 9published at 12:36 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Kent 86-4 v Notts

Another one for Fletcher! After removing Bell-Drummond for nine, he has done the same to Heino Kuhn who becomes the latest Kent batsman to fail to reach double figures.

Only Zak Crawley has made it into double digits and Kent are well and truly wobbling.

In last week's 10-wicket defeat to Somerset, Kent were bowled out in 67.1 overs - are they heading for something similar here?

  9. Brighter scene at Yorkpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Yorkshire 9-1 v Warwickshire

The rain has passed at Clifton Park and play will resume at 12:45, but 13 overs have been lost from the opening day's allocation. Will Fraine and Gary Ballance have yet to score. Lunch has been put back to 13:30.

  10. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Neil DexterImage source, Rex Features

Leicestershire have recovered from the loss of Paul Horton in the fourth over against Gloucestershire. They are now 68-1, with Neil Dexter having just reached his half-century, with the help of 10 fours.

There has been no play so far between Derbyshire and leaders Lancashire, and the umpires have announced a further inspection at 13:30.

On day two at Radlett, Middlesex are now 231-4 following the recent dismissal of Sam Robson (see 12:25 entry). Paul Stirling is still there on 56 not out.

  11. wicket

WICKET Robson c Cullen b Labuschagne 107published at 12:25 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Middlesex 223-4 v Glamorgan

Australian Marnus Labuschagne comes on for his first bowl of the game and his third delivery account for Sam Robson, who is caught behind from a thin edge.

The Middlesex opener batted for two minutes short of five hours, faced 198 deliveries and hit 10 fours. It's the 22nd first-class hundred of his career.

Robson's partnership with Paul Stirling added 89 for the fourth wicket.

  12. wicket

WICKET Bell-Drummond lbw Fletcher 9published at 12:20 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Kent 74-3 v Notts

Big blow for Kent as Luke Fletcher traps Daniel Bell-Drummond lbw for 9.

Bell-Drummond had been providing steady support for Zak Crawley, but his innings comes to an end in just 53 minutes, in which time he added nine runs to the total.

That was Fletcher's 21st County Championship wicket of the season.

  13. 50 runs

for Paul Stirlingpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Middlesex 220-3 v Glamorgan

Paul Stirling has played some fine strokes this morning and two successive fours through the covers off Timm van der Gugten carry him to a 93-ball fifty at Radlett.

Sam Robson is still there on 105 not out and their partnership is now worth 86.

  14. wicket

WICKET Harmer lbw Abbott 4published at 12:19 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 203-7

This is an impressive spell by Kyle Abbott and he beats Simon Harmer all ends up with one that cuts back sharply and is rewarded with the fourth leg-before decision of the morning.

So, two wickets in the over for the South African, who now has figures of 30-48.

Aaron Beard comes out to join captain Ryan ten Doeschate, who is the key figure now if Essex are to extend this lead by a significant amount.

  15. Crawley going along nicelypublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Kent 69-2 v Notts

Kent opener Zak Crawley is keeping the scoreboard turning over nicely at Tunbridge Wells.

His 38 from 54 balls has included eight boundaries, with Daniel Bell-Drummond at the other end, adopting a slightly more measured approach with nine from 36.

  16. wicket

WICKET Wheater lbw Abbott 4published at 12:15 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 203-6

Two wickets in successive overs for Kyle Abbott at Chelmsford.

Adam Wheater is the latest to go, following Ravi Bopara's earlier example by being lbw offering no stroke.

New batsman Simon Harmer - a star with the ball on the opening day - finally secures their first batting point with a cover drive for four.

  17. wicket

WICKET Lawrence lbw Abbott 57published at 12:05 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Hampshire 118 v Essex 195-5

    Kyle AbbottImage source, Rex Features

Hampshire's bowlers are doing their level best to haul the team back into this game, and Kyle Abbott nips one back off the seam to trap Dan Lawrence leg-before.

Adam Wheater is the new batsman is gets off the mark with a well-timed clip off his legs for four.

  18. rain stops play

Rain hold-up at Yorkpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Yorkshire 9-1 v Warwickshire

Just two further deliveries following the dismissal of Adam Lyth at Clifton Park and the players are off because of rain.

Let's hope this will be the last shower we see today because the staff at York CC have pulled out all the stops in terms of preparations for the city's first Championship game since 1890.

  19. 100 runs

for Sam Robsonpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Middlesex 200-3 v Glamorgan

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

    Sam RobsonImage source, Rex Features

Middlesex opener Sam Robson reached his first Championship century of the season off 190 balls, including 10 fours, as the home side continued to build a solid base against Glamorgan on day two in Radlett.

It’s been a fine example of the opener’s art in four-day cricket with all his partners looking less assured.

Paul Stirling played and missed numerous times against Graham Wagg at the other end before eventually getting going.

We have bright and breezy weather replacing yesterday’s cloudy conditions, but with the possibility of a thunderstorm on day three, we may end up with just a battle for bonus points.

  20. wicket

    WICKET Lyth c Ambrose b Hannon-Dalby 7published at 11:57 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Yorkshire 8-1 v Warwickshire

    Oliver Hannon-DalbyImage source, Rex Features

Warwickshire showed how highly they regard Oliver Hannon-Dalby by giving the 29-year-old a two-year contract extension a few days ago.

And he has the first wicket of the game at Clifton Park with a short of a length delivery which finds the edge and keeper Tim Ambrose moves to his left to take the catch in front of first slip.

Gary Ballance is the new batsman for Yorkshire/
