  1. Weather outlookpublished at 10:38 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

Nothing should be taken for granted after last week's widespread downpour meant all matches were drawn apart from Division One leaders Somerset's dash-between-the-raindrops victory over Kent.

So, après le déluge, how much cricket will we see in the latest round of Championship games?

BBC forecaster Simon King's helpful graphics below suggest the words 'glorious sunshine' would be misplaced - but fingers crossed, eh.

  3. Championship returns to Yorkpublished at 10:32 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

Yorkshire v Warwickshire (play starts 11:00 BST)

"For our membership, York is our second largest catchment area outside Leeds. The fact it is a one-off will capture the imagination of the public."

Those were the words of Yorkshire chief executive Mark Arthur last November, when it was confirmed Championship cricket would be returning to York for the first time since 1890.

Let's hope the game at Clifton Park 'pulls in the punters' - and they will be able to root for one of their own (no, not England's Test captain) as batsman Jack Leaning has played for York on and off for six years.

“I think there’s quite a few of my friends and family coming down, so hopefully I can get a big score and a win because that would be a very proud moment," he told the Yorkshire website.

  4. Good morningpublished at 10:27 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    All aboard the imaginary charabanc.

We have packed the egg and cress sandwiches, scotch eggs and jars of gentleman's relish in a wicker basket and are off down some of county cricket's roads less frequently travelled, to places including Radlett, Royal Tunbridge Wells, York and Kidderminster.

Two games began yesterday, four more start today and another week of Championship action beckons.

Welcome to our coverage. Play starts at 11:00 BST.
