  2. Weather round-uppublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

Let's bring you up to date with where there is play and where there isn't.

It is raining at Taunton, Edgbaston and The Oval - but at the moment, play should resume after tea in the game between Kent and Hampshire at Canterbury.

In Division Two, play has already been abandoned for the day at Hove and Bristol, it is raining at Lord's, and they are off for bad light at Leicester.

Play has, though, resumed at the Riverside, with Durham continuing their first innings against Glamorgan.

  3. Day one final session begins at Riversidepublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 140-4 v Glamorgan

30 overs left - but we're unlikely to get through that many in this light.

BJ Watling resumes on 60 not out with debutante Solomon Bell, yet to get off the mark having only faced three balls before the break.

Michael Hogan will bowl from the Lumley End.

  4. Durham to resume on 140-4published at 16:20 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 140-4 v Glamorgan

Frustration for Glamorgan - who need to wrap this innings up quickly and rack up more bonus points to keep pressure on third-placed Gloucestershire in the promotion race.

  6. Rain ends play early at Hovepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Sussex 150-5 v Worcestershire

Just 50.4 overs possible in the day at Hove, with Worcestershire delighted to have removed Delray Rawlins for 58 just before the rain set in.

After struggling to 32-3 at the start of their innings, Sussex appeared to be turning the game around as Rawlins and Stiaan van Zyl (56) added 94 for the fourth wicket.

But they are both gone and it will be up to home skipper Ben Brown and inexperienced Tom Clakr to try and rebuild again on the second morning.

  7. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

Away from Bristol and the Riverside - here's the latest on our other Division Two games:

Leicestershire struck early against Lancashire before bad light halted play at Grace Road.

Keaton Jennings was bowled first ball by Chris Wright.

The visitors reached 2-1 before the delay after bowling out their hosts for 155.

    Richard Gleeson finished with 6-43.

Middlesex reached 176-3 against Derbyshire at Lord's before rain stopped play.

Sam Robson just missed out on a century after being caught behind off Alex Hughes for 93.

Rain is also holding up play at Hove where Sussex are 150-5 against Worcestershire.

Stiaan van Zyl and Delray Rawlkins both made 50s. Two wickets each for Ed Barnard and Charlie Morris.

  8. Hants on top at Canterburypublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Kent 147 v Hampshire 53-1 - tea

We reach tea at the Spitfire Ground as Tom Alsop turns the final ball of a Darren Stevens away behind square for four, taking Hampshire's total past 50.

Alsop advances to 38 not out and Felix Organ is on nine - and even at this early stage of the game, Hampshire are well-placed to secure a third-place finish behind Essex and Somerset.

  9. Tea at Riversidepublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    140-4 v Glamorgan

The new batswman is debutante Solomon Bell - who plays out the rest of David Lloyd's over to see Durham through to tea four down.

A good session overall for Durham and the pressure is on Glamorgan to force the pace in a game they must win well to have a chance of promotion.

  10. wicket

WICKET Jennings b Wright 0published at 16:04 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Leicestershire 155 v Lancashire 0-1

Keaton Jennings was a member of the England Test squad as recently as last winter - but faces a long road back following the selection of Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley fior the tour to New Zealand.

His final game of the summer may not be a happy one as he is tucked up for room by Chris Wright's first delivery and can only chop onto his stumps.

At least he'll have a second innings to redeem himself - or will he? If Lancashire achieve a big total here, probably not.

  11. Bad light stops play at the Ovalpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Surrey 246-2 v Notts

The players on both sides look reluctant to come off but the light is deemed to be unfit to continue.

The umpires are staying out in the middle- presumably to take another light meter reading.

The covers are coming on so there's also concern about rain.

In theory 26 overs are left before stumps. In practice we may be done for the day.

  12. wicket

WICKET Burnham c Root b Lloyd 16published at 15:58 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 140-4 v Glamorgan

Jack Burnham is late on the block and a bit surprised by the bounce as he edges David Lloyd straight to Billy Root at gully.

    A much-needed breakthrough for Glamorgan.

  13. Close of play at Bristolpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Gloucs 80-6 v Northants

Sadly the weather forecast has proved to be wholly accurate in this promotion clash and it doesn't look great for tomorrow either.

    Bring a brolly.

Just two more points needed for Northants to move up to Division One.

    Gloucestershire need nine.

  14. Half-century for Watlingpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 140-3 v Glamorgan

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Glamorgan put Durham in at lunchtime following a delayed start due to overnight rain. But they have only managed the one bowling point so far, thanks to stubborn resistance from BJ Watling and Alex Lees.

Lees eventually fell for 45, leaving a ball that nipped back in from Michael Hogan and struck his front pad. It was a poor judgement of error and ended a stand of 62 for the third wicket with Watling.

The New Zealand international went on to reach 50 in first-class cricket for the 70th time though and now has 60. Tea will be taken at 4.00pm.

  15. Glamorgan press for fourth wicketpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 140-3 v Glamorgan

Just the one bonus point for Glamorgan so far and poor weather likely to be a factor from tomorrow.

David Lloyd bowls and Jack Burnham pushes defensively into the off side.

No threat here for the Durham batsmen.

  16. Boundary flurry for Hantspublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Kent 147 v Hampshire 41-1

Tom Alsop finds the boundary from three successive deliveries by Harry Podmore - and there is one for Felix Organ in the next over as he cover drives Matt Milnes.

He is nine not out and Also has 26 from 27 balls, but Darren Stevens is now back into the attack, relieving Podmore.

  17. Division Two round uppublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

Lancashire are in complete control at Grace Road - where Leicestershire are 155-9.

    Richard Gleeson has 5-43.

Middlesex are 175-3 against Derbyshire at Lord's.

Sam Robson just missed out on a century after being caught behind off Alex Hughes for 93.

Rain is holding up play at Hove where Sussex are 150-5 against Worcestershire.

Stiaan van Zyl and Delray Rawlkins both made 50s. Two wickets each for Ed Barnard and Charlie Morris.

Wonder how many games of garden cricket Callum and Matt Parkinson played while they were growing up?

On this occasion, it's England new boy Matt who comes out on top, as he wins an lbw decision against his sibling.

If it was up to us, Callum would make Matt pay for dinner this evening.
