  2. Glamorgan under pressure in must-win game for promotionpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 15-3 v Glamorgan

Glamorgan captain and keeper Chris Cooke is at full stretch to his left to prevent byes as Marchant de Lange drifts down the leg side.

Jack Burnham pushes Lukas Carey into the off side and sprints a single at the other end.

The weather is likely to disrupt most or even all of Tuesday's play and Glamorgan need to wrap up this innings as quickly as possible.

A halt in play now as the ball is going to be changed. We're in the 43rd over.

  4. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Surrey 222-2 v Notts

I wonder how many Richie Benaud impersonations we've had in the press box today.

We had an early tea here after bad light halted play shortly after 1500 BST.

Scott Borthwick (91*) and Ollie Pope (72*) are back in the middle - both with hopes of plundering more runs on a fairly benign surface.

    Matt Carter will bowl.

  5. No resumption at Tauntonpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Somerset 75-4 v Essex

They've been off since just after 12:15 at Taunton - but is the raining finally easing off a bit?

Marchant de Lange is driven to mid-on by Watling. No run.

He angles his bat to nudge the ball to third man for two.

  7. wicket

WICKET Holland c Crawley b Podmore 0published at 15:23 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Kent 147 v Hampshire 7-1

On the day of his call-up by England, Zak Crawley might not have scored any runs, but he makes his mark in the field for Kent by getting down superbly at third slip to remove Iain Holland for a duck.

Harry Podmore is the successful bowler - wicket number 52 of the season for him.

  9. wicket

WICKET Loten c Rhodes b Thomson 58published at 15:16 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Yorkshire 261-2 v Warwickshire - tea

Very much Yorkshire's afternoon at Edgbaston, but it ends with the wicket of Tom Loten, who is none too impressed to be given out caught at slip.

He stands his ground while the umpires consult before sending him on his way, ending a second wicket partnership of 184 with Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who remains on 165 not out.

Kohler-Cadmore has hit a six and 26 fours so far, and none more handsome than the lofted off-drive which brought him a boundary off Jeetan Patel in the previous over.

  10. Watling and Burnham at the crease for Durhampublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 110-3 v Glamorgan

A brace of fours for BJ Watling off Marchant de Lange - as the batsman clips behind square leg and then drives through point.

Jack Burnham picks up a couple of runs off Lukas Carey at the other end.

Glamorgan are under pressure to rack up maximum bonus points for the best chance of promotion.

  11. Tea at the Ovalpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Surrey 222-2 v Notts

And with that little landmark in the bag - the umpires have ruled that the light isn't good enough to carry on and we're off for tea.

Surrey in complete command on a batsman-friendly pitch.

This is going to be very hard work for Notts - who remember are on their last chance to win a Championship game this season.

  12. Borthwick-Pope stand passes 150published at 15:05 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Surrey 222-2 v Notts

Pope is back and across to slap Matt Carter through point for one.

That's the 150 partnership with Scott Borthwick in 257 balls.

Liam Patterson-White is worked into the on side by Borthwick. That's all the twos. 222-2.

  13. 50 runs

for Tom Lotenpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Yorkshire 240-1 v Warwickshire

Tom Loten takes two steps down the pitch and steers ball from Jeetan Patel away to third man for four to reach a half-century in his first Championship innings off 142 balls.

So what can we tell you about young Mr Loten? He has played age group cricket for Yorkshire from Under-13s upwards, stands about 6ft 5 and a half ins tall and made his senior debut in a One-Day Cup game against Durham in May, which ended as a no-result because of rain.

WICKET Milnes c Holland b Dawson 11published at 15:01 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Kent 147 v Hampshire

Hampshire call up Liam Dawson for the first over of spin in Kent's first innings and he needs just five deliveries to end it as Matt Milnes comes down the track and obligingly miscues to mid-on. Mitch Claydon is left 10 not out in his final game for the home side before moving along the coast to Sussex in 2020.

  15. Durham rebuild after two early wicketspublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Durham 100-2 v Glamorgan

Marchant de Lange floats a ball up to BJ Watling wide of off stump and the batsman drives through point for four to take Durham to 100 in the 35th over.

  16. 150 runs

for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Yorkshire 236-1 v Warwickshire

Tom Kohler-Cadmore can be a very damaging batsman when he's in the zone - as Warwickshire have found out today. A single off Oliver Hannon-Dalby takes him to 150 from just 165 balls and he celebrates with the 24th boundary of his innings later in the over, carved away powerfully through point.

  17. Notts turn to spin on placid Oval pitchpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Surrey 217-2 v Notts

A few eyebrows may very well be raised at the Oval... No place in the England Test squad for Ben Foakes.

Spin at both ends now as Liam Patterson-White and Matt Carter are bowling in tandem.

Matt Carter appeals for lbw against Pope - who tries to run and is sent back by Borthwick. Not out.

    Mewanwhile... Mmm. Cake.

  18. Early tea at Tauntonpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

    Somerset 75-4 v Essex

It's a gloomy scene at Taunton in all senses of the word.

The umpires have ordered an early tea to be taken.

Will we see any more play in the title decider today?

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 23 September 2019

Away from Bristol and the Riverside, here's the latest in our Division Two games:

Lancashire chose to bowl first at Grace Road and they've siezed control over Leicestershire - who are in big trouble on 131-7.

Harry Dearden was the seventh batsman out - bowled by Matthew Parkinson for 30.

    Richard Gleeson has five wickets.

Middlesex are 146-2 at Lord's against Derbyshire.

Sam Robson is 84 not out.

Rain delayed play at Hove between Sussex and Worcestershire - where only seven balls were bowled beforehand.

But that was enough to dislodge Luke Wells - who was caught behind off Ed Barnard for a duck.

Sussex have resumed batting and have recovered to 144-4 - with Delray Rawlins unbeaten on 54.
