Rakheem Cornwall is great for the over-rate, he whistles through his overs.

  3. Eng 37-1published at 18 overs

Joe Root brings out the lap sweep and picks up three before Rory Burns guides past slip for a couple.

West Indies bring in a second slip to prevent that stroke and Burns defends the last.

Runs for England there - seven off the over.

Shannon Gabriel is doing some pilates at mid-on now. I did some in my room last night, actually.

  5. Eng 32-1published at 17.2 overs

Erm. Not very Dom Sibley from Joe Root as he tries to hoick Rahkeem Cornwall round the corner but misses.

That's pure Joe Root next up though as he rocks back and glides it through backward point for a couple. Lovely stuff.

Rufus: This West Indian spinner Cornwall looks like the kind of guy who bowls all day for his club seconds. 28 overs, 4 for 19.

  11. Eng 27-1published at 16 overs

Rory Burns slides one off a thick outside edge through gully for a couple.

He's getting forward and planting his front pad but has to make sure he gets bat on it or risk the lbw.

Rahkeem Cornwall tosses the last up a bit wider and it turns sharply but Burns wisely opts against playing.

Joe Root's five from 35 balls is his lowest total after that many balls since August 2013.

I reckon Jason Holder bowls a bit safe now and then. With the new ball and the lights on he's got to bring Joe Root forward. He's almost got to say to Root 'can you drive one down the ground?'. Almost dangle the carrot and he's just a little bit safe, it looks nice and it's building pressure.

  14. Eng 25-1published at 15 overs

    Burns 15, Root 5

Yet another maiden from Jason Holder, who has conceded just three runs from his five overs.

Mike Bell: I can certainly comment on a great accessory CARRIED by a cricketer. Nottinghamshire once batted on and on and on in a County Championship match against Lancashire in the 1960s. Harry Pilling ran off between overs, and came back on at mid-wicket reading a newspaper.

Ohh, that's nice. That's lovely. It's the first time he got the right length and a bit of dip. That is sharp spin.

  18. Eng 25-1published at 14 overs

    Hello.

Rahkeem Cornwall rips a beauty past Rory Burns' outside edge.

A fine start from the spinner from the James Anderson end, finding turn early on day one.

Rahkeem Cornwall was ragging them miles when he was bowling in warm-up this morning. He's efficient, let's say. He doesn't have much of a run-up but he gives it a chance.

    Here he is.

Rahkeem Cornwall is on for the first time in his third Test.

    The 6ft 6in, 22-stone Antiguan is a very handy off-spinner.
