Keep an eye on the light. It's murky at Old Trafford, and we're close to the stage where you'd think they wouldn't return after tea were it not for the floodlights. In theory we can play until 1830 to get the overs in, but you wonder is the darkness might draw in before then.

    Cheers Callum.

Another excellent day of Test cricket so far - and a day I didn't think we'd have given the forecast earlier in the week.

Can England really press home their advantage in the final session?

Shamarh Brooks was impressive at Old Trafford and Roston Chase has played well numerous times in this series but you can't help but feel that if England break this partnership quickly after the interval then they are capable of ripping through this West Indies side and reducing them to a lowly score.

England's only aberration was Ben Stokes dropping John Campbell, which cost them some time and a few runs.

West Indies dominated the first hour of the day but since then England have been firmly in control of this Test match.

Roston Chase plays out a maiden from Chris Woakes to end the afternoon session.

England will be delighted with that I'd have thought. West Indies still trail by 310 - they are going to need a big partnership to fight their way back into this game.

That is infuriating for Shai Hope after he worked so hard to get to 17. He batted well but just couldn't make many inroads.

    Hope c Buttler b Anderson 17 (WI 58-3)

    Beautiful from James Anderson!

It is the perfect line and most importantly length. He angles the ball in, from wide on the crease, and there's a little bit of movement away from Shai Hope and he has to play at it. He gets a little feather on it and Jos Buttler takes a good low catch down to his right.

That's 588 Test wickets for Anderson now. England are on top.
