  1. STUMPS at Edgbaston - Somerset need four wickets to winpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

    Warks 121 & 104-6 v Somerset 413-9

Well, the slightly early finish will mildly annoy Somerset but with the weather set fair for Tuesday, they will fancy the job of completing a third successive Bob Willis Trophy victory at Warwickshire's expense.

It has been a memorable day for Jamie Overton - claiming his maiden first-class century with six sixes amid a swashbuckling 120 that, along with Steve Davies' slightly more serene 123, helped Somerset declare on 413.

Josh Davey has since took 3-19 while Lewis Gregory took the vital wicket of Bears skipper Will Rhodes just before rain intervened to leave Warwickshire 188 runs adrift and needing a miracle - or rain - to avoid an innings defeat.

They also have an injury worry over batsman Matt Lamb (toe) so Somerset might only need three wickets, not four on the final day.

    Nottinghamshire 472 v Lancashire 86-4

There are potentially another 17 overs left to play at Trent Bridge.

Steven Mullaney strays onto the pads of Dane Vilas, who collects four through the leg-side to advance to 23 not out - with partner Steven Croft on 15 at the other end.

    Worcs 219 & 169-5 v Northants 212

This game has the makings of a thrilling end tomorrow.

Tom Fell is strolling along on 76 for the Pears who now lead by 176 courtesy of their slender first-innings advantage.

Home win, away win, draw, tie - this one could go any of four ways on day four. But there's still a bit of time left on day three yet.

    Surrey 172 v Hampshre 174-2

Hampshire are into the lead at Arundel Castle with Sam Northeast lifting the tempo after completing a half-century. He has moved along to 71 not out - with 10 fours - and Tom Alsop has contributed 38 to their stand of 106.

    Sussex 194 & 36-1 v Essex 140

Phil Salt emerges from his torpor to clobber a short ball from Aaron Beard away for the first four of his innings. He is now 12 not out, with Harry Finch on 20 and the Sussex lead is 90.

    Robinson c Eskinazi b Andersson 17 (Kent 132-5 v Middlesex)

Middlesex skipper Stevie Eskinazi practices his juggling skills at first slip but gathers at the second attempt and Kent are five down.

It's not the cleanest catch but Middlesex won't care as Ollie Robinson departs for a patient 17, although the hosts still have Joe Denly very much in full flow on 63.

Just six overs of play left at Canterbury on this Monday evening.

WICKET - AND CLOSE OF INNINGSpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

    Glos 181 all out v Glamorgan 116

It's a first-innings lead of 65 for Gloucestershire in Cardiff - but, having been 74-2 at one stage, they will be disappointed not to have kicked on more.

Nonetheless, Glamorgan must bat again tonight and the visitors have the better chance of victory here.

Their final two wickets fell for no runs as Josh Shaw was caught at slip by Marchant de Lange (pictured) and David Payne was caught and bowled when trying to clear spinner Kieran Bull.

    Hughes c Olivier b Leech 13 (Yorks 400-6 dec v Derbys 152-5)

Not a great shot by Alex Hughes, who skies an attempted pull and is caught at mid-on off Dom Leech.

Derbyshire need another 49 to avoid the follow-on as Harvey Hosein comes out to bat - a very capable number seven.

    Sussex 194 & 29-1 v Essex 140

Normally, Sussex opener Phil Salt doesn't hang about - but he has five from 31 balls so far at the start of their second innings.

Instead, it;'s partner Harry Finch who is taking the attack to the bowlers with three off-side boundaries in his 18 off 21.

The home side lead by 83.

for Sam Northeastpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

    Surrey 172 v Hampshire 147-2

Sam Northeast made 51 for Hampshire against Middlesex last week - and now has another half-century after whipping Amar Virdi away for a single.

It has taken him 83 balls and featured six fours. His partnership with Tom Alsop is now worth 79.

    Rhodes c&b Gregory 41 (Warks 121 & 104-6 v Somerset 413-9)

Joy and then frustration for Somerset as they take the key wicket of Bears skipper Will Rhodes - but then have to leave the field because of rain!

The Bears captain's patient knock is ended by a nice bit of work from Lewis Gregory who pitches a tempter and is perfectly positioned to catch when Rhodes knocks it straight back down the wicket.

The shower is only a light one but it's enough to delay play - Somerset will want to get back on asap to finish the job and have another day off after their two-day triumph last week.

  12. Buck's not stopping herepublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

    Worcs 219 & 148-5 v Northants 212

And there's also been a quickfire brace at Wantage Road where Worcestershire have slipped from a comfortable 137-2 to a slightly concerning - from a Pears' perspective - 148-5.

Nathan Buck struck twice in the space of six deliveries to have Brett D'Oliveira caught behind for five and then this pearler to dismiss Riki Wessels - who hit 88 in the first innings - for five as well.

    Livingstone b Mullaney 14 (Notts 472 v Lancashire 59-4)

Steven Mullaney starts a new over at Trent Bridge and Liam Livingstone is gone. He tries to drive but the ball isn't quite there for the shot and cleans him up between bat and pad.

Steven Croft is the new batsman and Lancashire badly need a substantial partnership between him and Dane Vilas.

    Glos 177-8 v Glamorgan 116

A couple of wickets to update you on in South Wales including the departure of Ryan Higgins, just two runs short of his half-century on 48.

The Gloucestershire man goes for a big hit off spinner Kieran Bull but instead of a six, he's caught out by Marchant de Lange right on the rope. Wounder.

De Lange had struck with the ball a few overs earlier, having George Scott caught behind but the Gloucestershire lead is up to 63 and counting.

While it's fair to say Joe Denly has not always convinced for England, he always produces the goods for Kent - and that's another county half-century in the books.

He brings up the 50 with a classy little chip to the off side that runs away for four. His innings is giving Kent a decent chance of avoiding defeat to Middlesex here - whether they can win is another matter.

Denly only came back into the Kent fold recently after a back problem forced him to miss out on England's one-day squad.

Quick reactions here from Ricardo Vasconcelos to procure a smart catch to dismiss Worcestershire's Jack Haynes.

The Pears still very much in the box seat with only three down, you feel - but if Northants can follow this wicket up with another sharpish, the complexion of this game could change.

  18. Somerset stifled?published at 17:33 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

    Warks 121 & 90-5 v Somerset 413-9

Somerset have lost a bit of their length and line with the ball at Edgbaston and they have gone almost an hour without a wicket now - which must seem like a lifetime to them.

Warwickshire still have 24 overs to bat out to avoid defeat by an innings and a day though. A steady stand between Will Rhodes (33no) and Alex Thomson (9no) is aiding that aim.

The 15th wicket of the day falls at Hove.

Jamie Porter, who took five in Sussex's first innings strikes again as Tom Haines is squared up and edges to second slip Simon Harmer, who takes his fourth catch of the game.

    Sussex's lead is 61.

That's the one they wanted and suddenly Yorkshire have the collective bit between their teeth

Captain Steve Patterson finds bit of extra bounce, finds the edge and Jonny Bairstow takes what is a very fine catch standing up the stumps.

Billy Godleman faced 131 balls abnd hit 10 fours, but that's two wickets in successive overs for Patterson and 3-15 from 14 overs in all.
