  6. Bad light stops play (again) at The Ovalpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Surrey (171-4) trail Sussex (415) by 244 runs

And with the night sky getting a touch gloomier, the umpires order the players off again at The Oval after that mini session.

There's still 10 more overs scheduled to be bowled this evening, but we may well have seen the last of the action until the morning.

    We'll wait and see though...

  7. Postpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Glamorgan 193-9 v Warks 186

Late wicket for Warwickshire as skipper Will Rhodes bowls Lukas Carey for 23.

Glamorgan number 11 Michael Hogan comes in, his side are seven away from a batting point, his partner is 10 off a half-century and there are 27 balls until the close.

    So what does Hogan do?

    Swing and a miss.

  8. Surrey lose two more in two ballspublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Surrey (170-4) trail Sussex (415) by 245 runs

Oh dear! Surrey will be fuming now that they had to come back out and face more bowling in the south London gloom.

Rory Burns went first ball back to Jack Carson and now Henry Crocombe at the other end has taken two wickets in two balls for Sussex.

First he bowled Jamie Smith after he offered no stroke to one that nipped back and then he trapped nightwatchman Adam Finch leg before first ball.

Ben Foakes narrowly survives the hat-trick ball as he digs out an inswinging yorker!

  9. Scores level at Cardiffpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Glamorgan 186-8 v Warks 186

A couple from Lukas Carey takes Glamorgan to Warwickshire's first-innings total.

Carey is playing nicely on 19, joined by Billy Root on 40.

Five overs left at Sophia Gardens.

  10. Close of playpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Lancashire (219) lead Derbyshire (120-7) by 99 runs

And it's Stumps too in Liverpool.

Derbyshire recovered from 61-7 to finish day two on 120-7 after an unbroken 50-run partnership from Harvey Hosein (44) and Mattie McKiernan (19).

Lancashire still on top but Hosein has given the visitors an outside chance.

    Burns outImage source, Rex Features

First ball after they came back out from a delay for bad light and Rory Burns is trapped leg before for 103.

Sussex off-spinner Jack Carson gets the scalp after earlier picking up Scott Borthwick as well.

Burns is understandably frustrated and it's probably the first lapse in judgement he's made all innings.

  12. Stumps at New Roadpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200) trail Somerset (251 &16-1) by 67 runs

The light doesn't improve and that'll be close of play.

A great day for Somerset despite losing Ben Green late on.

  13. Not outpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancs 219 v Derbyshire 110-7

Lancashire appeal in vain as George Balderson thinks he's got Harvey Hosein leg before.

    Not out.

Derbyshire move to 110-7 and trail by 109 runs.

    Kent (170) trail Hampshire (191 & 108-5) by 129 runs

And that is stumps on a topsy-turvy day at the St Lawrence Ground.

Hampshire will finish it the happier you feel after they were right up against it at one stage in this second innings at just 23-5.

Lewis McManus (50 not out) and Tom Scriven (42 not out) have rescued them from the mire and may well have compiled a match-winning partnership worth 85.

  17. Bad light stops play at The Oval and Trent Bridgepublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Couple more games have also halted due to the darkening evening gloom.

They're off at Trent Bridge in the North Group match where Notts are 249-2 in reply to Durham's 294.

Ben Duckett is unbeaten on 146.

At The Oval meanwhile, Surrey have been held up at 169-1 in reply to Sussex's 415.

Scott Borthwick fell for 50, but Rory Burns (103 not out) has now been joined by non other than Hashim Amla (3 not out).

  18. Postpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Worc 200 v Somerset 251 & 16-1

No wait. I think we are going off. The Somerset batsmen leave the field but the Worcestershire fielders stay out there.

Nine overs and four balls, remaining in the day.

    Stand by.

  19. Postpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Worc 200 v Somerset 251 & 16-1

We could have a problem with bad light here at New Road too....

.....the umpires have a chat but we're carrying on for now.

Aaron Beard then took three of the six Middlesex second-innings wickets to fall in a good spell after tea.

The visitors will take a slender lead of 25 runs into the third day.
