  1. 100 runs

up for Derbyshirepublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancs 219 v Derbyshire 100-7

Well this looked unlikely before tea but Derbyshire have now managed to reach three figures.

Harvey Hosein (29) and Mattie McKiernan (16) have added 39 runs in 24 overs for the eighth-wicket partnership.

Slow-going, but exactly what Derbyshire need to do to stay in this game.

Worcestershire's single batting point against Somerset was the first the Taunton-based side have given up in the Bob Willis Trophy.

    Pretty incredible stat that.

Ben Duckett (135 not out) and Joe Clarke (68 not out) have broken the Nottinghamshire third-wicket record against Durham.

They've added 169 runs, beating the previous best of 140 from Jake Libby and Michael Lumb in a drawn game in Chester-le-Street in 2016.

But it should have been so different. Sean Dickson dropped Clarke at first slip when he was on 16 and Alex Lees put him down in the cordon seven runs later.

Notts are now 234-2 under the lights at Trent Bridge and look rather comfortable. They trail by 60 runs.

    White lbw b Harmer 23 (Essex 236 v Middlesex 138 & 120-6)

    HarmerImage source, Rex Features

Essex bag another wicket late in the day after Middlesex show some resistance.

Robbie White departs leg before to Simon Harmer for 23 to a ball that turns back sharply to him outside off.

That ends a partnership of 36 which had edged his side ahead. They lead by 22 runs with four wickets in hand.

  5. wicket

    Green b Leach 0 (Worc 200 v Somerset 251 & 4-1)

    Another twist at New Road!

Joe Leach bowls Ben Green for a duck.

He goes after 17 deliveries and I don't think he enjoyed a single one of them. The ball is moving out there.

Somerset skipper Tom Abell is the new man in. The lead is 55.

Surrey (160-0) trail Sussex (415) by 255 runs

    BurnsImage source, Getty Images

100 up for Surrey skipper Rory Burns on his return to county colours!

It's come off 112 balls and included 15 fours as he and Scott Borthwick (48 not out) continue to pile on a big opening stand for the hosts.

It's also his first first-class ton of the season after a frustrating time in England colours against both West Indies and Pakistan.

  7. Postpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancs 219 v Derbyshire 94-7

Derbyshire's eigth wicket is putting up a little resistance at Aigburth.

Harvey Hosein is on 26 from 98 balls while Mattie McKiernan has 14 from 61.

They still trail by 125 runs as they approach three figures.

  8. Notts pair make most of their chancespublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Nottinghamshire (217-2) trail Durham (294) by 77 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle at Trent Bridge

    ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

Durham have dropped catches today and it has cost them greatly.

Joe Clarke was put down in the slips on 16 and 23 and has now reached a fortuitous 50. It came with seven fours in 82 balls. Last week, he was put down on eight in a T20 at Durham and made 100.

His partnership with Ben Duckett is now worth 152, with Duckett making a chanceless 100 from 151 balls, which included 16 fours.

Notts 217-2 after Durham were dismissed this morning for 294.

  9. McManus & Scriven standing firm for Hampshirepublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Kent (170) trail Hampshire (191 & 74-5) by 95 runs

There's been a lull in the seemingly never-ending flurry of wickets at Canterbury now for a while.

Hampshire wicketkeeper Lewis McManus (36 not out) and young all-rounder Tom Scriven (22 not out) have dug in after coming together at 23-5 to add 51 so far for this sixth wicket.

McManus has had a life, but their lead is also slowly edging towards three figures.

    Yorkshire 36-2 v Leicestershire 124

Alea: I think Yorkshire can still get 90 points??

Yes I believe you're right Alea. But the chances of Yorkshire making 400+ and still having enough time to win seems unlikely. Should we be expecting some fireworks tomorrow then? Yorkshire have nothing to lose.

  11. Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Glamorgan 124-6 v Warks 186

Quick update from Cardiff and Ian Bell - in his last ever red-ball game - has just taken a brilliant catch at slip.

It's a fourth wicket for Liam Norwell as Callum Taylor edges to the five-time Ashes winner.

Glamorgan still trail Warwickshire by 62 runs.

  12. wicket

Worcestershire 200 all outpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Tongue b Davey 0 (Worcestershire 200 v Som 251)

Josh Davey bowls Josh Tongue for a duck to give Somerset a first-innings lead of 51.

The visitors in pole position in their chase for a place in the Bob Willis Trophy final.

Worcestershire collapsed from 121-1 to 200 all out as Craig Overton and Davey both took three wickets.

  13. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancs 219 v Derbys 79-7

We're back under way at Liverpool.

A big final session for Derbyshire's tail. The visitors trail Lancashire by a mammoth 140 with three wickets remaining.

  14. Qualification looks unlikely for Yorkshirepublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Now my maths has never been my strong point but I think if Somerset and Worcestershire were to draw their match, Somerset would collect 89 points.

Yorkshire can only reach 89 if they win their match and collect five batting bonus points.

But as I said, my maths has never been that great. Feel free to correct me using #bbccricket

  15. Scores level at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Essex (236) level with Middlesex (138 & 98-5)

John Simpson and Robbie White are doing their best to hang in there for Middlesex.

After some sloppy fielding from Essex gifts them some overthrows, they edge level with the hosts on the scoreboard.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Leach c Leach b Davey 6 (Worcestershire 190-9 v Som)

Josh Davey now has 101 first-class wickets as Joe Leach is caught by England's Jack Leach in the slips.

    Somerset are nearly there.

  17. 100 runs

for Ben Duckettpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Nottinghamshire 179-2 v Durham 294

    DuckettImage source, Rex Features

And Duckett does get his 18th first-class century coming off 153 balls with 16 fours.

A brilliant knock from the Nottinghamshire number three!
