  1. Back under way at Aigburthpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancashire 219 v Derbyshire17-4

    We're playing again in Liverpool!

Danny Lamb will complete his over with Matthew Critchley and Fynn Hudson-Prentice in the middle for Derbyshire.

The visitors need a massive turnaround if they want to make the Lord's final.

  2. 150 runs

up for Kentpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Kent 153-9 v Hamps 191

Frustrating last-wicket partnership from Hampshire's point of view as Kent pass the 150 total.

Marcus O'Riordan has 32 while number 11 Harry Podmore has 18.

They trail by just 39 now. Every run counts in these low scoring games!

  3. Holden makes strong startpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Essex (236) lead Middlesex (138 & 17-0) by 81 runs

Max Holden has come out of the blocks quickly for Middlesex in this second innings.

All 17 of their runs have gone to his name, including a pull shot for 6 off Jamie Porter.

  4. Another landmark at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Nottinghamshire (84-2) trail Durham (294) by 210 runs

We had Chris Rushworth's 500th first-class wicket earlier for Durham and now it's a batsman's turn to register a landmark.

Congratulations to Ben Duckett as he continues his first-innings knock for the hosts.

  5. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancashire 219 v Derbyshire 17-4

Update from Liverpool. We're hoping play will resume at 14:15.

It's absolutely chucking it down outside my house in Salford though with the bad weather heading west.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Stewart c Scriven b Wheal 4 (Kent 123-9 v Hamps 191)

Poor shot from Grant Stewart who chips the ball straight to square-leg.

Brilliant bowling from Hampshire today, terrible batting from Kent.

Although these low scores have effectively cancelled both sides out as final contenders

  7. Middlesex start second digpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Essex (236) lead Middlesex (138 & 0-0) by 98 runs

    EssexImage source, Getty Images

So Middlesex begin their second innings at Chelmsford 98 runs behind.

As I mentioned a moment ago, Essex now know they will only be able to pick up a maximum of 20 points with a win, which would take their overall group stage tally to 90.

Will that number be enough to book one of the two spots in the final?

Well, first of all, they've got to try and win this one.

  8. Rushworth joins three-man 500 clubpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Nottinghamshire (75-2) trail Durham (294) by 219 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle at Trent Bridge

Chris Rushworth has become the third bowler to take 500 first-class wickets for Durham.

He follows in the footsteps of the recently retired Graham Onions, who took a record 527 for the club and Simon Brown, who played one Test for England against Pakistan and took 518.

Haseeb Hameed was the victim, edging to Paul Coughlin who took a sharp and high chance at third slip.

  9. Essex dismissed for 236published at 13:39 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Essex (236) lead Middlesex (138) by 98 runs

All over in Essex's first innings as Jamie Porter is the last man to depart to Tim Murtagh for just 3.

Adam Wheater runs out of partners at the other end with an unbeaten 83 from 142 balls.

Essex take a first-innings lead of 98 runs, but potentially significant is the fact they are unable to pick up more than just the one batting bonus point.

We'll wait and see what that could mean for their chances of reaching the final as this game continues.

  10. 500 up for Chris Rushworth!published at 13:36 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Nottinghamshire (71-2) trail Durham (294) by 223 runs

Martin Emmerson teased it for us during the lunch break and now it's arrived!

Durham's Chris Rushworth picks up his 500th first-class career wicket as Haseeb Hameed falls for 21 at Trent Bridge.

  11. rain stops play

Rain stops play at New Roadpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Worcestershire 121-1 v Som 251

And now it's raining at New Road.

Worcestershire were starting to tick along nicely so they'll be slightly frustrated to go off so soon.

There's a band of rain heading over Worcester at the moment and the covers come on.

    Eek.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Stevens c Currie b Holland 0 (Kent 114-8 v Hampshire 191)

No Darren Stevens heroics with the bat sadly for Kent fans!

Hampshire's grip on this match at Canterbury continues to tighten as Ian Holland snaffles the all-rounder for a duck.

Scott Currie's whirlwind match continues as he takes a fine low catch in the gully.

Kent 114-8 and still 77 runs behind.

  13. It's raining again in Leeds!published at 13:28 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Yorkshire (36-2) trail Leicestershire (124) by 88 runs

    Oh dear!

Not what we wanted to hear from Headingley...

  14. 50 runs

for Jake Libbypublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Worcestershire 110-1 v Some 251

A brilliant fifty from Jake Libby has put Worcestershire in the driving seat in the Central Group.

It comes off 112 balls with seven fours and one six.

They trail Somerset's first-innings total by 141 runs with nine wickets in hand.

  15. Andersson does it again!published at 13:22 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Essex (227-9) lead Middlesex (138) by 89 runs

Martin Andersson picks up from where he left off before lunch for Middlesex.

He now has 4-34 for the visitors as Ryan ten Doeschate's innings of two parts comes to an end on 43.

John Simpson takes the catch from an outside edge and Essex's hopes of bagging a second batting bonus point look slim now.

WICKETpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Kuhn c Holland b Wheal 34 (Kent 107-7 v Hampshire 191)

Kent's batting woes continue after lunch against Hampshire as key man Heino Kuhn departs.

It's a very, very loose drive from the South African off Brad Wheal straight into the waiting hands of Ian Holland at extra cover.

Kent now 107-7 and still 84 runs behind.

  17. Weather watchpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

    Lancs 219 v Derbyshire 17-4

It's a drizzly sort of rain in Liverpool.

If we were on the field we'd play through it, but convincing the umpires to resume is a much trickier task.

Derbyshire trail Lancashire's first-innings total by 202 in this must-win match.

  18. Time to resumepublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Right - apart from at The Oval, Headingley and Aigburth - we're back out there for the afternoon session....

  19. Yorkshire hope to resume at 14:00 BSTpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 7 September 2020

Yorkshire (36-2) trail Leicestershire (124) by 88 runs

A further update for you from Headingley...

Stephen Grubb: (RE 11:56 post) On an lbw, always look at the wicket keeper. He's telling you everything you need to know...

Hmm that was big jump to the leg side. I'm guessing Stephen doesn't think Daryl Mitchell should've been given out earlier against Somerset's Lewis Gregory.
