Root was definitely telling the umpire that it went up towards the glove, so there was an immediate protest.
We've seen another replay of that Rahane non-dismissal. The batsman's finger moves! You didn't even need Ultra-edge. The third umpire just had to roll on the replay.
Anyway, it looks like India are going to play positively now. Ashwin charges Leach, taking two, and then Pant cuts for four.

David: That is one of the worst bits of umpiring I've ever seen, completely against protocols to not to look at the full clip through to the catch. It's not a bit of controversy, it was incompetency from both on field and TV umpire.
Dan: So England seemingly need to get batsmen out twice now?
Grant: People saying the Rahane debacle didn't cost England...it did, it cost them a review.
With the new ball due in four overs, England have the chance for a little fightback. They must not get distracted, as frustrating as that was/is.

I think Stokes is telling the umpire that he wants the review back. I'm not sure how that would work.
Ben Stokes is still not happy about the incident in the previous over. England may have taken the wicket but they have lost their review.

Cricket is never dull is it? All this drama and now England have two new batsmen in on nought.

I'm glad he didn't go on and get a big century. Because then that would have become the talking point of the game.

Rather like the Rohit one, it won't make a difference. I wonder if that was the shot of a guilty man.
Rahane b Moeen 67 (Ind 249-5)
He's out this time. Justice is done.
England get the wicket of Rahane a few balls after he should have been given. Rahane sweeps, misses the ball and sees his stumps clattered.

That was unbelievable that they didn't check that. It's out.
Oh it was out!! We've just seen the Ultra-edge England wanted to see. There's a spike.
The ball missed the bat, hit pad, looped up and hit glove but the umpire did not check.

England were definite, they reviewed it straight away. There was no discussion. A good decision from the umpire. I wasn't sure if Rahane was bluffing there a little bit.
Now they're checking lbw. That's not out too.
Root, still not happy, seems to be suggesting that the ball hit Rahane's glove after hit the pad. The third umpire has not checked that.
We're going to get back under way.
England aren't moving. They want this to checked again.
Rahane was never in any doubt. England aren't pleased about something...
There's no spike on Ultra-edge...
Rahane has definitely hit the ground and the ball has definitely hit pad. But did it hit the inside edge too?
