Keogh c Brook b Bess 6 (Northants 28-4 need 206 to beat Yorkshire)

Nothing like a close contest at the moment.

Dom Bess has his second wicket and the Northants chase has barely got going.

Keogh props forward, a little turn takes inside edge via the pad and the easiest catch for short-leg.

Yorkshire romping to victory at the moment.

    Notts 307 v Derbyshire 149 & 27-1

    Northants 170-9 & 19-3 v Yorkshire 158 & 217

Two in two overs for Yorkshire straight after the interval.

Charlie Thurston is superbly taken at short leg by Gary Ballance from the bowling of Steve Patterson - and Emilio Gay comes down the pitch to drive Dom Bess, but is caught at cover by Sam Northeast.

Northants have a tough task now to reach their target - and this result could be crucial to their hopes of progressing from Group Three.

Great start for Somerset straight after lunch as Marchant de Lange sends Colin Ackermann's off stump cartwheeling backwards. His 67 came off 160 balls and included 10 fours. Ben Mike is the new batsman.

  8. Foxes looking comfortable at Tauntonpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Somerset 461-9 v Leicestershire 177- 4 - lunch

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

With Somerset losing their skipper and main strike bowler to the replacement England ODI squad, all the talk here at Taunton has been of what that, and the similar losses of personnel suffered mid-match by other counties, says about the ECB's attitude to the County Championship at a crucial stage of the season.

On the field, a Somerset attack minus Craig Overton and with Josh Davey limping, has struggled to maintain the pressure on the Leicestershire batsmen, who are looking increasingly comfortable on a placid pitch.

  9. Decent morning for Durhampublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 101-3 - lunch

    Clive Eakin
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Sport

Despite the loss of night watchman Matty Potts (35) and Cameron Bancroft (34), it was still a decent morning session for Durham.

They’ll be encouraged with the start David Bedingham has made. The country’s top run scorer played two exquisite shots for fours just before lunch.

For Warwickshire, Craig Miles took both wickets, giving him all three in the innings and he’s broken two blue stumps in the process.

It is a slow pitch and with the whole of the first day lost it will be difficult for Durham to force a win - and their need is greater in the race for a top two place.

  11. Postpublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

Disappointing news from Old Trafford and the Ageas Bowl, where the teams were set to resume at 13:10. Rain has returned at both grounds, so no play possible yet.

  12. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 101-3

Four leg byes from the final delivery before lunch takes the Durham total past 100. It's been a tough session with 81 added in 32 overs.

With Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse summoned away before the start of play, Craig Miles' dismissal of Matty Potts and Cameron Bancroft has left Durham work to do to achieve something like first-innings parity.

  13. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Notts 307 v Derbyshire 149 & 13-1

Luke Fletcher strikes with the final ball before lunch as Tom Wood is caught by Ben Compton at first slip for three.

It's been a good morning for Notts despite the disappointment of losing Ben Duckett to England when he was due to resume on 69 not out. Derbyshire need another 145 to avoid an innings defeat.

  14. Lunch at Cheltenhampublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Glos 248 v Middx 86-4

Two wickets in two balls from Dan Worrall has made it very much Gloucestershire's morning.

They lost David Payne to an England call-up but the attack that remains has put the home side in a good position in a game you think they have to win.

  15. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Somerset 461-9d v Leics 175-4

A very important stand between Colin Ackermann and Harry Swindells has got Leicestershire going again.

Still lots to do to get back in the game.

  16. Bears dismiss Bancroftpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 89-3

After two and a half hours of self-denial, Cameron Bancroft is lbw to a Craig Miles inswinger for 34, from 102 balls. The Australian wasn't keen on the decision, but he is back in the Durham dressing room now. David Bedingham is the new batsman.

WICKET Vasconcelos b Paterson 10published at 13:03 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

Northants 17-1 - need 206 to beat Yorks

First one down for Yorkshire and a massive blow.

Ricardo Vasconcelos, by far Northants' best player, is done by a full and straight delivery angled in.

He's basically just missed it, which can happen early on.

A huge boost for Yorkshire's defence of 205.

    Lunch now at Wantage Road.

  18. Potts defiance endedpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 82-2

After toiling for 25 overs this morning, Warwickshire finally have a breakthrough, with nightwatchman Matty Potts bowled by Craig Miles for 35. Potts shared a stand of 68 with Cameron Bancroft, who is on 31 and has now been joined by Durham skipper Scott Borthwick.

  19. Latest from Ageas Bowlpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Hampshire 488 v Surrey 42-4

Better news. Following a mid-day inspection, umpires Chris Watts and Ian Gould say play can starts at 13:10 BST if there is no further rain.

Chris Watts - that's a name which sounds like someone you were at school with. If you're from Norfolk, maybe you were.

Notts take big lead at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Notts 307 v Derbyshire 149

    Luis ReeceImage source, Rex Features

Luis Reece brings Nottinghamshire's first innings to an end by bowling Dane Schadendorf for 24, knocking his off stump out of the ground.

The main bowling plaudits, though, go to Fynn Hudson-Prentice, whose figures of 5-68 are the best of his career.

The Notts lead is 158 and Derbyshire are going to to have to bat a lot better than they did first time around.
