A start for Colin Ackermann but a lot lot more needed for Leicestershire.

Harry Swindells has struck four early boundaries and a little stand is forming.

    312 to save the follow-on.

A birthday present for Ben Aitchison as he picks up the wicket of Luke Fletcher, caught superbly in the gully for 14 by Leus du Plooy. Last man Dane Paterson comes out to join Dane Schadendorf, a third-morning replacement for Ben Duckett.

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 61-1

I have just been scanning the ground and Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse are still here. They are in the Durham dressing room at the far end of the ground and presumably are waiting for transport to take them to the new England bubble.

Jack Burnham is travelling to Birmingham from Beckenham, where Durham's second team is playing Kent. Graham Clark, who was already on 12th man duties is also a replacement, but it mean s Durham's bowling attack is weakened.

Warwickshire have also lost Danny Briggs, who has been replaced by Ethan Brookes, playing in his third FC game.

Brookes is just about to have a bowl and Durham are 61-1. Cameron Bancroft has 21 and nightwatchman Matty Potts has 25.

Ben Aitchison takes up the attack for Derbyshire on his 22nd birthday and a single for Luke Fletcher brings Notts their third batting point.

It was only a short interruption at Trent Bridge. They're back out there now and Luke Fletcher has just clipped Michael Cohen through square leg for four to open his account.

What an innings this has been from Harry Brook.

It's been spinning at Wantage Road and Brook has been the only one to keep Northants at bay.

A third first-class hundred for the 22-year-old, who is also the leading runscorer in the T20 Blast.

The lead is edging up towards 200 and that could be plenty for Yorkshire, and particularly Dom Bess, to try and defend.

  8. Postpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Somerset 461-9d v Leics 137-4

Josh Inglis has fallen to Jack Brooks this morning and Leicestershire can't get a partnership together so far.

Colin Ackermann still there and surely he has to be the one to make a big score if Leicestershire are to stay in the game.

  9. Postpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Warwickshire 237 v Durham 50-1

Looks like Matty Potts is enjoying his role as nightwatchman as he swats a Will Rhodes full toss for four and then square cuts a no-ball to the boundary to take the Durham total to 50. Potts is 20 not out and Cameron Bancroft has 15.

  10. rain stops play

    Notts 284-8 v Derbyshire 149

After one ball of a new Michael Cohen over, a passing shower forced the players from the field at Trent Bridge. Dane Schadendorf is 19 not out and Luke Fletcher has yet to score. The Notts lead is 135.

  11. for Fynn Hudson-Prenticepublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Notts 283-8 v Derbyshire

A big moment for Fynn Hudson-Prentice as he has Brett Hutton lbw for 23 to take five wickets in an innings for the first time in his career. Absolutely no doubt about that one.

Luke Fletcher is the new Notts batsman, joining replacement Dane Schadendorf, who is 18 not out.

Incidentally, FHP sports one of those top knots in the style of Gareth Bale or, in at least one episode of Toast Of London, Clem Fandango.

No David Payne for Gloucestershire but a very tight start with the ball.

A full one from Matt Taylor has ended Josh de Caires' debut for only 5.

Get Involved #bbccricketpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

Call us sentimental but we would have loved to see Darren Stevens and James Hildreth included in the new England one-day squad. They have both been too good to end their careers without a single international cap in any format. Any other worthies from the county circuit you would have liked to see included?

Really tight bowling so far this morning from Craig Miles and Liam Norwell. An occasional single is all Durham have to show for their efforts - but they haven't lost a wicket.

    Hampshire 488 v Surrey 42-4 - start delayed

The umpires hope to inspect at 12:00 at the Ageas Bowl following overnight rain. Youngster Tom Prest will replace James Vince in the Hampshire side, with Ben Geddes called in for Will Jacks by Surrey.

  20. 'I could be the last' - Andersonpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 6 July 2021

    Lancashire 108-5 v Kent 74 (inspection 11:30)

James Anderson believes he could be the last player to take 1,000 first-class wickets after reaching the milestone by taking 7-19 on day two against Kent at Old Trafford.

"I'm away a lot with England and don't get to play much for Lancashire so it makes it that much more special to do it here and with a performance that helps the team," the England pace bowler said.

"To get 1,000 first-class wickets is becoming harder with the amount of cricket that is played across the world. It is getting less and less likely that it will happen again.

"I could potentially be the last person to do it, which just adds to the feeling of it being very, very special."
