    They put on 99 together in the last home game - against Hampshire a fortnight ago. Now they have gone one run better.

    Dawson is troubling left-hander Wood though. Hants appeal for a catch to Vince at slip but umpire Alex Wharf is unimpressed.

    Wood goes to cut and misses and Crane has his hands on his head in exasperation. The leg-spinner then produces a cobra from out of the rough that turns, bounces and spits, but Wood survives.
