Mayers is a short, scuttling, lively medium pacer - almost the exact opposite of what they're facing the other end from Holder. He bowls a fuller length, and is causing England some problems at the moment.

Kyle Mayers round the wicket to Alex Lees.

The seamer appears a calculating character rather than a firebrand. After every delivery he comes across as serene, calm and deep in thought.

Masterful stuff from him so far as he clocks up another maiden.

We've not seen the best of Alex Lees in Test cricket so far because it hasn't been easy - the ball has been moving.

He's been excellent because he's just played the line.

An absolute jaffa from Jason Holder as he swings his third ball past a tentative defensive poke from Dan Lawrence. Will the swashbuckling Lawrence seek to counter-attack here? Or play a more watchful innings.

He seems content to play the situation as well as the deliver for the time being as he sees off a maiden from Holder.

Curtly Ambrose is positively purring on commentary.

Thank goodness for some interesting cricket!

Alex, Alex, Alex. Not what you expect from an opener in this situation.

Slightly wider from Kyle Mayers and jags away from the left-handed Lees who decided now was the time to bring out the cover drive. Not bat on it.

England need to dig in and see this tricky spell off.

There are more West Indies fans in here today than at the previous two venues - you could tell by the noise greeting Root's wicket.

That is a very good delivery from Kyle Mayers to get rid of Joe root. It was cross-seam again and it's just taken the edge of the in-form batter.

He was included in the team this morning and he's showing the captain what he can do.

As expected, the ball was sliding down leg and was missing the stumps.

West Indies burning through two reviews is probably the only thing they have got wrong this morning.

Jason Holder is doing his job from the other end, largely keeping the England run rate down.

After a single for Alex Lees early in the over Dan Lawrence the new man.

The final ball of his over clips Lawrence on the pad as he attempts to defend. West Indies review after the original decision is given not out.

Once again looks like a bit of a duff call by the West Indies.

That is a big, big scalp.

Suddenly the decision to bowl first is looking as good as it gets. They've managed to get rid of England's master batter in Joe Root.

I'm not sure that ball that got Root did too much untoward - it might have bounced a little more, but took Root's edge.

    Huge wicket for West Indies.

Kyle Mayers has stuck to some tried and trusted methods to snaffle two early England wickets.

He has just nibbled it off an awkward length and forced England skipper Joe Root into playing at it. It's a thin edge and Joshua da Silva is on hand to take a routine catch. He tosses the ball in the air in delight.

Zak Crawley is going to be consistently inconsistent if he bats like that and plays the big drive. He played a nice drive down the ground, but once again he's got out playing the big booming drive.

The trap was set and Crawley has been caught in the trap.

Would love a greasy chip butty, must be honest.

Jason Holder is using all his guile and craft here but his final ball is slightly over pitched and Alex lees does not have to move and inch to crunch it through mid-on for four. Lovely timing.

England captain Joe Root to the middle then, and Kyle Mayers beats his outside edge with a peach of a delivery off the seamer's final ball of the over.

The tourists need to be watchful to both these skillful West Indies bowlers as they look to dry up the runs and build pressure.

Crawley faced 36 balls for his seven runs, which is not how he generally plays. It was a wide half-volley that he drove to extra cover. There wasn't much special about the ball - it was just batsman's error.
