    Lead by 17

Chris Woakes with a maiden over to Kemar Roach who has adopted a similar mindset to England's tailenders last night by keeping the bowlers out there.

England could so with nipping one of these two out before stumps.

Craig Overton, looking equally as weary as Chris Woakes with a hang dog expression etched across his face.

Joshua da Silva gets another delivery to his strong shot and he whips it away off his legs for four to reach his half-century - the first on either side in the match.

143 balls to get there. Just 25 per cent of his runs scored on the off side.

Julian Barrell: I don't think 20 runs plus or minus matters. I think what matters is one of the English batters getting in and getting a ton tomorrow.

  6. WI 210-8published at 81.0 overs

    Lead by 11

Chris Woakes has been a little loose to start here and he feeds Joshua da Silva's shot off his legs and he tucks it away comfortably for four.

Woakes stares at the ground in contemplative mood on the way back to his mark. His fourth ball pops up and surprises Kemar Roach a little.

England have taken the new ball. Chris Woakes, who looks a little bedraggled, has it in hand.

  9. WI 210-8published at 80.0 overs

Jack Leach rattles through six balls in double quick time. The umpires have the light meters out again.

    We are continuing for now.

In between having quiet words with Joshua da Silva, Ben Stokes was beating Kemar Roach's edge ball after ball.

  11. WI 207-8published at 78.0 overs

With the light fading Joshua da Silva pulls a short one from Ben Stokes for a single.

Da Silva unhappy with the bumper in the gloom and he Stokes lock verbal antlers throughout the remainder of the over with some terse bickering.

This is a brilliant Test match. Absolutely nip and tuck. Every run counts.

  13. WI 202-8published at 77.4 overs

    Trail by two

Kemar Roach with a top-edge sweep off Jack Leach but despite a cry of of "catch it" from Jonny Bairstow the ball plugs behind square and West Indies add two more to the total.

New ball nearly with us. Light will fade in about half an hour's time, so England will want to use it as much as they can, but they won't put Leach or a part time spinner on in order just to stay on.

Thanks for the comment Giles, off anywhere nice for dinner this evening?

England's Ben Stokes is labouring in vain at the moment with Kemar Roach able to handle anything the all-rounder has thrown at him so far.

Roach has a bit of a waggle to Stokes' fifth ball outside off stump before playing a more orthodox drive for a couple.

Joe Root turns to Jack Leach again.

Seeing as someone has to deliver a big innings for England tomorrow for us to have a chance of winning the series, is there a case for sending in Leach as a 'morning watchman' if we lose an opener early (which we will), in the hope of still having a specialist batsman left to capitalise on the old ball?

That's the last round of cricketers as drinks I think, so save any more suggestions for another day.

Joshua da Silva continues to play to his strength of stepping across his stumps and whipping the ball off his pads to add another single to the total off an otherwise tight Saqib Mahmood over.

West Indies taking their time to get to England's total. Not sure Alex Lees and Zak Crawley will mind that too much. They won't fancy a few tricky overs before the close.

It is the hirsute Ben Stokes, his beard glistening in the evening sun giving him a glowing appearance, back into the attack.

He goes fuller than Craig Overton but is unable to conjure up any magic as West Indies pinch another single.
