England captain Heather Knight: “I was going to have a bat but I don’t think there is much in it. It looks like a half-decent surface, maybe a little bit on the dry side so the spinners might come into it at the end.

“We’re just focusing on today and it’s really important that we do that and really important that we park the last two games.

“It hasn’t started how we wanted and we’ve put ourselves under pressure but all we’ve got to do is focus on this one game, get our mindset right, make sure we do the right things, relax and make sure we’re doing the basic things that we do very well and hopefully we’ll be OK.”

I genuinely cannot believe South Africa are bowling first. All cricketing logic points towards batting. Not only that, but 9 out of 11 matches in the tournament have been won by the team batting first.

Heather Knight calls incorrectly, and South Africa skipper Sune Luus opts to have a bowl. It looks a pretty good day and pitch to bat on at this stage, so she's clearly backing her bowling attack.

Knight admits she would've batted first anyway, but that there 'may not be much in it.'

Lauren Winfield-Hill misses out today, Charlie Dean comes in and Danni Wyatt has been promoted to open the batting. South Africa are unchanged.

Mount Maunganui has been showing off today. The glittering sunshine has been reflecting off the sea, which England can see from their hotel overlooking the beach. However, the natural beauty of their surroundings will be no comfort if they lose today. The word is Charlie Dean will come in for Lauren Winfield-Hill, with Danni Wyatt pushed up to open. On a scorching hot day and with a used pitch, if the captain who wins the toss doesn't bat first, they will need a head wobble.

It'll be interesting to see whether England make any changes.

Lauren Winfield-Hill has been struggling at the top of the order, but we know that coach Lisa Keightley likes consistency.

Anya Shrubsole had a day to forget across all three disciplines against the West Indies. Katherine Brunt wasn't at her best either, but write her off at your peril.

Tash Farrant and Freya Davies are the pace bowling options, Charlie Dean could be an extra spinner and Emma Lamb the candidate who could replace Winfield-Hill. We'll have the toss and team news for you shortly.

Good morning/afternoon! It's cold, dark and just gone midnight here in the UK, in stark contrast to New Zealand which looks glorious.

And in the cricket, it's crunch time for England. Every game is a must-win now, having lost two from two.

Today's opponents, meanwhile, are at the opposite end of the table, having won both their games so far. Can England keep their World Cup dreams alive?
