Ben Stokes crouches down in disbelief. Henry Nicholls bottom edges into the turf. The ball bounces towards the stumps as Nicholls, rather awkwardly and clearly panicked, attempts to get back and almost clatters into his own stumps.

It is interesting how New Zealand are opting to play with the horizontal bat. I wonder if there is any thought about coming down the pitch and playing with the straight bat a bit more because with a little bit of extra bounce the top edge and glove does come into play.
NZ 104-2
It was worth the review but no bat or glove. And the chance of lbw was always going to be very slim - clearly going down leg.

England are leaping around and they were convinced that it came off the glove or top edge.
NZ 104-2
Two in the over for Jack Leach? England think they may have new batter Henry Nicholls caught at slip. All depends whether it brushed the glove before the pad. Not out and Stokes reviews.

Well done, Jack Leach. He just deceived Devon Conway with the length a little bit.

Devon Conway will be pretty disappointed with that. Maybe he and New Zealand were just trying to press on.
Conway c Bairstow b Leach 52 (NZ 104-2)
Having just reached his half-century, Devon Conway - perhaps a little bit too overconfident - top edges a sweep. Jonny Bairstow runs in from the square-leg boundary to take the catch.
Who saw that coming? Can England take one or two more before the interval?
Jonathan Agnew

That was a lovely shot from Devon Conway. He just delayed and play it so much later.
NZ 104-1
Devon Conway reaches his half-century by, quite fittingly, reverse sweeping Jack Leach for four.

Andy C: Alec Stewart’s twin tons in Barbados in 1994 have to be up there as two of the greatest innings.
Ben Stokes steams in with real menace. He is finding some good movement as one nips back and thuds into Young's thigh.
Maiden.

There isn't a great deal there for Jack Leach, but more than the first innings. He just hasn't been consistent enough so far.
Jeremy Coney
Former New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special
Every time Jack Leach tries to bowl in the footholes outside the left-hander it has just encouraged Devon Conway to play the reverse sweep, and it is a shot that doesn't worry him.
Lead by 114
The batting pair exchange smiles. Perhaps because Stokes is persevering with Jack Leach.
How good is Conway at the reverse sweep? For at least the third or fourth time this innings, he picks up the length and finds the boundary.
I'm contemplating whipping out the 'Sea Salt and Chardonnay Vinegar' crisps, but it could be a decision I live to regret. For anyone following us yesterday, you'll know the damage they did. Hour-long sweats.

The draw is heavy favourite at the moment. New Zealand should be leading by around 220 tonight. I don't expect them to gamble too much with Kyle Jamieson injured and Tim Southee looking tired.
I expect they'll give England about 50 overs to chase a fair amount of runs.
Nearly! Stokes angles into Will Young, finds the inside edge and the ball narrowly misses the top of the stumps before racing down to the fine-leg boundary. So, so close.

Is it the crane in the background?
Is it picking up Tim Southee's bowling figures?

What's that noise?
