That was tremendous fun! Maybe not for England, but India supporters certainly. What a morning of cricket we have had. 78 runs in an hour of play.

The India players were absolutely loving the tail wag and Jasprit Bumrah smearing Stuart Broad all over the park.

Slogger: I do find it embarrassing when England go for this 80mph short ball tactic when I feel the ‘tail-enders don’t like it up em’ theory is a thing of the past with all this white ball stuff now. If your best ball gets a top batsman out, it gets a tail-ender out. Rubbish

Jonny Green:So hang on, we have two of the greatest new ball bowlers of all time, with a new ball, against two tail-enders; and we're banging it in short? Baffling. Utterly baffling.

    Siraj c Broad b Anderson 2 (Ind 416)

It was fun while it lasted.

Mohammed Siraj looks to emulate his batting partner Jasprit Bumrah but his ugly swipe can only find Stuart Broad at mid-on.

India all out for 416. Bumrah and Siraj added 41 from just 17 balls.

A quite astonishing over. Breath-taking strokeplay, top edges, middling a few as well.

That's the most runs off an over in Test cricket. It breaks the 28 runs taken off a James Anderson over in 2013 when George Bailey hit him for two sixes at Perth. Brian Lara took the same amount off a Robin Pieterson over in 2003 as well.

  8. Ind 412-9published at 84 overs

Jasprit Bumrah digs the final delivery out and runs for a cheeky single. Stuart Broad attempts the run out but Mohammed Siraj is safely home.

35 runs off that over. I need a lie down.

This short ball barrage has become very predictable. Jasprit Bumrah is just sat back knowing what's to come.

  10. Ind 411-9published at 83.5 overs

This is incredible. Jasprit Bumrah creams the ball away for another six! I have never seen anything like this in my life.

34 runs off the over so far.

  11. Ind 405-9published at 83.4 overs

    This is outrageous.

Jasprit Bumrah goes for a wild one-handed swipe and ends up on the floor as the ball fizzes through mid-wicket for four.

  12. Ind 400-9published at 83.3 overs

    What's going on??

Staurt Broad bangs one in far too short and the ball sails over Sam Billings for five wides. Jasprit Bumrah then top edges a pull over the wicketkeeper for six - AND it is called a no ball.

The next delivery is a a high full toss that Bumrah smashes through long on for four.

Want more? Of course you do. Bumrah clips one around the corner for another boundary to bring up the India 400.

    24 off three legitimate balls.

  13. Ind 381-9published at 83.1 overs

Is that a drop? I think it may have dropped just short.

Jasprit Bumrah goes for the pull and top edges it towards Zak Crawley at fine leg, Crawley dives forward but gets his timing wrong and it bounces in front of him before tumbling over the boundary rope.

  14. Ind 377-9published at 83 overs

That shot from Ravindra Jadeja did seem to come out of nowhere - did he just run out of patience? Either way he has gone and James Anderson has four wickets.

Mohammed Siraj joins Jasprit Bumrah at the crease. England will look to wrap this up pretty quickly.

I don't think India got their tactics right there. Second ball of the over and Ravindra Jadeja had his head in the air trying to hit James Anderson out the ground. It lacked a real plan. I wondered whether they would wait for the fifth or sixth ball when the field comes up to try to hit a boundary, or take the single.

The shot from Ravindra Jadeja was his undoing. It's been a fine effort. He got over the line and got his hundred. But where did that come from?

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 82.2 overs

    Jadeja b Anderson 104 (Ind 375-9)

    You miss. I hit.

Ravindra Jadeja goes for a huge, ugly heave but completely misses it and the ball clatters into the stumps.

A wonderful innings comes to an end as Jadeja walks off to warm applause.

A little bit of stalemate with England trying to protect the boundaries and India picking up the single off the fourth or fifth ball. However, what it does do is keep England in the field for longer. How long both sides are happy to persist with this remains to be seen.

Does it make sense to turn down these runs which are easily available? I guess the Indian batters will have a plan, but it only takes one good ball to the tail enders and you're gone.
