    Lace b Thompson 28 (Gloucs 227 & 211-6 v Yorkshire 376)

It was beginning to look like Yorkshire might need the new ball to break Gloucestershire's sixth-wicket partnership, but it is still almost 12 overs away as Jordan Thompson removes Tom Lace.

In truth that's a fine delivery, Lace plays down the line of middle stump and the ball shapes away and hits off.

He put on 73 with James Bracey, who is 103 not out, and the home side lead by 66.

    Abbott lbw Clark 0 Surrey 467 v Hampshire 223 & 225-9 (f/o)

    One to go.

It's two wickets in four balls for Jordan Clark who pins Kyle Abbott lbw for no score.

Abbott has lasted a total of five balls across the two innings - and not scored a run.

    Surrey are on the brink.

    Kent 260 & 58-4 v Lancashire 506

You have to admire Ben Compton's patience and powers of self denial. After carrying his bat for 104 not out in Kent's first innings, he is now unbeaten on 16 from 82 balls - and has been at the crease in this match for over 500 minutes.

The home side trail by 188 after being asked to follow on by Lancashire.

    Fuller b Clark 12 (Surrey 467 v Hampshire 223 & 225-8 (f/o)

Middle stump out of the ground, bails flying, that's what you call an emphatic dismissal!

Jordan Clark takes out James Fuller for 12.

So do we think this one will finish today?

Hampshire are 19 behind with Surrey needing two wickets to wrap-up a win which would allow them to unwrap their Easter eggs in bed tomorrow morning rather than being back at the Kia Oval.

  5. Division Two latestpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

Durham have lost the first wicket of their second innings against Leicestershire with Sean Dickson caught off Ed Barnes for 84. Michael Jones is still there on 61 out of 154-1 and they lead by 309.

Tom Haines has progressed to 138 not out for Sussex against Derbyshire. They are 234-2, with Cheteshwar Pujara on 41, still 96 behind after being asked to follow on.

Glamorgan have picked up another Notts wicket with Timm van der Gugten having Liam Patterson-White lbw at Trent Bridge. The home side are 177-6, a lead of exactly 100.

If James Bracey was James Kerr, he'd be humming the tune of Don't You Forget About Me right now.

He was an England player last year and a second century in successive games isn't going to harm his chances of another Test opportunity.

This one comes up from 172 balls with two runs through point off Dom Bess. He has now put on 63 with Tom Lace and Gloucestershire lead by 54.

David Lloyd takes the catch at first slip from Timm van der Gugten's bowling.

    Kent 260 & 28-2 (f/o) v Lancashire 506

Kent are following on and trail by 218 runs at tea.

They won't be happy with the manner of the dismissals of Zak Crawley and Daniel Bell-Drummond which are the two wickets Lancashire have picked-up since the follow-on.

Ben Compton scored a fine century in the first innings and they will need him to repeat his heroics again when he reappears after tea alongside Tawanda Muyeye.

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

Sussex are whittling away at a huge first-innings deficit of 331, and have reached tea in arrears by 153

Tom Haines has led the way by scoring the sixth first class hundred of his career, although he was given a life on 111 when dropped at slip by Wayne Madsen.

He received solid support from Ali Orr in a first-wicket partnership of 119, but was responsible for the run out of Tom Alsop.

The Derbyshire bowlers have toiled away on a pitch giving them little help, but with a new ball available in 16 overs will be looking to make further inroads in the final session.

  18. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Gloucestershire 227 & 162-5 v Yorkshire 376

It's been a productive afternoon for Gloucestershire, who have added 106 runs during the session - but they have lost three wickets in the process.

James Bracey is holding the innings together with 77 not out and they need a lot more from him to have a chance to denying Yorkshire a victory.

The home side lead by 13 runs.

  19. Tea at the Kia Ovalpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 16 April 2022

    Surrey 467 v Hampshire 223 & 181-5 (f/o)

Hampshire trail by 63 runs at tea.

They will be disappointed to have lost James Vince in that fashion in the penultimate over before tea and Hants find themselves with plenty to do in the evening session.

Their innings had started well with Joe Weatherley's 87 but Ian Holland, Nick Gubbins and Liam Dawson have all fallen cheaply.

Surrey still well in the ascendency thanks to that 467 first-innings score and might have plans to get this one wrapped-up today so they can enjoy an Easter Sunday lie-in.
