Lunch at Old Trafford where rain and Shane Snater have held up the home side.
Snater is 40 not out and has played the role of number nine to perfection - some stout defence, a few fine shots and some streaky ones to achieve maximum annoyance.
It would suggest the pitch remains a good one for batting, though.

The stop-start nature of the morning session does not seem to have dampened the enthusiasm of around 2,000 schoolchildren, who are providing some welcome noise to the play.

That is a tame end to a lovely knock from Dan Lawrence.
After looking untroubled all morning from the bowling, Lawrence just chips one into Jimmy Anderson's hands at short midwicket.
He punches his bat in frustration as he (and runner Matt Critchley) depart.

Essex have added 54 in the ten overs we have had this morning and are closing in on a fourth batting point. They need 16 from four overs for that.

The partnership is now worth 52 off 64 balls and is helping Essex build a very competitive first innings score.

Free runs for Joe Clarke as Alex Hughes sends down a full toss which he puts away through the leg-side for four to move to 23 not out.
Partner Ben Duckett has 33 and they are closing in on a 50 partnership - the last wicket having fallen when the score was 76.
That will be that for the morning, however, as the rain returns and the players go off for for a slightly early bite to eat.

No play has been possible this morning at New Road, but an early lunch has been taken and the umpires hope to start play at 13:10.
Azhar Ali is 60 not out and Jack Haynes has 42 for the home side, who lead by 11.

Will Rhodes is the new bowler and it is a maiden to the becalmed Adam Lyth, who has faced 93 balls for his 16 not out.
There will be no play before lunch at either Taunton, where Hampshire are 29-0 in reply to Somerset's 211 all out, or New Road, where Worcestershire are waiting to resume their first innings against Leicestershire.
