    Derbyshire 122-4 v Sussex

Derbyshire are in the promotion mix in Division Two - and two of the big reasons behind that are opener Shan Masood and veteran batter Wayne Madsen.

Masood fell just short of his half-century this morning, departing for 46 as he became the first player this season to pass 1,000 County Championship runs.

Madsen gets no such jitters, with his 50 coming off 80 deliveries. He's averaging 81.11 this season, Masood 86.41 - how are Derbyshire are only fourth in the table?

  2. wicket

WICKET - Procter lbw b Rhodes 33published at 13:58 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Northants 139-4 v Warwickshire

Warwickshire skipper Will Rhodes also forces a breakthrough early in the afternoon session at Wantage Road as he traps Luke Procter for 33.

New man in is Josh Cobb, to join Rob Keogh, who is on 23.

Four wickets, four different bowlers, Henry Brookes, Craig Miles and Nathan McAndrew.

The only surprise is that Oliver Hannon-Dalby, the Bears' leading wicket taker this season with 25, has so far not got in on the act.

  3. wicket

    WICKET - Scott c Jennings b Bailey 23published at 13:52 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 38-1 v Lancashire

Lancashire make a breakthrough straight after lunch in Bristol.

Gloucestershire opener George Scott edges Tom Bailey to the safe hands of Keaton Jennings at second slip.

It is a 19th first-class scalp of the season for Bailey - and his 275th for Lancashire.

New man is South African Glenn Phillips, a slight tweak to the Gloucestershire batting order.

James Bracey has batted at number three all season, but Phillips has been propelled higher up the order following his century in last week's game against Kent.

  4. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 142-2 v Kent

Surrey begin as they left off against Kent at The Oval, with a boundary over the afternoon's first over, via Hashim Amla.

It was the 22nd four of Surrey's innings - 88 of their 142 runs thus far have come off boundaries. That's some pretty confident batting.

  5. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

Lunch has been devoured - and we are back under way in our seven games across the county.

Where's the first wicket of the afternoon coming from?

  6. Glamorgan seamers on top at New Roadpublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Worcestershire 84-5 v Glamorgan

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan made the most of winning the toss and putting Worcestershire in on a green-topped pitch as all their seamers have had a successful morning session.

Michael Neser set the tone by ripping out the middle stump of the returning Ed Pollock first ball before Jake Libby nicked Michael Hogan to Tom Cullen, who is keeping wicket in the absence of the injured Chris Cooke.

Cullen went on to claim two more catches down the leg side off David Lloyd, first the vital dismissal of Azhar Ali for 21 and then an even better effort to get rid of rookie Taylor Cornall for 25.

Cornall, playing onlyt his second match, had already survived a blow on the helmet from Neser in a battling performance.

But with Brett D’Oliveira trapped palpably lbw by James Harris at the other end, the home side now face a fight for respectability this afternoon

  7. 'Hampshire leave Essex with much to do'published at 13:23 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Essex 72-5 v Hampshire

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Only 69 wickets fell in the first three championship games of the season at Chelmsford but this wicket has offered enough for a strong Hampshire seam attack to capitalize.

The visitors soon had Essex 16-3 as Nick Browne, Alastair Cook and Dan Lawrence all fell cheaply.

Tom Westley has since held the hosts together with an unbeaten 33 but Hampshire’s ascendancy was re-enforced when Ian Holland then took two wickets in three balls leaving Essex with much to do after lunch.

One positive sign for Essex was that Liam Dawson found some assistance in two exploratory overs before lunch. Simon Harmer took 12 wickets when these sides last met here and he will surely have a big say later.

  9. Covers back on in Bristolpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 30-0 v Lancashire

    Scott Read
    Radio Lancashire

Only 14 overs possible in the morning session, so not a great deal to report.

George Scott and Chris Dent were asked to come out and bat for a 20-minute spell before lunch and did well.

Dent had one play and miss to a good ball from Will Williams and Scott edged a Tom Bailey ball short of Keaton Jennings at second slip.

Sadly the covers are coming back on but hopefully not for long.

  10. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Nottinghamshire 120-2 v Middlesex

Nottinghamshire opener Haseeb Hameed goes to lunch on 42 after a fairly productive morning sessioon for the leaders in the meeting of Division Two's top two with Middlesex.

Joe Clarke also looks well set on 23.

  11. Lunch at Wantage Roadpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Northants 124-3 v Warwickshire

An entertaining morning session at Northampton.

    124 runs and three wickets.

Dominated by Emilio Gay's 70 - but honours just about even.

  12. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 137-2 v Kent

The Division One leaders march on.

There was a slight blip when openers Rory Burns and Ryan Patel fell within five balls of each other as Surrey slipped from a rapidly-made 64-0 to 70-2.

But Hashim Amla (38no) and Ben Geddes (27no) have put on 67 and counting.

Debutant loanee Toby Pettman's dismissal of Burns was the highlight for Kent, whose bowlers have toiled with little reward.

  13. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Essex 72-5 v Hampshire

No argument over whose morning it's been at Chelmsford.

Five Essex wickets have fallen, with Ian Holland (2-8) the pick of the Hampshire bowlers with two wickets in the space of three balls.

Tom Westley remains unbeaten on 33 for the hosts and his continuing contribution will be vitally important in determining whether Essex get anything out of this match.

  14. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 30-0 v Lancashire

A rain-shortened session at Nevil Road, Bristol.

But Gloucestershire will be the happier, George Scott (19) and Chris Dent (11) having negotiated separate rain breaks to see their side safly to lunch.

  15. Postpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 132-2 v Kent

Those aforementioned 19,000-plus first-class runs Hashim Amla has accumulated during his career will have not included many easier than the boundary he's just played off compatriot George Linde.

The spinner's delivery was so wide it had its own postcode but Amla still reaches out to get a bat on it and guide it away for four.

  16. wicket

    WICKET - Gay c Lamb b McAndrew 70published at 12:53 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Northants 113-3 v Warwickshire

A third wicket of the morning session for Warwickshire as Emilio Gay, after 13 boundaries, goes for one big shot too many.

Rob Keogh comes in to join Luke Procter, who is on 30.

  17. Amla passes 19,000 first-class runspublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 116-2 v Kent

    Hashim Amla.Image source, Getty Images

Surrey have recovered from losing those two quickfire wickets.

Helps when you have Hashim Amla in at number three, I suppose.

He's just taken a nice three - and that puts the South African veteran past 19,000 career first-class runs.

  18. wicket

Lloyd strikes again at New Roadpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Worcestershire 67-5 v Glamorgan

Glamorgan continue their morning of success after putting Worcestershire in.

Taylor Cornall becomes the fifth victim of the session, a third catch for keeper Tom Cullen - and a second wicket for skipper David Lloyd.

  19. wicket

Duckett out at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Notts 98-2 v Middlesex

Nottinghamshire have lost their second wicket of the morning at Trent Bridge.

Ben Duckett departs for 37, caught behind off Tom Helm.

That ended a 74-run stand with Haseeb Hameed, who remains, also on 37.

It was a brilliant catch by visiting keeper John Simpson, diving full length to his left in front of first slip.

Joe Clarke is the new man in.

  20. wicket

WICKETS - Essex lose two in three ballspublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Essex 56-5 v Hampshire

Essex's brief revival has come to an almighty halt.

Ian Holland takes two wickets in three balls, trapping Paul Walter lbw for 24 and then taking a looping caught and bowled to remove Michael Pepper for a second-ball duck.

Tom Westley remains at the crease, on 21, and a lot rests on his shoulders to prevent an Essex embarrassment.
