Lot of time for the 'Glad Hands' appeal from Finn for that wicket. Been watching Glee much?

  5. wicket

WICKET - Masood lbw b Finn 46published at 12:26 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Derbyshire 78-3 v Sussex

No half-century for Shan Masood as the Pakistan opener is trapped lbw by Steven Finn for 46.

At least he has the consolation of knowing he is the first County Championship batsman to pass 1,000 runs this season. He's on 1,037 now.

    Essex 45-3 Hampshire

After slipping to 16-3 at one stage, Essex have decided attack is the best form of defence against Hampshire.

Tom Westley remains the good cop with 15 off 46 balls but Paul Walter (below) has come in and turned bad cop, a few lusty strikes helping him amass 19 off 23 deliveries.

50 partnership for Northantspublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Northants 80-2 v Warwickshire

Emilio Gay is going well for Northamptonshire. Just short of his own half-century on 46 - and he has now compiled a 50 stand with Luke Procter (23).

  8. wicket

Glamorgan strike again at New Roadpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Worcestershire 57-3 v Glamorgan

A third wicket of the day for Glamorgan at Worcester.

Skipper David Lloyd had Azhar Ali caught behnd for 21.

The unhappy hosts have at least got the fifty up as skipper Brett D'Oliveira tries to stead the ship.

  9. Shot!published at 12:11 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 82-2 v Kent

Is there a better sound off the bat than the clunk of a shot struck straight past the bowler and down the ground for four?

Ben Geddes produces just that to dispatch Toby Pettman, who has had little chance to bathe in the glory of removing Rory Burns.

Hashim Amla is the man partnering Geddes - imagine getting rid of Burns and Ryan Patel, then having these two next up with Sam Curran and Will Jacks among those still to come.

Surrey's depth is probably the reason they top the table.

  10. wicket

WICKET - Lawrence lbw b Wheal 2published at 12:03 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Essex 16-3 v Hampshire

Some lbw decisions are blindingly obvious even to the naked eye - and this was one of them.

Dan Lawrence goes for just two and Essex are all over the shop.

Cracking delivery from Brad Wheal that would have obliterated the stumps if Mr Lawrence's pad had not got in the way. Hampshire are on fire this morning.

  11. wicket

    WICKET - Burns c Robinson b Pettman 24published at 11:56 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 70-2 v Kent

    Now then.

Surrey's opening pair seemed well set but now they have both departed in the space of five balls - and what a scalp for Toby Pettman on his Kent debut as he removes England man Rory Burns.

The 24-year-old only joined Kent on loan from Nottinghamshire a couple of days back but he gets Burns to try to tickle one outside his off stump and Ollie Robinson takes a second catch in a matter of minutes.

  12. rain stops play

Rain stops play again in Bristolpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 12-0 v Lancashire

This looks like being a frustrating morning at Nevil Road.

They came back on after their first rain break but only managed nine balls before going off again.

  13. wicket

    WICKET - Patel c Robinson b Milnes 40published at 11:51 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 64-1 v Kent

    Important breakthrough for Kent.

Ryan Patel had looked in swashbuckling mood for Surrey, seven fours in his fine 40.

But Matt Milnes finds something in the pitch that hadn't seemed to be there, getting one to slightly swing away from Patel when it had appeared a straight one.

The Surrey man felt he had to play it but the seam does for him as he edges to wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson.

  14. wicket

Second wicket for Glamorgan at Worcesterpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Worcestershire 25-2 v Glamorgan

Jake Libby was second man out for Worcestershire this morning.

Michael Hogan struck with the first ball of his second over but Azhar Ali and Taylor Cornall are now attempting to shore things up a bit.

The hosts have been weakened by the loss of this season's top run scorer Jack Haynes and Ben Cox.

  15. 'No control from either end'published at 11:49 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 60-0 v Kent

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

The problem for [Kent skipper] Jack Leaning at the moment is that he's got absolutely no control from either end.

He's already had to lose a slip.

Jacob Duffy has three overs and was thumped out of the attack.

  16. 50 runs

50 up for Surreypublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Surrey 51-0 v Kent

    And in quickfire fashion too.

Not a single extra either. Rory Burns has 20, Ryan Patel has overtaken him with 31.

The next highest team score of the day at the minute is Northants' 35-2.

    Surrey are motoring. Again.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play in Bristolpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 8-0 v Lancashire

There was a little doubt about the weather in Bristol - and sure enough it's now raining.

They went off five balls into the seventh over.

Hopefully it won't last too long before Tom Bailey is allowed to come back and complete his over.

  18. wicket

    WICKET - Rickelton c Burgess b Miles 4published at 11:34 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Northants 25-2 v Warwickshire

Warwickshire get a second wicket at Wantage Road as Craig Miles has Ryan Rickelton caught behind - another terrific catch from the eye-catching Michael Burgess.

  19. Good start for Middlesexpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

Middlesex have made an early strike in the battle of the top two in the fourth over at Trent Bridge.

Toby Roland-Jones had Ben Slater has caught behind to leave the hosts 9-1.

  20. wicket

    WICKET - Cook c Holland b Barker 5published at 11:31 British Summer Time 26 June 2022

    Essex 7-2 v Hampshire

A second wicket of the morning for Hampshire - and a big one as Sir Alastair Cook departs for just five.

Keith Barker racing down the track is an intimidating sight for even the very best and Chef plays a shot that will not feature in his career highlight reel, edging to Ian Holland at third slip.
