Glamorgan 176-4 (chasing 332 to win)

Worcestershire skipper Brett D'Oliveira, who has not bowled much of late following a shoulder injury, puts himself on. And Billy Root responds with 10 off the over - including two sweeps for four.

Maybe Joe Leach will have more luck at the other end, He is so far wicketless in this innings. But the way he takes wickets in flurries, that could all change very quickly.

One over is enough for Dolly. He takes himself back off again and calls up fellow spinner Josh Baker.

  7. wicket

Billy Root has so far chimed in with 15 in a stand of 33.

  9. Openers setting the stall outpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Surrey 673-7 dec v Kent 331 & 40-0

Kent openers Ben Compton and Joe Denly are doing a good job second time around. They have seen off 18 overs.

There are 26 more overs tonight and 96 tomorrow, but this is the right platform if they want to salvage an unlikely draw.

  10. wicket

    WICKET - Phillips b Balderson 9published at 16:58 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 337 & 42-2, Lancashire 402

Lancashire badly needed another breakthrough at Nevil Road before Gloucetershire got back to parity - and they now have one as Glenn Phillips is bowled by George Balderson.

Miles Hammond is the new man in - and Gloucestershire still trail by 23.

  11. wicket

    WICKET - Masood b Brooks 37published at 16:56 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

What is going on at Hove?

Derbyshire's star batter Shan Masood is out as he chops on and Jack Brooks claims his fourth wicket.

The lead is 268 and suddenly Sussex are maybe sensing an unlikely fourth-day run chase.

  12. wicket

    WICKET - Hollman c James b Paterson 52published at 16:54 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Notts 551-8 dec v Middlesex 360-8

Local lad Luke Hollman is caught in the deep on the hook after Dane Paterson bangs one in short.

A nice innings, but Nottinghamshire will hope to have Middlesex short of the follow-on target of 402.

  13. 50 runs

Bears avoid follow-on at Wantage Roadpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Northants 451, Warwickshire 304-6

Warwickshire avoid the follow-on at Wantage Road - and that probably ends any hope of this match ending in a positive result.

Good effort again from Michael Burgess, who has had an excllent summer with the bat.

After slapping his ninth four to reach the 302 follow-on avoidance target, he then goes to 50 with his next delivery, off just 58 balls).

And he has now put on a vital 47 with Aussie Nathan McAndrew.

  14. 50 runs

for Luke Hollmanpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Notts 551-8 dec v Middlesex 358-7

Number eight Luke Hollman brings up a good 50 off 74 balls with eight fours.

His partnership with Martin Andersson is now worth 37 as Andersson has clubbed five boundaries in his 22 not out.

It's brought up the 350 and a fourth batting point for Middlesex.

  15. wicket

    WICKET - Du Plooy c Finn b Brooks 3published at 16:42 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Sussex 337 v Derbyshire 551-8 dec & 47-4

No hat-trick for Jack Brooks but he does take a third wicket in eight balls.

Leus du Plooy tries to pull him but gets it too high on the bat and it's a dolly for Steven Finn jogging round from mid on.

A pretty unimpressive 30 minutes or so from Derbyshire here.

  16. wicket

    WICKET - Madsen c Carter b Brooks 0published at 16:35 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Sussex 337 v Derbyshire 551-8 dec & 37-3

The headband warrior Jack Brooks is on a hat-trick!

A century in the first innings and a golden duck in the second as Wayne Madsen edges and is well caught by Ollie Carter.

From a position of strength, suddenly Derbyshire have a bit of consolidation work to do.

  17. wicket

WICKET - Guest lbw b Brooks 8published at 16:31 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Sussex 337 v Derbyshire 551-8 dec & 37-2

A second Derbyshire wicket falls as Brooke Guest is plumb in front to Jack Brooks.

This view might be old fashioned but I'm a believer that if you have the chance to enforce the follow-on, do it.

You cannot (or rarely) win a game without taking 20 wickets.

  18. wicket

    WICKET - Carlson c Roderick b Pennington 5published at 16:26 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

Glamorgan 133-4 (chasing 332 to beat Worcestershire)

Glamorgan lose a fourth wicket at New Road as Dillon Pennington takes his second wicket of the match.

After his golden duck in the first innings, Kiran Carlson again goes cheaply.

New man at the crease is Billy Root.

He probably needs a sprinkling of left-over Headingley magic from his brother to save this one.

  19. wicket

    WICKET - Godleman c Alsop b Hunt 1published at 16:17 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Sussex 337 v Derbyshire 551-8 dec & 4-1

Derbyshire captain Billy Godleman chose not to enforce the follow-on, so the emphasis on him is to be positive with the bat.

But second ball, he steers Sean Hunt to Tom Alsop at slip.

  20. wicket

    WICKET - Scott c sub (Lamb) b Bailey 7published at 16:16 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 337 & 20-1, Lancashire 402

Tom Bailey makes early inroads for Lancashire as he removes openee George Scott for the second time in the match.

Scott edges and substitute Danny Lamb takes an excellent low rolling catch at second slip.
