  2. Sit tightpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Essex 238 & 223 v Hampshire 163 & 195-6

Ben Brown and Aneurin Donald have it all to do for Hampshire to win this game, but 11 runs in two overs after lunch is a good start.

Still 104 more needed. Sit tight and this should be a good finish.

  3. Here we go againpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

We're back underway in the majority of our matches.

There were slightly later lunches at Wantage Road, The Oval and Trent Bridge, so they will be late resuming again.

  4. Mohammed Rizwan in 'delightful' formpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

An intriguing morning at Hove in which Sussex added 109, inching towards avoiding the follow-on, but losing two wickets in the process.

The Derbyshire bowling honours go to left-arm spinner Mark Watt, who in just his second Championship game for the visitors has claimed both wickets and extracted some turn from what is an excellent batting surface.

Mohammed Rizwan unquestionably took the batting honours. His 105 not out was a mixture of delightful shots all around the wicket, and his first hundred in Sussex colours.

  5. Glamorgan need to bat better in second inningspublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Worcestershire 271 & 199, Glamorgan 139 & 36-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan have a mountain to climb at New Road as they chase a fourth-innings target of 332, which would be the highest score of the match on a pitch still showing plenty of bounce and pace.

In the 11 overs before lunch, they lost captain David Lloyd, who was dropped at slip off Joe Leach before scoring but could not profit as he drove Charlie Morris to mid-off in 13.

Worcestershire added 52 for their last four wickets on the third morning, Michael Neser and Michael Hogan taking an early wicket each before some useful tailend runs from nightwatchman Charlie Morris (29) and teenage spinner Josh Baker (25 not out) pushed the target above 300.

Andrew Salter took two wickets in two balls to finish off the home side, but Glamorgan will need to combat a challenging pitch and the impressive Leach far better than they did in the first innings if they are to make a realistic effort.

Dropped catch(es)published at 12:58 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Surrey 673-7 dec v Kent 253-3

Jack Leaning edges one straight to Dan Worrall at first slip and it goes straight in and straight out. That was a regulation slip chance and it has gone begging.

It's the second drop of the over as Tom Lawes shelled a difficult caught and bowled off the first ball of it.

Leaning then guides one down to the vacant third to bring up Kent's second batting point.

  19. Croft - like a fine winepublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 337, Lancashire 282-6

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

He turns 38 at the end of the season - and Steven Croft is piling up some big numbers.

This is his 199th first-class game and his 80 for Lancashire here in Bristol was his 299th first class innings.

He now needs just another 14 to reach 9,000 first-class runs for Lancashire.

This summer he's already become the first Lancashire player to feature in 200 T20 games for the club and he also became the first Lancashire player to pass 4,000 T20 runs.

As the old saying goes, like a fine wine . . .

  20. wicket

    WICKET - Vince b Harmer 13published at 12:49 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Essex 238 & 223 v Hampshire 163 & 162-6

The Hampshire captain is back in the hutch!

James Vince had stroked three fours with typical aplomb, but Simon Harmer has struck again.

Vince goes to cut and with the ball turning sharply into him, he is bowled. Judging by the reaction of the Essex fielders, they know that could be the game.
