    Lancs v Somerset 292-5

A maiden century for Lewis Goldsworthy.

What a fine effort from the 21-year-old Cornishman to haul his side out of trouble.

And what an occasion too on a golden afternoon for the return of cricket to Southport.

He got one off his hip from Tom Bailey to fine leg to move into the 90s.

A flying edge over the corner brought four more from Will Williams to take him to 99.

And a 15th four, driven through cover off George Balderson, brought his hundred in 207 balls.

A single off Wiaan Mulder takes Tom Alsop to 150 from 242 balls - and he equals his career-best score by doing so.

The left-hander has 16 fours so far and Sussex have over 20 overs remaining to score 21 runs and earn maximum batting points.

Chris Rushworth now has seven wickets for Durham, having just bowled Ben Aitchison for seven.

If he can pick up the last two Derbyshire wickets it could be a new career-best - which is currently 9-52.

And he's twice been on a hat-trick too.

    Yorkshire 303-5 v Surrey

Dan Worrall and Aaron Hardie are sharing the new ball for Surrey and an Adam Lyth boundary off the latter takes the total past 300 and earns Yorkshire a third batting point.

Lyth is now 127 not out and Jonny Tattersall has 75. They have so far added 178 and the Yorkshire record for the sixth wicket against Surrey is 190 by Jacques Rudolph and Adil Rashid at the Oval in 2007.

WICKET McManus b Quinn 4published at 17:44 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 271-8

    The Kent comeback continues.

Or the Northants surrender depending on your persuasion.

But the best ball of the day here from Matt Quinn.

Full of length, it swings away, beats Lewis McManus playing from the crease and takes out off stump.

    Northants have now lost 6-66.

    Hampshire 15-1 v Warwicks 217

After 16 dot balls, Ian Holland is off the mark with an authoritative square cut for four off Oliver Hannon-Dalby. Nick Gubbins is the batter at the other end following the exit of Felix Organ.

  10. for Chris Rushworthpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Durham v Derbyshire 251-7

First, Simon Harmer, then Kyle Abbott and now Chris Rushworth - you can't beat a bit of knowhow on a hot day.

Rushworth ends Derbyshire's big sixth wicket partnership by having Anuj Dal caught behind for 90 and then does the same to Alex Thomson with his next delivery.

He is on a hat-trick for the second time in the innings. Can he do it this time? Once again, we must wait for his next over to find out.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Organ lbw OHD 5 (Hampshire 6-1 v Warwicks 217)

Warwickshire need early wickets and they have their first as Oliver Hannon-Dalby finds enough nip back off the seam to beat Felix Organ's defensive stroke and trap him leg-before. There are 20 overs remaining in the day's play.

  12. 50 runs

for Alastair Cookpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Essex 94-1 v Gloucs 136

Not his best-ever stroke but a thick edge to the boundary off spinner Ollie Price takes Alastair Cook to a 126-ball fifty at Chelmsford. How many half-centuries has he scored in his career - 'umpteen' covers it.

Leus Du Plooy has reached his first century of the season in the County Championship and how Derbyshire needed something from him today.

They were 85-5 when Anuj Dal joined him in the middle in the second over after lunch and the two are still together having put a partnership of 162 on the board.

Du Plooy has 104 from 202 balls, including 13 fours, and Dal has batted nicely for his 86. The new ball, which is the fifth of the innings, has just been taken.

  14. wicket

WICKET Neesham b Milnes 33published at 17:29 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 267-7

    Another one for Kent!

And at long last it's down to a decent bit a bowling.

A big inswinger from Matt Milnes round the wicket beats Jimmy Neesham's drive and knocks middle and off stumps flat on the floor.

A wonderful sight for the bowler and Kent are now on top with 12 overs left of the day.

  15. 100 runs

for Leus du Plooypublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Durham v Derbyshire 239-5

Liam Trevaskis is factionally short and Leus du Plooy rocks onto the back foot to hit his 13th four and reach a 196-ball hundred.

It's a good day for South Africans, following the five-fors by Simon Harmer and Kyle Abbott.

  16. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Hampshire 2-0 v Warwicks 217

Felix Organ and Iain Holland are the Hampshire openers.

Organ takes a single from Oliver Hannon-Dalby's first delivery, but that is the only run off the bat in his over - the other is a leg bye.

  17. wicket

WICKET Rew c Bailey b Williams 70published at 17:22 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Lancs v Somerset 250-5

    Finally the breakthrough for Lancashire!

The dream of a century in his maiden Championship innings is over for James Rew.

But it's still a very good show from the 18-year-old.

A dismissal he will rue though, chipping a full, straight delivery straight to square leg.

Ends a wonderful partnership of 145 in 43 overs between Rew and Lewis Goldsworthy.

A stand Somerset desperately needed from 105-4.

  18. Division Two round-uppublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

A fourth batting point is in Sussex's sights and they are now 340-3 in the 81st over against Leicestershire - with Tom Alsop 130 not out.

Leus du Plooy is five runs short of a hundred for Derbyshire against Durham - they are 232-5, with partner Anuj Dal 79 not out.

Tom Helm has had Jack Haynes caught for nine at Northwood and Worcestershire are 44-3, having bowled out Middlesex for 188.

Michael Neser has now gone for 42, bowled by Steven Mullaney, and Glamorgan are 279-8 against Notts.

  19. wicket

WICKET Cobb c Compton b Milnes 9published at 17:20 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 258-6

It's another total gift of a wicket from Northants.

Matt Milnes is short and wide with his first ball using the second new ball.

Josh Cobb leans back trying to uppercut and just steers it into the hands of backward point.

Kent surely cannot believe their luck here.

Four of the cheapest wickets you're likely to see.

  20. 250 runs

up for Somersetpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Lancs v Somerset 250-4

A second point for Somerset and this stand continues to grow.

That it's between a 21-year-old and an 18-year-old, both with career-bests, makes it all the sweeter.

Tom Bailey sharing the second new ball but goes for consecutive fours by Lewis Goldsworthy, both forced off the back foot through the off side, who is now up to 83.
