    Lancashire v Somerset 195-4

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire commentator

It's the first time in four years since Lancashire last played at Trafalgar Road and there is a full house at the home of Southport & Birkdale CC.

The ground has played host to first-class cricket since the 1950s, and previous games between these two sides include an appearance from Sir Viv Richards who smashed 189 in in 1977.

The club's current chairman, Andrew Carney, was in the crowd watching that day 45 years ago.

The bar is doing a roaring trade, the weather couldn't be better and the new chairman's aim to convince Lancashire to return to the West Coast has been rewarded so far.

    Yorkshire 260-5 v Surrey

Jonathan Tattersall pulls a short ball from Will Jacks for four in the final over before tea at Scarborough to reach 50 off 95 balls.

He has played the supporting role superbly in an unbroken stand of 135 with Adam Lyth, who is 108 not out at the interval.

There is still batting to come for Yorkshire on what has now become a tough one by the seaside for Division One leaders Surrey.

    Hampshire v Warwicks 185-8

Nathan McAndrew reaches his second 50 of the season by tucking Liam Dawson round the corner for a single.

It has taken him 79 balls and he has hit two sixes and four fours. What a vital contribution for his side it has been.

The future of Somerset's middle-order has been on show this afternoon, with Lewis Goldsworthy, 21, and James Rew, 18, putting together an unbroken partnership of 86 to keep Lancashire at bay.

It's a pitch that looks as if it might be offering plenty of help for the spinners later in the game. Promising. I'll say no more!

  5. Division Two round-up: 50 for Dalpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

Anuj Dal has reached 50 for Derbyshire, who are now 178-5 after 62 overs against Durham - he has so far added 93 with Leus du Plooy (68 not out).

They are at tea at Northwood where Middlesex lost their last three wickets for 12 runs to be bowled out for 188. Luke Hollman made 68 and Tom Helm was 50 not out at the end.

Dane Paterson has taken his second wicket for Notts, Billy Root going for 12, and Glamorgan are 217-6 after 61.

Tom Alsop is just three runs short of a hundred for Sussex, who are 284-3 against Leicestershire in the 63rd over.

  6. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 206-3

Well until that lapse from Emilio Gay, Northants were enjoying a wonderful day having won the toss.

Not quite as dominant now with their centurion removed.

Luke Procter still there on 29 - from 85 balls incidentally - as they head off for a lemon squash.

    Yorkshire 250-5 v Surrey

Two runs to Adam Lyth off Tom Lawes and Yorkshire have their second batting point. This has been a fine recovery from 125-5 and Lyth is now 104 not out, with Jonathan Tattersall on 47 - their stand is now worth 125.

WICKET Gay c Linde b Denly 112published at 15:58 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 205-3

    Oh calamity for Emilio Gay.

Joe Denly is given a change-of-scene over before tea and finds the breakthrough!

He drags one down and Gay pulls it straight to midwicket.

    Awful cricket all round.

Kent won't care, they have a jolly nice breakthrough on the stroke of tea.

  9. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Essex 37-1 v Gloucestershire 136

A long, hard final session lies in store for Gloucestershire as Essex set out their stall to bat the visitors out of the game.

Alastair Cook is 19 not out off 61 balls, Tom Westley has nine and the current Essex scoring rate is 1.60.

Earlier, Gloucestershire lost their last four wickets for 32 after lunch, including Graeme van Buuren, who was run out for 34.

    Briggs b Dawson 22 (Hampshire v Warwicks 162-8)

Slow left-armer disposes of slow left-armer but Danny Briggs has only himself to blame as he decides not to play any kind of shot at Liam Dawson's arm ball.

His downfall ends a stand of 57 in 21 overs with Nathan McAndrew, who is still there on 36 not out.

  11. 200 runs

up for Northamptonshirepublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 202-2

A Richie Benaud scoreline for you as Northants raise a first batting point.

Luke Procter down the track to George Linde and whacks him over mid-on for four.

Steady progress at 3.3-an-over so time for a few more bonus points from here.

Three overs to tea at Canterbury.

  12. Tea at Southportpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Lancs v Somerset 191-4

    A session Somerset badly needed.

Just the one wicket lost - Tom Lammonby not long after lunch for 42 - but since then a good partnership between Lewis Goldsworthy and James Rew.

Goldsworthy went to fifty with consecutive fours of Luke Wells in 116 balls. He has 58.

Rew is 40 not out at the other end and the pair have shared 86 so far.

Somerset back in business having won the toss.

    Yorkshire 221-5 v Surrey

    Adam LythImage source, Rex

What a way to reach your second hundred of the season, and the 29th of your career - with a six.

The Scarborough crowd rise to acclaim Adam Lyth's 165-ball century and what a vital innings it has been after his side were reduced to 125-5.

There is no Root, no Malan, no Brook in the Yorkshire batting line-up - although Surrey have also been hit by England absentees.

    Hampshire v Warwicks 152-7

Nathan McAndrew takes a couple of steps and hammers Liam Dawson over long-on for six.

At the start of the next over, he chops a short of a length ball from James Fuller away for two and brings up the 150 for Warwickshire.

McAndrew is 34 not out and Danny Briggs has 14.

  15. Division Two round-uppublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

Leicestershire have seen off Cheteshwar Pujara at Hove, lbw for Colin Ackermann for 46, but Tom Alsop is 79 not out and Sussex are 255-2.

The partnership between Leus du Plooy (58*) and Anuj Dal (32*) is mounting at the Riverside, where Derbyshire are now 147-5.

Matthew Montgomery has marked his first Championship game with a catch to get rid of Kiran Carlson for 46, but Glamorgan are 189-5 after 54 overs against Notts.

Luke Hollman (61*) and Tom Helm (42*) continue to defy Worcestershire at Northwood, where Middlesex are now 174-7.

  16. Yorkshire claim batting pointpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Yorkshire 200-5 v Surrey

Jonathan Tattersall scampers down the track and whips Will Jacks away for four as Yorkshire secure their first batting point. That wasn't far away from the mid-wicket fielder but the runs are on the board.

  17. 100 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Kent v Northants 177-2

    Emilio GayImage source, Rex

Emilio Gay sweeps George Lindle through square leg for four to move to 98.

Luke Procter then takes an early single off Jack Leaning to give Gay five deliveries.

But Gay takes a single himself fifth ball and is on strike to Linde again...

And a nudge through square leg for a couple first ball brings up three figures.

Ah what a lovely moment for the 22-year-old.

Just a second first-class hundred after his maiden century, also at Canterbury, 13 months ago.

    164 balls and 17 fours.

Now can he go on and set the game up for his side?

  18. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Yorkshire 195-5 v Surrey

The partnership between Adam Lyth and Jonathan Tattersall is now worth 70 and Yorkshire are in sight of a first batting point.

Bowling won't be quite so much fun now for Surrey, but Jamie Overton's latest over is a maiden to Tattersall, who is 21 not out out - with Lyth still on 85.

  19. More balls than runs in CLSpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 11 July 2022

    Durham v Derbyshire 134-5

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It feels like we have had more balls than runs this afternoon. The players are now onto the fourth ball of the game and we have only had 50 overs of play.

The latest replacement lasted 10.2 overs. And during the last five overs there's been just one run.

Leus Du Plooy has 53 and Anuj Dal 25. They have put on 50 but it's slow going in the heat of CLS.

Just after lunch Chris Rushworth was on a hat-trick after bowling Brooke Guest for 26 and debutant Aussie, Hilton Cartwright, first ball. Dal saw off the hat-trick delivery, though.

It's clouded over here but is very muggy and the ice creams being enjoyed in the stands have us jealous.

    Essex 22-1 v Gloucs136

It's hard to imagine Alastair Cook batting the Bazball way, even at the height of his Test-playing powers.

Today he is focused on blunting the Gloucestershire new-ball attack with the aim of laying a platform for a big first-innings lead for his side.

Cook has 11 not out from 37 balls so far.
