  1. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Somerset 368-6 v Yorkshire

110 overs done at Taunton and so Somerset will claim four batting bonus points, and Yorkshire take two bowling bonus points.

Now it's a case of how many the hosts can pile on in their first innings.

  2. 50 runs

for James Vincepublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 302-4

A 71st first-class half-century for James Vince has helped Hampshire to a third batting point in Cheltenham.

What a mainstay he has been for his county for well more than a decade now.

  3. wicket

WICKET Jones b White 6published at 14:37 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Northants 235 v Lancashire 65-4

    Two takes.

Things are going wrong for Lancashire. And Jack White is a man possessed.

The Northants paceman has 3-10 after a vicious inswinger causes Rob Jones to chop on to his own stumps.

Debutant Washington Sundar the next man up for Lancashire. Skipper Dane Vilas being held down the order due to a bruised finger. With White in this mood, that's probably for the best for the visitors.

  4. wicket

WICKET Dawson c Van Buuren b Shaw 18published at 14:32 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 293-4

The ups and downs of cricket eh, Liam Dawson?

Not long after that six, he tries to go big again, this time off Josh Shaw, but only finds the waiting hands of Gloucestershire skipper Graeme van Buuren at square leg.

  5. 6 runs

for Hampshire's Dawsonpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 293-3

Zak Chappell has bigger things to worry about than the missing 'P' on his shirt (see 14:02).

He's just been absolutely swiped for six by Hampshire's Liam Dawson.

Chappell is still the pick of the Glos bowlers with 2-57 but this is a slog for the home attack as Hampshire approach a third batting point with seven wickets still in hand.

  6. Notts declarepublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Division Two latest

Leaders Nottinghamshire have just declared on 618-8 at Derbyshire. The bulk of the runs came from that record-breaking second-wicket stand of 402 between Ben Duckett (241) and Haseeb Hameed (196).

Cheteshwar Pujara is still going for Sussex at Lord's. The India batter has 156 not out in their 437-7 against Middlesex.

Lewis Hill has passed fifty for Leicestershire on day one against Glamorgan. The hosts are 180-3.

  7. Postpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Warwickshire 225 v Kent 165 & 8-0

We are into the third innings of the match at Edgbaston with the players back out after lunch.

Kent have a 60-run first-innings deficit to retrieve so it's no surprise to see them beginning cautiously.

Zak Crawley does have a couple of boundaries to his name, having said that.

  8. wicket

    WICKET J Overton b Harmer 5published at 14:16 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Surrey 112-7 v Essex 271

    Surrey's first innings is folding.

Spinner Simon Harmer gets in on the act now, bowling England's Jamie Overton with a sharp turner.

Tom Lawes comes in at nine in just his fourth first-class match.

  9. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Somerset 351-6 v Yorkshire

350 up for Somerset as Yorkshire's struggle for wickets on day two continues.

Lewis Gregory has moved past 60 while Kasey Aldridge has provided excellent support at the other end.

How many can the hosts push on to at Taunton?

  10. wicket

WICKET Steel b Snater 5published at 14:12 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Surrey 103-6 v Essex 271

Shane Snater has been magnificent today!

He gets Cameron Steel with an absolute beauty.

The ball nips away from the bat on a good length and hits the top of off stump.

The Essex paceman has 3-8 from 11 overs.

  11. wicket

WICKET Croft lbw b White 3published at 14:08 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Northants 235 v Lancashire 55-3

Northants snagged a wicket just before lunch - and they've got another soon after the resumption.

Steven Croft can have few arguments - Jack White's delivery is straight, low and wraps him on the pads.

Really delicately and intriguingly poised, this one.

  12. 150 runs

for Sussex's Pujarapublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

Cheteshwar Pujara continues to look a class apart in Division Two this season - everything he does seems effortless.

This is his 10th innings for Sussex and his fifth century. The India right-hander hit 203 against Durham in April - can he top that against Middlesex? Sussex are 427-7 at Lord's.

  13. A Chappell by the wrong namepublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 260-3

Zak Chappell took that wicket of Felix Organ and he looked pumped up in doing so.

He might have been angered by the Gloucestershire kitman - the seamer's name is spelled Chapell on the back of his shirt today.

    Someone's taken the P.

  14. 50 runs

for Gregorypublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Somerset 328-6 v Yorkshire

Back under way at Taunton and Lewis Gregory goes to fifty.

The Somerset all-rounder edges Jordan Thompson just past second slip and down to the rope.

It's been a vital knock for his side.

  15. wicket

WICKET Foakes c Lawrence b Snater 11published at 13:48 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Surrey 95-5 v Essex 271

A fifth wicket for Essex straight after lunch!

Ben Foakes pokes one in the air off Shane Snater straight to point where Dan Lawrence takes the catch.

Snater has been outstanding. He has 2-4 off 9.1 overs.

  16. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Surrey 95-4 v Essex 271

The afternoon session is under way at The Oval.

Surrey still trail by 176 and Ben Foakes and Will Jacks have a bit of rebuilding to do.

  17. 'Gregory looked assured'published at 13:46 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Somerset 324-6 v Yorkshire

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

A quiet morning's cricket, in which we lost half an hour to drizzle, the only incident of note being the wicket of Somerset's skipper, Tom Abell, who was pinned lbw by a Matthew Waite in-swinger, having added only two to his overnight 114.

There has been some swing for the quicker bowlers, but Lewis Gregory has looked assured, with stoic support from Kasey Aldridge.

  18. wicket

WICKET Organ c Bracey b Chappell 118published at 13:44 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 253-3

Just a few minutes after bettering his best first-class score, Felix Organ departs for 118.

He'll be annoyed at the manner of his departure, flashing a Zak Chappell ball into the gloves of James Bracey.

But it's still been an excellent innings from the Hampshire opener, setting a fine platform for his side. With James Vince still in situ, they will hope to add at least a couple more batting points to the two they've picked up so far.

  19. Hampshire resumepublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 243-2

After a delay of almost two hours, play has resumed at Cheltenham with Felix Organ (112no) and James Vince (25no) moving Hampshire on to 243-2.

Organ, by the way, has registered his best ever first-class score, surpassing his previous mark of 107.

  20. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Warwickshire 225 v Kent 165

That wicket is the last action of the morning session at Edgbaston as lunch is taken.

Sam Hain's 99 has helped Warwickshire establish a 60-run first-innings lead. But Navdeep Saini (5-72), Matt Milnes (3-41) and Sam Billings' seven catches have kept Kent in this match.
