  1. Postpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Somerset 267-5 v Yorkshire

A key morning awaits at Taunton as captain Tom Abell resumes on 114.

Early wickets for Yorkshire could swing the balance in their favour, but any sort of partnership for Somerset would set them on course for a big first-innings total.

    All to play for.

  2. Partnership record awaits for Nottspublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Derbyshire v Notts 443-1

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett have resumed batting for Nottinghamshire and a four to Ben Duckett has taken their second-wicket partnership to 397.

They need just one more run to set the highest-ever second-wicket stand for the county and another 10 runs to break the highest partnership for any wicket.

  3. 6 runs

for Hampshire's Vincepublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 213-2

Boom! What a start to the day from James Vince!

The Hampshire skipper rewinds the clock to their T20 Blast triumph last weekend.

He takes a step forward and wallops Zafar Gohar out of the ground.

Duncan Cobbett: I really hope Notts let Ben Duckett have a good crack at beating Lara's 501* today! Please encourage Duckett and Haseeb Hameed to try and push on Notts to an all-time world record score over 1000 - once in a generation opportunity! Our place in the top two of the table is very secure so let's break some records!

    Some lofty aims there, Duncan!

  7. Today's weather forecastpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 20 July 2022

After Tuesday's record temperatures around the country, we are back to something approaching normal on Wednesday, thank goodness.

It's still going to be very warm but there is the possibility of rain, with a risk of thundery showers, particularly across the Midlands.

We cricket fans usually despise downpours but after the last couple of days, is it fair to say even we wouldn't mind the odd shower today?

Hit the thumbs up for yes, a bit of rain, please - thumbs down for no, keep it dry.
