for Grant Stewartpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 235-7

A single for Grant Stewart brings up a super half century.

He's hit seven fours and a six and coming in at number eight, he has provided some real momentum for Kent.

  2. wicket

HAMPSHIRE BOWLED OUT FOR 218published at 18:09 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Fuller c Kohler-Cadmore b Thompson 22 (Hampshire 218, Yorkshire 159)

James Fuller is last man out, Jordan Thompson has a fifth wicket, Tom Kohler-Cadmore has a fourth catch - and Hampshire have a 59-run first-innings lead.

And Yorkshire have a potentially uncomfortable few overs left to face tonight.

  3. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Wells b Morley 90published at 18:05 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 223-7

    That has come from nowhere!

Jack Leaning was starting to motor, but Jack Morley gets one to grip and it takes the edge of Leaning's bat before Luke Wells take a sharp chance low down at first slip.

That is unfortunate that he won't reach three figures.

But coming in at 12-3, two century partnerships, first with Joe Denly and then Grant Stewart, have put Kent in a great position.

  4. Durham set up interesting final hourpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Durham 421-7 v Middlesex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have given themselves an hour to bowl at Middlesex at the end of day two, having declared 127 overs into their first innings.

Michael Jones top-scored with 206, a career-best total, including century partnerships with Alex Lees, Scott Borthwick and David Bedingham.

Durham lost a few quick wickets towards declaration as they looked to accelerate, allowing Toby Roland-Jones to finish with 4-67 in 28.3 overs. He now has 42 County Championship wickets against Durham.

It could be an interesting final hour but it does look another flat track here and there are no overhead conditions which look like they may favour the bowlers at the moment.

Chris Rushworth has taken the new ball. He needs three wickets for 600 in first-class cricket.

  5. 50 runs

Half-century stand for McKerr & Overtonpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 294-8

Important partnership this from Conor McKerr, who has equalled his career-best on 29, and Jamie Overton.

A half-century stand, within sight of a third batting point - and also a healthy, growing lead.

10 overs left in the day.

  6. Postpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 222-6

Washington Sundar's delivery spins past Grant Stewart and races down to the boundary for four byes.

But it's enough to bring up the 100 partnership. It has come off 140 deliveries to put Kent in a commanding position.

  7. Northants looking for a big leadpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 331-6

Lewis McManus and James Sales are steadying the ship for Northants and have taken their side into the lead.

McManus has scored 20 off 23 balls and he's just hit spinner Zafar Gohar for six.

  8. Division Two updatepublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

Wayne Madsen has gone for 69 and Derbyshire are 186-6, leading Worcestershire by 131.

James Pattinson has taken three and Dane Paterson the other as Nottinghamshire have ripped into the Sussex batting. They are 48-4, trailing by 192.

Three wickets in as many overs at Chester-le-Street where Durham are 421-7 against Middlesex.

  9. wicket

    WICKET - Abbott c Kohler-Cadmore b Patterson 22published at 17:50 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 204-9

Yorkshire skipper Steve Patterson takes a big wicket as he removes Kyle Abbott for 22.

The South African's power hitting is put to an end as he gives Tom Kohler-Cadmore a third catch.

Last man in is Mohammad Abbas.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 195-6

Grant Stewart almost sends one into the Kent dressing room with a big blow off Tom Bailey - the first maximum of the match.

With the sun out and the clouds drifting away, this is a good time to bat.

And Kent have the chance to almost bat Lancashire out of the match with 22 overs still left today.

  11. 200 runs

Hampshire's first batting pointpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 203-8

The first batting bonus point of this match.

It did not look too likely at 72-6, but the 88-run stand between Ben Brown and Keith Barker turned it round for Hampshire and gave them the lead - and now Kyle Abbott has plundered four fours in a quickfire 21 to ease them past the magical 200-mark.

    The Hampshire lead grows.

  12. Postpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 171-6

Grant Stewart cracks a one-bounce four off the spin of Washington Sundar.

That's enough to bring up the 50 partnership for the seventh wicket after two wickets in four balls straight after tea from Tom Bailey.

    Kent now lead by 26.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Procter b T Price 78published at 17:31 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 297-6

Luke Procter plays on to Tom Price.

A third Northants batter gets past 50 but can't get to three figures as Gloucestershire continue to fight back after tea.

  14. wicket

    WICKET - Brown c Tattersall b Thompson 53published at 17:26 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 175-8

Straight after reaching his own half-century, Ben Brown follows Keith Barker back to the hutch, to earn Thompson his fourth wicket.

Kyle Abbott comes in. He can be dangerous.

  15. wicket

    WICKET - Lammonby b Harmer 17published at 17:22 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Essex 505-9 dec, Somerset 40-1 (9.4 overs)

    Here we go again . . .

Simon Harmer enters the attack - and the Essex spin king strikes with his third ball.

It's his 45th wicket of the season - and an astonishing 28 of those came in his previous two home games for Essex at Chelmsford.

New man in is Tom Abell.

  16. Leaning playing a fine handpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 156-6

    Jack LeaningImage source, Getty Images

Jack Leaning straight drives Luke Wood for four to move to 64 and take Kent's lead into double figures.

After coming in at 12-3, the stand-in skipper is doing a sterling job for his side.

  17. wicket

WICKET Keogh c&b Chappell 13published at 17:14 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 293-5

Rob Keogh offers up a leading edge and Zak Chappell grabs the return catch.

Gloucestershire are slowly dragging themselves back into contention. The question now is to see if they can keep the pressure on.

  18. wicket

    WICKET - Barker c sub (Luxton) b Thompson 52published at 17:13 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 160-7

Keith Barker's fun comes to an end as he chances his arm once too often and holes out off Jordan Thompson for a run-a ball 52.

Eight fours and one six in the former Warwickshire County Championship title winner's 29th first-class half-century.

Ben Brown remains on 45, now joined by James Fuller.

Only three wickets left - but Hampshire have the lead.

It's a third scalp for Thompson, who now has 100 first-class wickets.

  19. 200 runs

Michael Jones' first double centurypublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Durham 380-3 v Middlesex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Congratulations to Durham's Michael Jones for the first double century of his career.

He got there off 373 balls (28 fours and two sixes), before then getting out for 206 late in the day, unfortunate to be given out LBW to a ball from Toby Roland-Jones which looked to be heading down leg when it clipped his thigh pad.

Either way it was a cracking knock. He faced 381 balls and put on stands of more than 100 with Alex Lees, Scott Borthwick and David Bedingham.

Bedingham is now on 55 and Durham have accelerated in recent overs. I think they will declare tonight to have a pop at Middlesex with a half an hour or so to go.

They managed four batting points before the 110-over cut off came, leaving Middlesex with the one bowling point.

  20. 50 runs

Half-century for Keith Barkerpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 159-6 (40 overs)

Keith Barker is dropped by Ben Coad at long leg - and then takes full advantage with a straight six to reach his 50.
