  1. wicket

WICKET Denly c Lavelle b Bailey 59published at 15:54 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 118-4

    A big breakthrough for Lancashire!

Joe Denly had batted excellently for his 59, but he has been drawn into a shot he does not want to from Tom Bailey and it gets enough of an edge to carry through to the wicketkeeper.

Denly tosses up his bat in frustration as that ends a partnership of 106 in 235 deliveries.

  2. wicket

WICKET Rickelton c Bracey b Gohar 95published at 15:53 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 245-3

Right on the stroke of tea, Ryan Rickelton is out.

It's a legside strangle off Zafar Gohar, but the South Africa man falls five short of what seemed a certain hundred.

  3. wicket

    WICKET - Dawson c Kohler-Cadmore b Thompson 10published at 15:48 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 72-6

Batting is still not much fun at Scarborough.

Liam Dawson is the latest Hamnpshire player to go, to become a second victim for Jordan Thompson.

Two each now for Thompson, skipper Steve Patterson and Ben Coad.

Keith Barker, never an easy man to get out, has come in to join Ben Brown.

  4. 100 partnershippublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 112-3

Kent have now reached the same score on which Lancashire started the second day before losing the last six wickets.

It is a 100 partnership for Joe Denly and Jack Leaning and for the first time in the game, bowlers do not look like taking a wicket.

  5. wicket

    WICKET - Harmer c Lammonby b Renshaw 26published at 15:41 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Essex 466-7 (155.4 overs) v Somerset

Simon Harmer is the seventh Essex man to go at Chelmsford as the hosts roll remorselessly on.

Shane Snater is the new man in.

Double centurion Nick Browne remains on 216.

  6. wicket

    WICKET - Jacks c Burgess b McAndrew 44published at 15:41 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 159, Surrey 212-6

Will Jacks is the next Surrey man to go, caught behind off Nathan McAndrew, to earn the beleaguered Bears a second bowling point.

  7. 200 runs

Surrey earn first batting pointpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 201-5

Surrey go past 200 to earn a first batting point from this game - and edge a little nearer to a first-innings lead.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 228-2

When you have the trouble Gloucestershire do in bowling sides out, you have to take your chances.

But Miles Hammond has just put down Ryan Rickelton at extra cover, as the South African remains on 88.

  9. 50 runs

for Joe Denlypublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 97-3

Joe Denly clips Jack Morley out to midwicket for three to bring up a terrific half-century.

It has come off 105 balls and included only two fours.

He really had to dig in before lunch against some excellent bowling, but when the threat has dropped since then, he has accelerated nicely.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

Derbyshire are now in big trouble at New Road. Worcestershire have reduced them to 93-5, a lead of only 38.

Steven Mullaney has brought up his 50 for Nottinghamshire as they are 176-7 with Sussex.

Australia batter Nic Maddinson has been run out for 17 for Durham, but they are still 276-3 against Middlesex.

  11. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 86-3

There is now spin at both ends with left-armer Jack Morley into the attack.

And with the sun out, this is definitely the best time to bat in this game so far and Joe Denly and Jack Leaning are taking advantage.

  12. wicket

    WICKET - Pope c Davies b Wheal 65published at 15:14 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Surrey 173-5

Ollie Pope has hit the highest score so far in this game but he is now gone, a fifth victim for Warwickshire's all-seam attack - and a first Bears scalp for new loan man Brad Wheal.

No doubt his primary employers Hampshire, Surrey's main title rivals, will be hoping Wheal can now wheedle out one or two more.

  13. wicket

    WICKET - Vince c Kohler-Cadmore b Patterson 15published at 15:11 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 52-5

    Another one gone at Scarborough.

This time it's Hampshire skipper James Vince, a second victim for Yorkshire skipper Steve Patterson.

A good fightback this from the Tykes in admittedly still very much bowler-friendly conditions.

Ben Brown comes in to join Liam Dawson.

  14. Borthwick in the runs against Middlesex againpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Durham 257-2 v Middlesex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham skipper Scott Borthwick reached his half century against Middlesex - and then got out.

It was still the eighth time he has gone past 50 against Middlesex (including two centuries), a reputation that a few years back led to him being dubbed "Bothersome Borthwick" by Karina Murtagh, the wife of the Middlesex bowler Tim - and he still averages over 50 against them.

Durham's opening stand with Jones and Alex Lees was 141.The second-wicket pairf made 107.

Already on day two I am struggling to see how someone can win this one. It's another flat track and the overhead conditions, which seemed to he helping Middlesex earlier in the day, have gone.

  15. wicket

WICKET - Weatherley lbw b Patterson 23published at 15:05 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 49-4

Hampshre lose their fourth wicket at Scarborough as Yorkshire skipper Steve Patterson gets in on fhe act to remove Joe Weatherley.

  16. 200 runs

Nick Browne reaches double centurypublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Essex 428-6 (145.1 overs)

Nick Browne reaches his fourth career double century by carving a four to the third man boundary.

It is his first time past 200 since making 221 against Middlesex in 2017, which folowed his two in one season the previous summer, both against Derbyshire (a career-best 255 at Chelmsford in May 2016 before hitting 229 not out in the return game at Derby three months later).

  17. Same old problems for Glospublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 191-2

Ryan Rickelton and Luke Procter have eased to a stand of 56 and are looking untroubled at Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire's bowling is lacking penetration - again.

They have only once dismissed a team for less than 300 in the first innings this season, when they bowled out Northants for 288 in the first game of the campaign back in April.

  18. 50 runs

Ollie Pope hits half-centurypublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 143-4 (33 overs)

Ollie Pope delivers a beautiful off drive for four off Liam Norwell to reach his half-century - the first in this game.

51 from 61 balls. Eight fours, One six.

With his very next ball, he then almost departs to a huge LBW shout from Norwell.

  19. Highest stand of the gamepublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 65-3

Jack Leaning square cuts Luke Wood to the fence for four welcome runs as he and Joe Denly bring up the 50 partnership.

It is the highest one of the match and is threatening to put Kent on top, having first come together at 12-3.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

Harry Came is the latest Derbyshire man to lose his wicket. They are 79-3, a lead of just 24 over Worcestershire.

Nottinghamshire captain Steven Mullaney is trying to hold their innings together against Sussex, with him on 46 and the team 152-6.
