  1. 150 runs

Brown and Barker bombing alongpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 151-6 (39 overs)

The seventh wicket is proving a tough one to take in this match - for each side.

After Dom Bess and Will Fraine rescued Yorkshire from 33-6 yesterday with a 116-run stand, this time it's the turn of Ben Brown and Keith Barker.

They are both now on 44, having so far put on 79, to more than double their side's score.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

Wayne Madsen has reached 58 as Derbyshire edge to 153-5, a lead of 98 over Worcestershire.

James Pattinson has just removed Sussex opener Tom Clark to make 24-1 in response to Nottinghamshire's 240.

  3. Postpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 143-6

Grant Stewart has struck a couple of meaty blows for four as he provides valuable support for Jack Leaning, with 14 off 16 balls.

This feels like a decisive period. Lancashire need quick wickets, but if Kent get a good lead, they will feel in a strong position.

  4. 250 runs

Second batting point for Surreypublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 253-8

Surrey's ninth-wicket pair Jamie Overton and Conor McKerr help their side edge past 250 to claim a second batting point.

And they have now matched Warwickshire's score too.

It has taken 60 overs, slower than seemed likely when they first set off in pursuit. But that is still a lot quicker than the Bears were yesterday.

  5. wicket

    WICKET - Lawes c Hain b Norwell 12published at 16:47 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 244-8

Liam Norwell takes a second wicket as Tom Lawes is the latest Surrey man to depart.

Surrey still trail Warwickshire by nine runs.

Jamie Overton is the new man in to join Conor McKerr.

  6. ESSEX DECLARE ON 505-9published at 16:46 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Essex 505-9, Somerset 2-0

Essex lose two wickets in quick succession - Shane Snater and Aaron Beard - and that prompts skipper Tom Westley to pull out and declare, and save Jamie Porter for bowling duty.

Nick Browne had got to 234, denying him the chance to carry his bat - and leaving him 21 short of his career-best.

Somerset openers Matt Renshaw and Tom Lammonby come out to face Porter and Snater.

  7. 50 runs

for Jack Leaningpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 136-6

Jack Leaning edges one low past the slip cordon down to the vacant third man boundary for just his third four of the innings.

But it brings up his 50 in the over after he was dropped for the second time in the innings by Rob Jones at second slip.

  8. wicket

WICKET Taylor lbw b Gohar 1published at 16:38 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 257-4

A third wicket for Zafar Gohar.

Coming round the wicket, the left-arm spinner gets past Tom Taylor's bat and gets an LBW call in his favour.

  10. 50 runs

for Luke Procterpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Gloucestershire 317 v Northants 252-3

Luke Procter hits Ryan Higgins for four to bring up the third fifty of the innings.

Unlike Will Young and Ryan Rickelton, can Procter get to three figures?

  11. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Nottinghamshire 240 v Sussex

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Led by Ollie Robinson’s 4-44 Sussex have bowled Notts out for 240 in two sessions at Trent Bridge, despite half centuries from Steven Mullaney and Ben Slater.

On a green-tinged wicket the visitors made the most of favourable overhead conditions, with three catches taken at slip and three by the wicketkeeper.

After making 70, Notts captain Mullaney clearly looked aggrieved to be given out lbw against Brad Currie to a ball that appeared to be sliding down the leg side.

The home attack will have 34 overs in which to redress the balance after tea.

  12. wicket

WICKET Robinson lbw b Bailey 0published at 16:24 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 120-6

    Poor Ollie Robinson!

What a 24 hours the Kent player has had. He got a first-baller yesterday in a second XI game at Billericay.

Then this morning he found himself on a train heading to Manchester as a Covid replacement for Kent skipper Sam Billings.

He comes out to bat and is sent packing third ball, LBW to Tom Bailey and it's two in four balls since tea!

  13. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Warwickshire 253, Surrey 243-7

Surrey lost Jordan Clark for 27 just before tea, but they have almost overhauled the Warwickshire total.

They now trail by just 10, with Tom Lawes on 11 and Conor McKerr on 5.

    Key session coming up.

  14. wicket

WICKET Cox c Wood b Bailey 2published at 16:21 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 120-5

Back under way at Old Trafford and we have a wicket first ball!

Jordan Cox gets himself in a terrible tangle and spoons the simplest of catches to Luke Wood at wide mid-on.

  15. Teatime at Scarboroughpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Yorkshire 159, Hampshire 112-6

Hampshire's seventh-wicket pair Ben Brown and the ever reliable Keith Barker have turned things back the visitors' way here.

At 72-6 in mid-session, Hampshire looked like they might be facing a first-innings deficit.

They still might, but a stand of 40 in less than eight overs has rather dampened the home mood again.

Lancastrian Barker.has belted three boundaries in his 17 off 20 balls, while former Sussex wicketkeeper Ben Brown is on 32.

  16. Another England man practising at Old Traffordpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 120-4

    Matt ParkinsonImage source, BBC Sport

While the players have taken tea at Old Trafford, Matt Parkinson has used the time to get some valuable bowling work done.

Parkinson is not playing in this game for Lancashire, but is part of England's T20 squad with the first match of their T20 series with South Africa in Bristol tomorrow night.

  17. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Essex 486-7 v Somerset

Nick Browne goes to tea on 229, having equalled the second highest score of his career.

He is 26 short of his career-best 255 - made against Derbyshire in 2016.

  18. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Durham 333-3 v Middlesex

Durham head to tea on triple Nelson and on course for a big first innings score.

  19. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Lancashire 145 v Kent 120-4

Kent were so close to getting through the session wicketless until the late fall of Joe Denly.

  20. Tea at Worcesterpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 26 July 2022

    Worcestershire 185 v Derbyshire 130 & 117-5

    Dan Wheeler
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Derbyshire have made it to tea without any further losses. But a finish inside two days is still possible after the Pears hit back in the afternoon session to curb Derbyshire's charge towards a challenging target.

Dillon Pennington nipped out two, with Joe Leach also adding a couple before Hilton Cartwright signed off in fairly ignominious fashion for Derbyshire, toppling forward to be stumped down the leg side off Josh Baker's first ball.

Wayne Madsen, who brought up his 1000 runs for the season, holds the key along with first-innings fifty-maker Anuj Dal.

The lead is only 62 at tea. They need to add another 100 at least you fancy.
