    Somerset 209-8 v Gloucestershire 343

The first part of the day went well for Somerset, who collected the final four Gloucestershire wickets for the addition of 23 runs.

But the visitors dominated the rest of the day despite an innings of 90 on debut by Pakistan's Imam ul-Haq.

Tom Price was the pick of the Gloucestershire attack and a maiden to James Rew to end the day gives him figures of 4-49.

Both sides need a win from this game - but both will have to keep a close eye on the weather.

David Payne to James Rew. One run from the final ball. Last over of the day coming up.

  5. Close of play at Cardiffpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Glam 111-2 v Worcs 454-9d

That late loss of Eddie Byrom has just checked what was until then a smart Glamorgan reply.

It’s a day that belongs to Gareth Roderick at Sophia Gardens.

His career-best 172 not out helped Worcestershire build from 285-7 into a very strong score.

Joe Leach played a great hand too, making 87 from number nine.

David Lloyd fell early in reply but Byrom and India’s Shubman Gill, who will resume 34 not out tomorrow, were going very well until Byrom’s late demise.

  6. Postpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 208-8 v Gloucs 343

Another over ticks by at Taunton as Sajid Khan steers a ball from Tom Price past the slips for four. A deliberate stroke - no edge there.

There are two more for Somerset to survive before the close.

  7. Somerset earn batting pointpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 200-8 v Gloucs 343

James Rew drops the bat on it and takes a single off Tom Price - Somerset have their first batting point with four overs to come after this one.

  8. wicket

WICKET Byrom c Cox b Gibbon 67published at 18:19 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Glam 103-2 v Worcs 454-9d

Just when Glamorgan could sniff a gin and tonic they lose Eddie Byrom.

Ben Gibbon, third ball back into the attack, gets one to straighten on the left-hander from a tight line and finds a thin edge behind.

    Three overs remain.

  9. wicket

WICKET Raine c Guest b Conners 4published at 18:17 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 222-9

Durham have lost their last five wickets for 26 runs in the space of 10 overs.

Ben Raine is the latest to go, caught behind off Sam Conners, who now has figures of 3-54.

Chris Rushworth negotiates the final ball of the over and that is stumps for the day.

  10. Close of play at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Notts 201 & 390-7 dec v Leics 93 & 20-0

The first job is done by Leicestershire's openers, who survive a testing 13-over mini-session to stumps at Trent Bridge.

There are two days to go but only the most optimistic Foxes follower would think they will get close to their 499 target.

Notts eventually declared their second innings after half-centuries by Haseeb Hameed, Joe Clarke and Lyndon James - Hameed still needs another 24 runs to reach 1,000 for the season.

  11. Postpublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 194-8 v Gloucs 343

James Rew is fortunate - Ajeet Dale is unfortunate, depends on which side of the West Country cricket divide you are.

Paceman Dale finds the edge of the left-hander's bat, but it flies into a big gap between second slip and gully and away for four.

Rew moves on to 28 not out.

  12. 6 runs

Postpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Glamorgan 93-1 v Worcs 454-9 dec

Ed Barnard bangs the ball in half-way down.

He's not quick enough for that and India's Shubman Gill pulls it away in emphatic style for six.

Six more overs to come at Sophia Gardens and Gill is 27 not out, with Eddie Byrom on 64.

  13. Close of play at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 77-1

They’re done in West End - having been very lucky to get quite a bit of cricket in - with the home side enjoying an excellent second day.

Hampshire did what they have often done recently and scrapped away from the darkest corners.

At 230-6 after losing Liam Dawson very early, Northants would have had high ambitions to keep them under 300.

But Aneurin Donald played a fine counterattacking knock, 94 from 84 balls, to raise a third batting point.

Then came a huge bonus as Kyle Abbott, from number 10, slugged seven fours and two sixes, to haul his side all the way to maximum batting points.

Northants have started well in reply but lost Will Young.

  14. wicket

WICKET Mackintosh c Potts b Dal 0published at 18:07 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 216-8

Having run out Paul Coughlin, Nick Potts shows a safe pair of hands at point to send Tom Mackintosh on his way for a duck.

It's Anuj Dal's second wicket of the innings.

  15. Postpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Notts 201 & 390-7 dec v Leics 93 & 16-0

A single to Hassan Azad off Dane Paterson ends the latest over at Trent Bridge. There are just two more for the Leicestershire openers to survive today.

  16. wicket

WICKET Coughlin run out 16published at 18:03 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 216-7

Great work by Nick Potts, whose direct hit from mid-wicket runs out Paul Coughlin at the bowler's end as he tries to sprint through for a single. Tom Mackintosh is the new batter.

  17. Postpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 186-8 v Gloucs 343

Sajid Khan is at the crease now for Somerset.

He may be number 10 but he does have a first-class hundred to his credit.

Khan gets off the mark with a single from the bowling of Ajeet Dale. Partner James Rew is on 24.

  18. Postpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 210-6

Sam Conners angles the ball into Paul Coughlin and the Durham all-rounder heaves it over mid-wicket for four.

A risky stroke, but it paid off for him that time. Seven more overs to come after this one has been completed.

    Notts 201 & 390-7 dec v Leics 93 & 15-0

    Sam EvansImage source, Rex Features

Whatever happens in the rest of this game, Leicestershire opener Sam Evans has certainly done his reputation a bit of good.

A well-timed push brings him four more off Luke Fletcher as he moves into double figures.

  20. wicket

WICKET Davey c Bracey b Dale 8published at 17:49 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 179-8 v Gloucs 343

Josh Davey tries to drive Ajeet Dale but it leaves him off the pitch and James Bracey snaffles his fourth catch behind the stumps before hurling the ball triumphantly into the air.

Somerset are 164 behind with just two wickets left. Could Gloucestershire's winless run this summer come to an end in the West Country derby?
