    Notts 201 & 185-2 v Leics 93

The Nottinghamshire lead is fast approaching 300 at Trent Bridge.

Joe Clarks top edges over the keeper's head for four and he is 36 not out, with Matthew Montgomery on 28.

They have added 59 in nine overs since Haseeb Hameed's dismissal.

There are still over seven sessions left in this game, but could they be contemplating a declaration later on today?

  2. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 83-3 v Gloucs 343

Just one run for Somerset from the last two overs at Taunton.

Imam ul-Haq is 33 not out and Lewis Goldsworthy has six.

  3. 50 runs

for Michael Jonespublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 93-2

Michael Jones swivels to pull Luis Reece away for a couple and reach 50 off 72 balls.

He follows that with a couple of fours through the leg-side but Durham lose their second wicket as Scott Borthwick lobs to square leg off Ben Aitchison.

Sean Dickson was first to go, for 28, caught behind off Aitchison after trying to cut without moving his back foot across.

  4. wicket

WICKET Leach c Root b Harris 87published at 14:08 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Glamorgan v Worcs 423-8

Relief for Glamorgan as Joe Leach tries to pull a short ball from James Harris and top edges a catch to Billy Root.

Leach put on 167 with Gareth Roderick, who is 153 not out and has now been joined by Dillon Pennington.

  5. wicket

WICKET Barker b Procter 14published at 14:06 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 273-7 v Northants

As they did first thing this morning, Northants strike just after the restart.

Keith Barker is late on one from Luke Procter on a length just outside off.

Not entirely sure what he’s trying to do, just hangs the bat out and only manages to edge into his stumps.

Aneurin Donald still there for the home side on 58.

  6. wicket

    WICKET Bartlett b T Price 33published at 14:05 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 74-3 v Gloucs 343

That's the fourth or fifth 'no shot offered' dismissal in this round of matches. George Bartlett lifts his bat out of the way and has his off stump sent flying by Tom Price.

He won't want to see that again.

  7. Postpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 22-1

That will make Finlay Bean feel a whole lot more comfortable as he pushes Will Williams through mid-on for his first boundary.

A great stroke and he follows it with an off-drive which is also straight out of the coaching manual and brings him four more.

  8. 150 runs

for Gareth Roderickpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Glamorgan v Worcs 421-7

Gareth Roderick dabs Kiran Carlson to third man, jogs through for two and reaches 150 off 328 balls.

It's been a tremendous innings for his side and partner Joe Leach is 87 not out. Their stand is worth 166.

  9. 100 runs

for Feroze Khushipublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Kent v Essex 442-7

Essex were a little sloppy this morning and allowed their strong position to slip a little.

But Feroze Khushi has kept things together very nicely and goes to a maiden first-class hundred in this his seventh match.

160 balls with 14 fours and a six.

What a wonderful moment for the 23-year-old Essex local.

If he can stay with the lower order - Ben Allison doing a great job at the moment - there’s a chance to bat his side out of sight.

  10. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 14-1

After 18 dot balls, Finlay Bean has his first Championship run for Yorkshire with an inside edge to mid-wicket. Very little being given away by Lancashire at the moment.

  11. wicket

WICKET Lyth c Bohannon b Williams 13published at 13:47 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 13-1

Adam Lyth prods at a delivery from Will Williams but inside edges onto the pad and Josh Bohannon snaffles an easy chance at short leg.

George Hill - who took six wickets in Lancashire's first innings - is in at number three.

He joins Finlay Bean, who is still to open his account.

  12. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 62-2 v Gloucs 343

A tidy over by Tom Price yields only a single for Imam ul-Haq.

Imam - who is 30 not out - and George Bartlett are five runs short of a 50 partnership.

  13. 2pm restart at Ageas Bowlpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 273-6 v Northants

A little hasty in writing things off on the south coast maybe.

There is a little window and they are going to try and get back out at 2pm.

How much more they get in remains to be seen.

  14. wicket

WICKET Hameed c Swindells b Finan 60published at 13:41 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Notts 201 & 128-2 v Leics 93

    Haseeb HameedImage source, Rex Features

Only Haseeb Hameed will know what he was trying to do there.

Just 24 runs short of 1,000 in the Championship for the season, he attempts some sort of swirling uppercut and ends up facing keeper Harry Swindells who has just taken the catch to dismiss him.

It was a swish worthy of Sir Simon Rattle - but without the same aesthetic value.

  15. Postpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 10-0

Two Will Williams overs faced by Yorkshire opener Finlay Bean. Two maidens. You can only imagine how tense he must be feeling, making his first-class debut in a Roses match.

  16. Postpublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 10-0

Adam Lyth strokes Tom Bailey through the covers - but does it have the legs to reach the rope on a dampened outfield?

No it doesn't, but the Yorkshire opener is able to complete an all-run four before Josh Bohannon's throw reaches the keeper.

  17. Division Two round-uppublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

Nottinghamshire are now 125-1 in their second innings against Leicestershire, with Haseeb Hameed 58 not out, a lead of 233.

Worcestershire are 396-7 against Glamorgan, with Gareth Roderick 140 not out and Joe Leach on 75. Their stand is worth 140, an eight-wicket record for Worcestershire against the Welsh county.

There has been no resumption because of rain at Derby, where Durham are 79-0, replying to the home side's 306 all out.

  18. rain stops play

Raining at Ageas Bowlpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 273-6 v Northants

The early lunch came and went in West End.

I think maybe I was optimistic thinking there may have been a window of drier weather.

Rain continues to fall and the odds are lengthening on any more play there today.

  19. Bean in the spotlight for Tykespublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 6-0

    Remember Finlay Bean?

He made 441 for Yorkshire in a second XI game against Notts at the end of June. Today, he is opening for the Tykes in a Championship game for the first time.

The 20-year old from Harrogate is at the non-striker's end as Adam Lyth tucks Tom Bailey away for the first boundary of the innings.

Lyth adds two runs and Bean will be on strike to Will Williams at the start of the second over.

  20. Postpublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 43-2 v Gloucs 343

The afternoon session is under way at Taunton and it's been tidy stuff from Gloucestershire so far, apart from a wide full toss by Ajeet Dale, which Imam ul-Haq spanked to the cover boundary.

The Pakistan opener is 17 not out and George Bartlett has 16.
