Relief for Glamorgan as Joe Leach tries to pull a short ball from James Harris and top edges a catch to Billy Root.
Leach put on 167 with Gareth Roderick, who is 153 not out and has now been joined by Dillon Pennington.

As they did first thing this morning, Northants strike just after the restart.
Keith Barker is late on one from Luke Procter on a length just outside off.
Not entirely sure what he’s trying to do, just hangs the bat out and only manages to edge into his stumps.

That's the fourth or fifth 'no shot offered' dismissal in this round of matches. George Bartlett lifts his bat out of the way and has his off stump sent flying by Tom Price.
He won't want to see that again.

That will make Finlay Bean feel a whole lot more comfortable as he pushes Will Williams through mid-on for his first boundary.
A great stroke and he follows it with an off-drive which is also straight out of the coaching manual and brings him four more.

Essex were a little sloppy this morning and allowed their strong position to slip a little.
But Feroze Khushi has kept things together very nicely and goes to a maiden first-class hundred in this his seventh match.
160 balls with 14 fours and a six.
What a wonderful moment for the 23-year-old Essex local.
If he can stay with the lower order - Ben Allison doing a great job at the moment - there’s a chance to bat his side out of sight.

Lyth adds two runs and Bean will be on strike to Will Williams at the start of the second over.
