It's the second wicket of this spell for Sam Conners, who also had Jonathan Bushnell caught behind.

  5. Bad light stops play at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 77-1

Still 14 overs scheduled near the south coast and I’m not sure of the revised close time after rain earlier today.

Northants will be hoping that’s their work for the day done.

  6. Close of play at Old Traffordpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancashire 276 v Yorkshire 130-4

With dark clouds overhead at Old Trafford, the umpires decide no further play will be possible on day two.

Lancashire only managed to add four to their overnight 272-8, but Yorkshire have found batting far from easy in reply against tight bowling despite a composed 42 on debut by opener Finlay Bean.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is 24 not out and skipper Jonny Tattersall is on 14.

  8. Close of play at Canterburypublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Kent 74-4 v Essex 573

The light isn’t improving at the St Lawrence ground so it’s the end of day two.

Essex began it with a good position to bat their hosts out of the game.

But when they lost three morning wickets that wasn’t looking likely at 383-7.

Feroze Khushi then played the innings of his short career, with a maiden first-class hundred, eventually extended to 164.

He shared very handy stands with the lower order and did indeed bat Essex out of sight.

Jamie Porter and Sam Cook have then removed the Kent top order and it’s now a long, long way back for the home side.

  9. wicket

WICKET Bushnell c Guest b Conners 35published at 17:28 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

Just one run from Joe Leach's latest over but rain returns at Sophia Gardens and we have another hold-up.

Eddie Byrom is 52 not out and Shubman Gill has 21 and they have so far added 58 for Glamorgan's second wicket.

  11. Bad light stops play at Canterburypublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Kent 74-4 v Essex 573

    Just what Essex didn’t want.

They’re all over Kent here and would have wanted another six overs under the floodlights.

  12. wicket

WICKET Aldridge b Shaw 4published at 17:21 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Somerset 163-7 v Gloucs

The Somerset collapse from 157-4 continues.

  13. Bad light stops play at Old Traffordpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancashire 276 v Yorkshire 130-4

A single to Jonny Tattersall from Tom Hartley's latest over. The left-arm spinner has bowled five now at a cost of just eight runs.

The umpires aren't happy with the light, though, and decide to take the players off with 16 overs remaining in the day.

  14. Postpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 129-4

George Balderson gives Tom Kohler-Cadmore too much width and he cuts it away for four runs. He'll feel better for that.

  15. wicket

WICKET Denly c Rossington b SJ Cook 11published at 17:15 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Kent 70-4 v Essex 573

Joe Denly can’t see the day through and Sam Cook has a second wicket.

It’s a pretty poor one for Denly, playing a long way away from his body.

A lazy poke forward aiming at cover and a thin edge behind.

  16. wicket

WICKET Moores c Ackermann b Barnes 28published at 17:14 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Notts 201 & 390-7 dec v Leics 93

You don't often see eight no-balls in the scorebook, but Ed Barnes oversteps and Liam Patterson-White manages to pull it away for six.

The Notts declaration comes moments later when Tom Moores slices to deep backward point.

Bottom of the table Leicestershire will need 499 to win.

  17. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Lancs 276 v Yorks 121-4

Following two successive maidens, Jonny Tattersall adds a single off George Balderson to get the Yorkshire scoreboard moving again.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has certainly calmed down since his 6-4 double off Matt Parkinson several overs ago. He is 20 not out.

  18. wicket

WICKET Young lbw b Abbott 27published at 17:10 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 68-1

Northants were about to reach the halfway point in their evening’s work in great shape but Kyle Abbott has found the breakthrough.

He goes a touch wider on the bowling crease and gets one to nip in a fraction to beat the inside edge.

Will Young had got too far across, couldn’t cover the movement and is struck on the back pad stone dead.

20 overs left in West End.

West End anyone? It’s to the east of Southampton and surely Botley is too small to deserve a West End?

  19. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 6 September 2022

    Kent 70-3 v Essex 573

10 overs left in the day at Canterbury and Kent are trying to settle after slipping to 40-3.

Joe Denly has played two very pleasant clips off his legs for four.

Jack Leaning has cut Ben Allison for his first boundary and Chinese Cut him past his off stump to a ball that kept a fraction low.

Kent desperately need this pair to see out the day to be able to come back tomorrow with hope.
