Ben Stokes is the new batter. Who knows what to expect from the skipper.

That one bounced a bit and that's what did the job.

Pope punches his bat as he walks off and England have lost four before lunch. He went for the reverse sweep but it was a miscue.
Abrar Ahmed has brought Pakistan right back into this game.

Well I've only gone and jinxed it.
Ollie Pope was looking so comfortable but he gets the reverse sweep all wrong and the ball loops up to Abdullah Shafique at backward point for a routine catch.
Pope is absolutely furious with himself as he walks off.
Abrar Ahmed now has four!

You have to run really hard on this ground because the boundaries have been pushed back. The boundary ropes are nearly 80 yards out.

That was an inviting delivery from Nawaz and Pope was on to it by whipping it away.
Mohammad Nawaz tees one up for Ollie Pope and he takes full advantage, thrashing a half-volley wide of mid-on for four.
Pope has looked in good touch this morning.

In the old days, I'd be fearing an England collapse and Pakistan still having their first bat by tea on day three. These days I'm excited at the prospect of England having won, taking 20 by the same time. They won't always win, but better to have tried to win, than trying not to.

It would be lunch round about now but we've got another half-hour to go today because of a longer lunch interval for prayers.
That's a shame as it has been a fascinating first session. It may fill up as the day progresses though.
Just the one run from Abrar Ahmed's latest over. He is 3-57 from his 10 overs so far.

A lot of empty seats, we were promised a bigger crowd than this.

Pope reaches another fifty from 52 balls after that century at Rawalpindi. A fifty on a very different pitch, I think that's important to say. This pitch is going to grip and turn unlike the marble that was laid out in the last game.
It is a 10th Test half-century for Ollie Pope off 52 balls as he nudges Mohammad Nawaz into the on-side for a single.

The aggressive manner in which England play, it does bring about opportunities for the bowlers.

We have just seen a brilliant replay of Abrar Ahmed's reaction when the decision was overturned. He almost couldn't believe it.
Harry Brook is the new batter. He gives himself a couple of sighters before smashing the ball back over mid-wicket for four to bring up the England 150.
The run rate is now exactly six an over.

Arjun Singh: That’s the worst I’ve seen Root play spin in years. Caught betwixt and between too often. As always happens, Abrar will take a hatful in this innings. Next time, he won’t get any. Same thing happened when Kuldeep Yadav came to England the first time.

He's missed it by a mile, they didn't need UltraEdge for that.
There we go, Aleem Dar gives it out. It's the fourth overturned decision today.

Another brilliant review by Pakistan!
Abrar Ahmed now has three wickets on his debut.
