After growing frustrated by how long that run out check took, the home fans have something to cheer as Conway hits Root back over his head for six.

Lovely, clean strike of the ball and I think any thoughts of a follow-on can be forgotten now. That's been the case for a while, really.

Leach is too short to Blundell a couple of times in the over and is punished with a boundary thumped through point.

New Zealand have to target one of the England bowlers and with the seamers keeping it tight, even with little assistance from ball or surface, it looks like Leach is the man.

Robinson tries Conway out with a short ball and the batter is happy to take it on. A controlled pull shot for one.

Blundell clips a single to fine leg to complete the scoring from the over.

Leach works his way though a steady over, just the one from it after an expensive one following the drinks break.

Conway drives beautifully through the covers for four and the repeats the shot with slightly lesser timing to get three.

Blundell then gets off the mark with a expertly played late cut for four.
