    Jordan lbw b Zampa 14 (Eng 199-7)

Hitting middle stump and Dawid Malan loses yet another partner!

Smart bowling from Zampa, fizzing in a quicker ball and Jordan tries to pull - but it skids on and crashes into his back leg.

Still 13 overs left, Malan on 96.

This one is out. It's a quicker ball and he's foxed by it.

    OK, and now the opposite.

Chris Jordan is given lbw on the field, and he fancies a look at it. But I think this is out.

  4. Not outpublished at 36.3 overs

    Eng 199-6

Absolutely middled it on to his pad.

How on earth did Zampa or the keeper not hear that?!

I think there might have been a little bit of bat involved there.

  6. Australia reviewpublished at 36.3 overs

Adam Zampa convinces his captain to go upstairs for an lbw on Chris Jordan.

Has he hit it? Jordan looks very chilled, although he always does.

Dawid Malan will be proving a point with this innings because he was effectively dropped for the T20 World Cup final.

Every player when they are dropped has that extra fire in their belly. He's played a lone hand today and he's been exceptional.

If he'd got out cheaply England would have been in real strife and potentially bowled out for that 150 mark. It has been a gritty innings.

Out of nowhere, Chris Jordan goes for a big heave over cover but miscues it, the ball luckily falling short of Marnus Labuschagne on the boundary.

He taps his helmet as if knocking some sense back into himself, because he's got to stay out there and support Malan.

Adam Zampa doesn't look happy with himself there. The ball was just angling down the leg side.

  10. Eng 193-6published at 35 overs

Oh, lovely! Consecutive sweep shots from Dawid Malan find the boundary and England take 14 from a rare bad over from Adam Zampa.

    Malan on to 92...

Glory: Criminal that Dawid Malan isn't in the Test squad. Still our best option at number three.

  12. Eng 181-6published at 34 overs

    It's gone a bit flat.

England tick five runs from Ashton Agar's over. I remember being in school when he hit that 98 in the Ashes, and watching on my phone at lunchtime.

As you can tell, I was really cool as a teenager.

This is a key part of the game. These two have to be there with 10 overs left.

  14. Eng 176-5published at 33 overs

Dawid Malan crashes the last ball of Cameron Green's over for four as the bowler drops too short, and he moves into the eighties.

If England lose a wicket in the next five overs you feel like they'll be bowled out.

Ugh, Matt. A bacon sandwich sounds heavenly right now.

An apple for breakfast has never felt so underwhelming.

Matt Harrison: At least it wasn’t Malan ran out! For a fleeting moment, bacon sandwich enjoying my attention, I thought it was. If he gets out we’re in a pickle!

That run out was not ideal. England needed a partnership to take it as deep as possible.

We talk about doubling your score after 34 overs, but that is when you have wickets in hand.

These two are going to have to stick around if England are to get around 270.

  19. Eng 162-6published at 31 overs

Chris Jordan is the new batter. I doubt he's best pleased about being at the crease in the 31st over.

It's a long tail for England and they've got a lot to do.

That is a brilliant throw. Liam Dawson was so eager to get away from Marnus Labuschagne at short leg but the run was never there. He was barely halfway down the track.
