We went for a run yesterday. I think Henry and my mum were at least 90 metres ahead of me, and I'm supposedly the professional athlete.
Malan 30, Buttler 14
Mitchell Starc returns for Australia. He concedes just two singles and a wide from the over.
I did say a crowd was starting to build. The Adelaide Oval is still quite sparse. The cameraman has just got better at picking out pockets of people.

Jos Buttler doesn't look like he's lost his form since the T20 World Cup final that was... three days ago.
Jos Buttler is some player. We should all enjoying watching him over the next couple of years.
He picks up another boundary with a beautiful punched drive. The timing was just unreal.
A crowd is building at Adelaide Oval, there's a fair bit of fancy dress too.

Dawid Malan latched on to that so quickly, it wasn't even that short but he's just helped it on its way.
Dawid Malan looks really good. He picks up four more with a shovel off his hips. It raced away.
England will want him to play the Joe Root role here, and just bat through as much of the innings as he can.

There's just enough out there for the Australia seamers. They are still asking plenty of questions of England.

Jos Buttler just made that look so effortless. He noticed mid-off and mid-on in the ring and just placed it perfectly over them.
Jos Buttler is going to play some shots here, I reckon.
He shuffles around to work his first ball into mid-wicket for a couple, before he chips down the ground for his first boundary.
He was in really good touch at the end of the World Cup so he'll want to carry that into this series.
Mitchell Starc on BT Sport: "It has been a pretty good start. It has been a nice first hour and 10 mins. If we pick up the next wicket we'll be fine.
"It is important to use the powerplay in ODI cricket. We've got Jos [Buttler] out here now so it a good opportunity to get at the captain."

That's a great comeback. A wobble ball from Marcus Stoinis nips back through Billings' defence and it's a brilliant delivery after being hit down the ground for four.
Billings b Stoinis 17 (Eng 66-4)
Four and out.
Sam Billings plays a superb straight drive, but with his confidence starting to flow, he's bowled through bat and pad.
He leaves a huge gap as he looks to whip into mid-wicket and the ball crashes into middle stump.
There's a little bit of movement back in from Marcus Stoinis, but it is a poor shot to be honest.

England's strongest XI would obviously have Rashid, Curran, Ali and Woakes in, but it's just about finding that balance.
They've just won a World Cup and it's so draining finishing a tournament like that so England have had to rotate. Australia haven't had that.
Malan 23, Billings 13
Screams of catch from Australia as Sam Billings looks to pull Cameron Green away, but doesn't connect cleanly at all.
Thankfully for Billings, and England, it lands safely in the mid-wicket region.
The average winning score at the Adelaide Oval is 276 by the way. England will have to bat very well from here to get that.

I've got too used to T20. I forgot how slow 50-over cricket is.

Bit of a predetermined shot from Dawid Malan but he's hit it perfectly.
Dawid Malan picks up another boundary with a well-placed slog-sweep. He looks in good touch.
There's an unnecessary chat with Ashton Agar, as he complains to the umpire, saying Sam Billings prevented him stopping a Malan drive.
Billings did nothing wrong and as such Paul Reiffel effectively tells Agar to stop whinging and get on with the game.
A first look at spin as left-armer Ashton Agar comes into the attack.

Pat Cummins set the standard with the ball with a good line and length, he's been the pick so far.
Cameron Green is just settling in but Australia are ahead at this stage.
