    Warwicks 150 v Surrey 52-2

Surrey's total reaches 50 as Ryan Patel pulls a short of a length delivery from Hasan Ali away for his first boundary. Still very little being given away by Chris Rushworth at the other end, though.

  2. wicket

    WICKET - Lloyd c Ackermann b Wright 0published at 14:44 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407 v Glamorgan 0-1

David Lloyd's innings lasted just two balls. A thick edge off Chris Wright flies to Colin Ackermann at second slip for a routine catch.

A perfect start for Leicestershire, less so for Glamorgan.

Marnus Labuschagne is rushing to get out there. Not sure he was expecting to be called upon so soon.

  3. Postpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Middlesex 71-5 v Kent 186

Ryan Higgins has made a half-century in every match so far this season and he's clearly looking for another one here against Kent.

He's just produced two textbook back-foot punches through cover off Grant Stewart in successive deliveries. How Middlesex could do with another big one from him here!

  4. wicket

WICKET du Plooy lbw b Raine 20published at 14:37 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Durham 452-9d v Derbys 49-6

    There’s no stopping Durham here.

Leus du Plooy got himself going but drives past one that swings in from Ben Raine round the wicket and is nailed lbw.

  5. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Warwicks 150 v Surrey 42-2

In comes Hasan Ali and Rory Burns dangles his bat unconvincingly, the ball flying off the edge and down to third man for four.

That is much better - the England opener steers it through the covers on the front foot for another boundary and he is 24 not out.

    Durham 452-9 dec v Derbyshire 35-5

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham are running through Derbyshire under the lights in CLS. The visitors lost both openers for ducks, inside the first eight deliveries and were 6-4 at the end of the third over.

Then there was a lull of nearly seven overs before the fifth wicket fell! Matty Potts has taken three and Ben Raine two.

Raine got Billy Godleman lbw for a fifth ball duck in the one over of before lunch. He would later claim the wicket of Brooke Guest, also lbw, for two.

Potts bowled Haider Ali for a second ball duck in the second over, then demolished Wayne Madsen's stumps when he was on four. Matt Lamb was on 15 when he tried to hook a bouncer from the England bowler and was caught by keeper Ollie Robinson.

Statistician Gary Morgan has informed us this is the second time Durham have taken the first four wickets in a Championship innings, where all four batsman have failed to get beyond four runs. The last time was here in 2003 and Somerset were dismissed that day for 56.

  7. wicket

    WICKET - Eskinazi c Billings b Quinn 17published at 14:34 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Middlesex 62-5 v Kent

Big scalp. Matt Quinn into the attack and strikes with his first ball. Stephen Eskinazi had to play at it, but it's nipped back and clipped the inside edge on its way through to Sam Billings who tumbles to his left.

Ryan Higgins joins John Simpson. Kent have their tails up, still 124 ahead.

  8. dropped catch

Let-off for Patelpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Warwicks 150 v Surrey 33-2

Chris Rushworth resumes for Warwickshire and Rory Burns steers his first delivery through cover for two.

Rushworth finds the edge of Ryan Patel's bat later in the over but Dan Mousley shells the catch in the slips.

  9. wicket

Leicestershire 407 all out v Glamorgan

    Peter HandscombImage source, Rex Features

He's gone. Heartbreak for Peter Handscomb who danges a bat at a Michael Neser delivery, edging to the keeper and then looking to the heavens.

He and Rehan Ahmed (90) added 177 for the sixth wicket which has put the hosts firmly in control, though Timm van der Gugten collected 6-88 and there were two wickets apice for Michael Neser and David Lloyd too.

  10. wicket

    WICKET - Holden c Billings b Stewart 6published at 14:29 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Middlesex 62-4 v Kent 186

Max Holden prods at an in-swinger from Grant Stewart, going around the wicket, and nicks behind to Sam Billings, who takes a neat low catch as the ball dies on him. Lovely bowling from Stewart and the conditions are helping too.

John Simpson is the new man, joining Stephen Eskinazi.

  11. wicket

WICKET - Barnes c Cooke b van der Gugten 5published at 14:27 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Leicestershire 407-9 v Glamorgan

Big swipe from Ed Barnes but all he can do is feather an edge to Chris Cooke to become Timm van der Gugten's sixth scalp of this innings.

A third bowling point for the visitors.

Michel Finan is last man in, can he help Peter Handscomb get over the line and into three figures? He's five short at present.

  12. wicket

WICKET Lamb c Robinson b Potts 15published at 14:24 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Durham 452-9d v Derbys 35-5

    Another for Durham!

Matty Potts bounces Matty Potts who hooks at it and gloves it behind.

  13. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Middlesex 56-3 v Kent 186

    Wes AgarImage source, Rex Features

Wes Agar bangs a short one in at Max Holden which rises up to beat the bat and thump him on the upper left arm on its way behind.

Agar hangs around, staring, looking for any sign of weakness. Tough stuff. Holden knows better than to rub it.

  14. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Durham 452-9d v Derbys 30-4

What can Derbyshire do to repair this wreckage?

Leus de Plooy and Matt Lamb have both got themselves into double figures so that’s a start at least.

  15. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Leicestershire 400-8 v Glamorgan

    Peter HandscombImage source, Rex Features

Peter Handscomb cracks a single off David Lloyd to move to 90 and secure his side's fourth batting point.

Not sure we see a six over slog in pursuit of another. Glamorgan will however be keen to whip their hosts out in short order and begin their reply I'm sure.

  16. wicket

    Glos v Sussex 58-2

A wicket for the Glosters with conditions dry enough at last in Bristol.

Ali Orr has fallen to Zafar Gohar’s left arm spin.

  17. wicket

    WICKET - Wright c Salter b Lloyd 14published at 14:08 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Leicestershire 388-8 v Glamorgan

Another one down, another for David Lloyd, much better than he was yesterday!

Chris Wright clips one away into the leg side but gets under it and offers a diving catch to Andrew Salter in the deep. Good hands and a timely breakthrough. Leicestershire are still short of the fourth bonus point.

Ed Barnes joins Peter Handscomb, who is unbeaten on 81.

  18. wicket

    WICKET - Robson c Crawley b Agar 20published at 14:04 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Middlesex 47-3 v Kent 186

Stunning catch by Zak Crawley. Wes Agar gets one to straighten up on Sam Robson, finds the outside edge and Crawley gets his big frame down low to his right at second slip to take a fine two-handed catch.

Lively stuff at Lord's where a giant celestial orb has peeped out from behind a blanket of cloud. Unusual. Someone had better check that.

Max Holden replaces Robson in the middle. The deficit is still 138.

  19. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Leicestershire 384-7 v Glamorgan

Grace Road has the feel of Erinsborough or Summer Bay this week, such is the number of Australians showcasing their skills in this game.

Marnus Labuschagne is introduced to the bowling attack, seam not spin, thus far, by Glamorgan. He tends to make things happen. One of those things is Chris Wright clipping him past the diving Eddie Byrom to the deep square leg boundary.

  20. Bowlers still on top at Edgbastonpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 28 April 2023

    Warwickshire 150 v Somerset 30-2 - lunch

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

It's been an intriguing contest when the players have been able to get out on the field. Another hour was lost this morning before the match resumed.

Two outstanding bowling attacks have been taking advantage of favourable conditions while some top batters have done their best to resist.

Warwickshire's Dan Mousley wasn't able to continue his excellent innings for long. Running out of partners he holed out in the deep without adding to his overnight 55. But the Bears will have been delighted to remove Dom Sibley and Ollie Pope before lunch.

Any sort of first innings lead for Surrey will be valuable but they have plenty of work to do to get there.
