  1. 50 runs

partnershippublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Durham 223-9 v Yorkshire 254

    Well how about this?

Ajaz Patel drives Matt Fisher through cover for four and then swings a top edge over the 'keeper's head to bring the fifty stand up with Bad de Leede.

How jolly annoying for Yorkshire whose lead is now only slender.

    Rushworth c Harmer b Bracewell 9 (Warwickshire 172-9 v Essex 126)

Another one falls at Edgbaston, where batting looks really tough going.

Chris Rushworth can only find Simon Harmer's bucket hands at second slip, attempting to swing Doug Bracewell away over the off side.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is the last man.

  3. 100 runs

for James Rewpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Lancs v Somerset 251-6

A stunning innings from a young man with a massive future!

James Rew cuts George Balderson away for four to bring up his third first-class hundred, and his third against Lancashire.

He came to the crease with Somerset 55-4, and has dug his county out of a real hole.

A hundred from 233 balls made under pressure.

WICKETpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Rhodes c Pepper b Bracewell 63 (Warwickshire 154-8 v Essex 126)

A collapse of epic proportions for Warwickshire!

It's the key wicket of Will Rhodes as well, who is furious with himself, playing at a ball he didn't need to and nicking through to Michael Pepper.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Briggs lbw b Cook 2 (Warwickshire 154-7 v Essex 126)

And now Danny Briggs is out second ball, attempting to leave Sam Cook!

  6. wicket

NORTHANTS ALL OUTpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Berg b Hutton 23 (Northants 158 v Notts)

A handy 23 from Gareth Berg to at least nudge Northants away from complete humiliation.

But he's cleaned up by Brett Hutton, who completes a five-wicket haul, 5-37, on his return to Northants.

He last played here for Notts back in 2017, after which he moved down the M1 and that three-year stay at Wantage Road really made his career.

So a case of the devil-you-know for Northants as he returns to run through them today.

They suffered a disastrous collapse of 7-17 in the second hour of the morning.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Burgess c Pepper b Bracewell 0 (Warwickshire 151-6 v Essex 126)

Two in quick succession for Doug Bracewell.

  8. 200 runs

up for Durhampublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Durham 200-9 v Yorks 254

This is an excellent rally from the Durham final pair Bas de Leede, on debut, and New Zealand's Ajaz Patel, who's struck three fours.

They've managed to add 27 so far and it's squashed down the Yorkshire lead from healthy to only handy.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Barnard b Bracewell 28 (Warwickshire 147-5 v Essex 126)

    Comprehensively bowled!

Ed Barnard misses a big, booming drive at Doug Bracewell and has his stumps rearranged.

  10. 100 runs

up for Surreypublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Surrey 101-2 v Middlesex 209

Runs are just flowing here for Surrey.

Jamie Smith has played four scoring strokes so far, all for four and three of them have been some of the sweetest drives you'll see.

Rory Burns has now pulled Toby Roland-Jones over square leg for six to bring the hundred up.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Aldridge c Wells b Mitchell 46 (Lancs v Somerset 241-6)

    A much-needed wicket for Lancashire!

Kasey Aldridge has batted very nicely, putting on 106 with James Rew for the sixth wicket.

However, he is drawn into the drive by Daryl Mitchell, and nicks to Luke Wells, who clings onto this one.

Craig Overton is the new man.

  12. Postpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Lancs v Somerset 232-5

Just to give you a sense of how much Lancashire are missing James Anderson out there...

England's greatest took 2-16 in his 14 overs yesterday, but the rest of the attack have only managed 3-193 between them, in addition to 37 extras.

James Rew is into the 90s at Old Trafford.

Anderson is off the field with a 'minor issue that's being assessed' we were told earlier.

After losing 7-17 before rain arrived, Northants are back out to try and add a few for the final wicket.

  14. 50 runs

for Rory Burnspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Surrey 76-2 v Middlesex 209

A mistake here from Rory Burns.

He steps down to Ethan Bamber and tries to clip to leg but gets a thick outside edge that flies in the air briefly.

But it's safely past extra cover and away for his seventh four.

Brings him fifty in 68 balls.

    Raine b Hill 4 (Durham 173-9 v Yorks 254)

    Yorkshire almost there now.

Ben Raine aims a big drive at George Hill from round the wicket and gets cleaned up.

  16. Elsewhere in Division Two...published at 14:48 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Debyshire lost opener Haider Ali early on but have steadied things since against Gloucestershire. They're 47-1 with Harry Came unbeaten on 30.

Both Worcestershire openers have gone cheaply once again in their second innings at Glamorgan. Timm van der Gugten dismissed Ed Pollock and Taylor Cornall for single figure scores. The visitors are 48-2 and still 101 runs behind.

Sussex are in good shape at Leicestershire. Tom Alsop and Cheteshwar Pujara have put on 75 for the third wicket to take their side to 128-2.

  17. Yorkshire on top at chilly Durhampublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Durham 169-8 v Yorkshire 254

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Runs have been hard to come by for Durham today. The conditions are great for bowling. It's damp, cold and murky. The lights are on too. Contrast that to Yorkshire's innings yesterday which took place in the warmth and brilliant sunshine.

But Yorkshire have also done their bit with the ball, putting pressure on the batters throughout the day.

There's been only one partnership of note. Ollie Robinson added 61 for the sixth wicket with Graham Clark, but both are out now. That is the highest partnership of the match but no other pairing in this Durham innings has topped 30.

Robinson was on 44 when he chased a ball from Matthew Revis and clipped it to the keeper. That's the joint highest score of the game.

The bowlers are being rewarded for bowling stump to stump. The pitch is not the fastest and there's the odd bit of uneven bounce too.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Carse lbw b Hill 14 (Durham 167-8 v Yorks 254)

Brydon Carse made his maiden first-class hundred in his last game two weeks ago.

But back to earth here as George Hill skids one past his inside edge and traps him lbw. A third wicket for Hill.

Yorkshire closing in now and the lead is very healthy at the moment.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Clark c Lyth b Hill 33 (Durham 160-7 v Yorks 254)

Yorkshire continue to chip away at Durham and Graham Clark's handy innings comes to an end.

He's pushing out trying to defend George Hill but nicks a catch to the only slip in place.

Yorkshire really eyeing up a useful lead now with only the bowlers to come.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

    Patel c Holden b Higgins 5 (Surrey 62-2 v Middlesex 209)

Second wicket for Middlesex and Ryan Higgins has removed Ryan Patel.

Higgins was round the wicket, then goes over to the left-hander and sends a length ball across him.

Patel is trying to leave but doesn't get his gloves out of the way in time and deflects a catch to third slip.
