  3. Close of play at Bristolpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 20 May 2023

    Gloucestershire 181-6 - target 426

Matt Taylor has at the very least seen Marcus Harris through to the final day of the game.

Nicely done because it's not been at all easy - he had three close catchers in his face as Matty Potts completed that maiden over.

The Australian Harris is unbeaten on 71 overnight. Any hopes, however slim, of Gloucestershire completing a record-decimating run chase rest squarely on his shoulders tomorrow.

490 runs scored in Bristol today. 11 wickets fell.

Gloucestershire only need to score 245 more in 96 overs tomorrow, though Durham require just four wickets to take a 30-point strangehold on Division Two.

Sunday should be a lot of fun.

Marcus Harris works a single into the off side to start the penultimate over from Ajaz Patel.

Six Durham players crowd round Matt Taylor. Silliness and shortness everywhere you look.

Taylor manages to crack the ball past them all to trot through for a couple and clips the final ball of the over to square leg to retain strike for the final over from Matty Potts.

    Birmingham v Yorkshire

Yorkshire have made a great start at Edgbaston after asking their hosts to bat first, ripping out three Birmingham batters in the first five overs.

The top three of Rob Yates, Paul Stirling and Alex Davies are already back in the hutch with a wicket apiece for Ben Mike, Matt Revis and Jordan Thompson.

You can listen to that game here.

Matt Tayor flashes a drive outside off but misses the ball from Matty Potts. He got a 50 in his last game, how he'd love another, and more, this weekend.

Taylor leaves one which nips back within a couple of inches of the top of off but gets rapped on the pads from the fourth delivery - definitely drifting down leg, that, despite the strangled cries from the Durham corden.

Maiden over and Marcus Harris is back on strike against Ajaz Patel. Nicely done by Matt Taylor.

Fielders swarm around the bat as Marcus Harris takes strike against Ajaz Patel.

He drives into the deep for a couple to move to 70 but then backs off to one which Patel gets to rise on him.

He defends a quicker ball which skids through and can't get the single he wants to keep strike.

Matt Taylor will face Potts to start the next over.

Marcus Harris takes a single off the second ball to give Matt Taylor four balls to face from Matty Potts. He does so without undue alarm.

Four overs to come. Ajaz Patel with the next of them.

Left-armer Ajaz Patel has Zafar Gohar stumped for the second time in the match.

Ollie Robinson didn't take it cleanly and allowed Gohar to almost get his back bat in the crease. The batter is not happy, but perhaps his bat wasn't on the ground. Umpire Mark Newell certainly thought so.

The previous ball to Gohar found the edge but dropped just short of Matty Potts at slip.

Matt Taylor joins Marcus Harris to try to negotiate the rest of the evening session.

Potentially worrying news for England from Hove.

BBC Radio Sussex's Adrian Harms reports on Twitter that Paul Farbrace has confirmed that Ollie Robinson has a sore left ankle and will have a scan on Monday.

Robinson took the wicket of Eddie Byrom for 57 yesterday, but did not bowl after lunch on day three.

A couple of leg-side dabs for singles from Marcus Harris (67) and Zafar Gohar (11) for two off the over from Matty Potts.

    252 is the deficit.

Ajaz Patel is on at the other end. Six overs to come. You expect he'll split them with Potts.

A couple of lovely looking drives through the covers from Marcus Harris off Scott Borthwick takes the Aussie into the 60s. He's already surpassed his first innings 52.

Harris nearly gets another to the rope but the ball is hauled in just short and he has to settle for a couple before retaining the strike with a tucked single.

Seven overs to come. This next one will be from Matty Potts.

There have been 462 runs scored at Bristol today for the loss of 10 wickets, but the pitch is starting to show signs of what Durham wanted it to in the final innings of the match.

Some are jumping out of the rough, others are scooting through low. It's increasingly precarious to bat against spin by the looks of things.

Bas de Leede takes this over - one off it - but I'm not sure we don't see Ajaz Patel before long.. oh and they have Matty Potts resting too, he could be a problem.

    Eight to go. 265 adrift.

He's gone, from the very next ball. Scott Borthwick gets one to spit out of the rough and jump up at James Bracey who can only glance to David Bedingfield at leg slip.

    A nearly unplayable delivery, that.

Zafar Gohar is the new man and shows his intent, carting the second ball he faces from Borthwich for six over deep square and following up with a pulled four.

This is a popular one with the Bristol punters.

Bracey brings up the 150 as well as his own half-century with a tickle down his leg side off Scott Borthwick.

It took him 78 balls and that was his seventh four.

Bas de Leede steams in in the evening sunshine.

James Bracey moves onto 45 from 75 with a single before Marcus Harris dabs one into the covers for a couple to reach 53.

These two are rotating the strike nicely as Bracey keeps the strike with a pull into the legside for one.

Five off the over and the partnership is up to 88.

    10 to come.
