James Bracey's back-to-back fours off Ajaz Patel brings up three figures for the home side midway through the 23rd over.

Still 22 overs left tonight in a long evening session and the ask is 'only' 322 now.

The fall of Marnus Labuschagne offered Sussex a bit of hope, but this stand is up to 63 between Kiran Carlson and Billy Root.

Glamorgan lead by 115 and the home side still require six wickets before they can bat again.

This game could be set up for a thrilling Sunday.

Needing just two off the final over, Luke Wood's boundary got Lightning over the line with four balls to spare to ensure a winning start to the North group in the double-header at Edgbaston.

Rob Jones' finished unbeaten on 21 but it all owed so much to opener Luke Wells' 66 from 35 balls and 31 from Daryl Mitchell.

Zaman Khan ended with 2-41 and a runout while Zak Chappell took 2-33 for the Falcons.

Essex clear the first-innings deficit with a single for Tom Westley off Lyndon James.

Calvin Harrison comes in again from the other end and Alastair Cook drives another full toss through the covers for four to take the total to 150.

That'll do nicely for Worcestershire.

Adam Finch stretches forward and steers Wiaan Mulder through point for four crucial runs.

This is getting tense.

James Bracey finally has his swept four, and follows up with another boundary off a genuine edge, while Marcus Harris launches Ajaz Patel over deep midwicket for a one bounce four.

13 off the Patel over. He might count himself slightly unfortunate there.

344 more runs required.

Joe Leach turns the final ball of Chris Wright's over away for a single and will hang onto the strike.

Another 31 required by the home side but Leach is squared up at the start of the next from Wiaan Mulder and is relieved not to get a nick.

First bowl of the innings for Calvin Harrison and he starts with a full toss which Tom Westley drills down the ground for four. He won't mind a few more like that.

Kiran Carlson is in illustrious company as a former pupil of Whitchurch High School in Cardiff.

There are signs of one or two misbehaving but the Pears have two experienced men, Brett D'Oliveira and Joe Leach' at the crease.

Looks like Leicestershire are going to stick with their seamers. No sign of an over or two from Rehan Ahmed.

Just 30 needed from the last six overs for Lancs to become the first winners of the new season, though they have lost a few wickets of late.

Luke Wells eventually went for 66 from 35 balls and Daryl Mitchell rattled 31 from 19 but Colin de Grandhomme is still there on 19.

There's no third man and that is four more runs for Brett D'Oliveira.

The Worcestershire skipper played that one from Wiaan Mulder with soft hands, running it down past the two slips and he moves to 22 not out.

An anxious moment for Brett D'Oliveira as Chris Wright produces a delivery which spits off the track towards his helmet. He manages to avoid any serious damage but won't to see many more like that between now and the end of the game.

It's a maiden and Worcestershire still need 43 to win.

It's never good to see a player go off the field injured but Paul Coughlin left the action just three deliveries into his first over this afternoon. He missed last week's game against Yorkshire because of a side strain but was OK to return this week.

The last thing Durham need is another injury to a key bowler because they have already lost Brydon Carse for eight weeks.

Coughlin's departure did bring about a wicket though. Ben Raine had to replace him and soon had Miles Hammond caught at first slip by Michael Jones for 16. The batsman looked to leave a rising ball but it clipped his gloves.

Moments later Jack Taylor was stumped first ball off the bowling of Ajaz Patel and Gloucestershire's prospects of getting anything out of the game took a major turn for the worse.

Brett Hutton is short and the former England captain pulls it away for four. He is 60 not out.
