    Gloucs 200-6 - target 426

Only one slip in place as Marcus Harris clips Matthew Potts through mid-wicket for the 11th boundary of his innings.

The Australia tour management team will be very happy if he keeps on doing that sort of thing.

Two runs to backward point follow as Gloucestershire's total reaches 200.

Stuart Broad - no doubt well chuffed about Nottingham Forest's Premier League survival - will bowl over number two on the final day.

Tom Westley is on strike and eases the England paceman through the covers for four to advance to 76 not out.

    Glamorgan 123 & 499-5 v Sussex 481

No Ollie Robinson for Sussex, remember - he's awaiting that scan on his sore ankle tomorrow - so it's Ari Karvelas who opens the attack with a maiden to Chris Cooke.

All three results remain possible in this intriguing contest at Hove.

    Gloucs 186-6 - target 426

It's pretty clear what Durham think their most effective weapon will be as New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel is handed the ball straight away at Bristol.

One run for Marcus Harris before Matt Taylor - ringed by close fielders - hits the day's first boundary through mid-on.

Sir Alastair Cook has a first-ever hundred at Trent Bridge in his sights on the final day against Nottinghamshire.

Cook will resume on 87 not out - his highest score at the ground for either Essex or England - with both counties still hopeful of a positive result.

"He's ticked off a lot of milestones in his career and hopefully he can tick off another one. We'll look to play positively and you never know. There are different ways the game could go," said Essex all-rounder Matt Critchley.

"We are still very much in the game and if we go out tomorrow morning and make a few early breakthroughs we can put them under some pressure and hopefully chase something in the afternoon," Notts batter Matthew Montgomery said.

Australia batting star Marnus Labuschagne said he was "pretty happy where my game's at" ahead of next month's World Test Championship final against India at The Oval following his 138 on day three against Sussex.

Labuschagne hit four sixes and 16 fours at Hove as he and Kiran Carlson - who is still there on 187 not out - shared a stand of 288.

"(Friday) Afternoon, that spell facing Ollie Robinson, I really felt my game was in a nice space defending and moving into the ball, then there were periods of time where I lost a bit of rhythm and then got back into it," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"I just want to make sure that come that first Test Championship morning that I'm ready for the contest."

  12. Durham can exploit 'deteriorating pitch'published at 10:41 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Gloucs 292 & 181-6 v Durham 445 & 272-4 dec (play resumes 11:00)

    Michael JonesImage source, Rex Features

Opening bat Michael Jones has backed Durham to finish the job on the final day at Bristol and stretch their lead in Division Two ahead of the Championship break until mid-June.

He hit an unbeaten 121 on day three to set up the north-east county's declaration with a 426-run lead, and they need four more wickets for a fourth win in six games.

"I'm told Durham have never won a Championship game on this ground previously, so it's great that we're in this position," said Jones.

"The pitch is deteriorating all the time and I'm really pleased we're the team coming back and trying to take four wickets rather than the one having to bat last."

  13. Robinson to have ankle scanpublished at 10:36 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Sussex 481 v Glamorgan 123 & 499-5 (play resumes 11:00)

    Ollie RobinsonImage source, Rex Features

Sussex will have to manage without England paceman Ollie Robinson on the final day against Glamorgan at Hove.

They are still in with a chance of victory, with the Welsh county just 141 ahead with five wickets left, but Robinson was unable to bowl after lunch yesterday because of an ankle injury.

"He'll be scanned on Monday to see how bad he is," head coach Paul Farbrace told BBC Radio Sussex.

"We knew it was sore yesterday and that's why we got one spell out of him. It was precautionary really. There was no part in making it worse, and it's walking that makes it sore rather than running."

Omne trium perfectum - roughly translated, good things come in threes.

Let's hope that statement holds true today as wins for Surrey, Somerset, Hampshire and Worcestershire yesterday have left us with only a triumvirate of County Championship games.

A smattering of England and Australia stars will be out in the middle ahead of international duty next month, so welcome to our coverage.

    Play starts at 11:00.
