  1. 100 runs

up for Sussexpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Sussex 262 & 104-2 v Leicestershire 108

Tom Alsop works a single off Rehan Ahmed to take his side into three figures.

The over itself went for double figures with Tom Clark picking up a couple of boundaries from what we'll politely call looseners.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Luis Reecepublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 100-0

Lovely shot from Luis Reece, waiting for a wide ball outside off and carving through point for three.

His 50 comes in 91 balls with three fours and two sixes.

It also brings up the 100 partnership with Reece in 28.1 overs.

  3. 6 runs

Bohannon off the mark in stylepublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 93-1 v Middx 194

Well, that's one way to do it.

Josh Bohannon goes down the track and lofts a perfectly decent Josh de Caires length ball over long on!

  4. 50 runs

50 for Luke Wellspublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 86-1 v Middx 194

Luke Wells holds firm after that dramatic Josh de Caires over.

He goes to 48 with a firm drive through cover and reaches 50 in 65 balls with a back foot push through wide mid off.

11 fours in his innings to date.

    Lancs 80-1 v Middx 194

Josh de Caires almost gets two in the over as his last ball is tapped just out of the reach of forward short leg by Bohannon.

Middlesex have a foothold in this game now.

  6. Postpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Sussex 262 & 92-1 v Leicestershire 108

The run-rate has slowed somewhat with the introduction of some spin.

Colin Ackermann's first two overs went for a single apiece but during his third Tom Alsop times one superbly through the leg side off his hips to find the rope.

The lead is 246 and Leicestershire are staring down the barrel of a very costly defeat in the race for the one remaining promotion place.

  7. wicket

WICKET Jennings lbw b de Caires 29published at 14:45 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 80-1 v Middx 194

Josh de Caires is into the attack and strikes first ball!

Keaton Jennings is surprised. He was well forward in block mode - but that looked pretty adjacent.

    Josh Bohannon to bat next.

  8. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 85-0

Shot! Luis Reece waits on the back foot to carve Dom Goodman through point for four runs, taking the innings total past 80 with all ten wickets in hand.

At the other end, Harry Came plays down the wrong line to Ed Middleton getting a leading edge but the ball lands safely in the off side.

  9. wicket

YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 500published at 14:43 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

Cliff run out 1 (Yorkshire 500 v Glamorgan)

A rather undignified end to the Yorkshire innings as Tykes debutant Ben Cliff gets his first single in first-class cricket to help bring up the Yorkshire 500 and is then prompt;y run out by his partner Dom Bess.

Called for an impossible single by Bess, Cliff did not make his ground.

Glamorgan will bat in 10 minutes' time.

  10. 100 runs

up for Nottspublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Kent 446 v Notts 102-2

Steven Mullaney clips Nathan Gilchrist off his hip for a single to take the visitors into three figures.

Mullaney has 55 while Joe Clarke is on 34 after a delicious straight drive to the fence off Joey Evison.

    Lancs 78-0 v Middx

Four more for Keaton Jennings, carving a wide ball from Higgins through point.

    Lancashire looking comfortable.

  12. wicket

WICKET Coad c Ingram b Carlson 4published at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Yorks 495-9 v Glamorgan

The ninth wicket goes down at Sophia Gardens.

Ben Coad is caught behind off Kiran Carlson - and that allows an opportunity to bat for Ben Cliff on his first-class debut.

And he is quickly off the mark. Congratulations, Cliff.

  13. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 74-0 v Middx 194

Keaton Jennings is looking well set here as faces Higgins, moving past 20 with a flashing drive through wide mid off four four runs.

Jayant Yadav is getting a bit of grip and turn at the other end, conceding just a single off his third over.

  14. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 73-0

Dom Goodman is back into the attack, bowling his first spell from the Pavilion End.

Luis Reece and Harry Came each drop the ball into the on side for singles - and the fifth ball is pulled and top edged over the keeper's head for a streaky four.

  15. wicket

WICKET Brathwaite c McManus b White 9published at 14:32 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Northants 250, Warwickshire 23-1

Kraigg Brathwaite makes just 9 on his first Edgbaston appearance for Warwickshire.

The West Indies Test skipper managed just one boundary in his 46-ball stay before being undone by a very good ball from Jack White, who had him caught behind.

Skipper Will Rhodes is next in for the Bears to join Rob Yates, who is on 10.

  16. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 68-0 v Middx 194

18 overs in and we're changing the ball here at Old Trafford.

Lancashire got a ball changed this morning and struck straight away with the wicket of Toby Roland-Jones. Might that be an omen?

Jayant Yadav bowls to Luke Wells.

Wells is down the track to the second ball, driving down the ground for four runs.

The fifth ball is driven and edged just past first slip for four to third man.

  17. 50 runs

for Steven Mullaneypublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Kent 446 v Notts 92-2

The first of the season for Steven Mullaney... which seems ridiculous, having watched it.

The Notts skipper reaches the milestone from 66 balls with eight fours and a six. The eighth of those boundaries was the least convincing of all, chopping inches past his off stump off an inside edge off the bowling of former teammate Joey Evison.

  18. No hat-trick for James Harrispublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Yorks 488-8 v Glamorgan

No hat-trick for Glamorgan paceman James Harris.

Dom Bess defends the hat-trick ball at the start of Harris's next over.

You would imagine that it can't be long before the Tykes call a halt here.

Or would they prefer the landmark of getting past 500?

  19. 50 runs

partnership for Nottspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Kent 446 v Notts 83-2

Steven Mullaney and Joe Clarke are leading the recovery with an unbroken stand across 14 overs.

Plenty still in this pitch for the batters - not what many expected on the opening morning.

  20. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 60-0 v Middx 194

Luke Wells moves on to 35 with a firm straight drive off Ryan Higgins.

    Solid start from the left-hander.

Jayant Yadav is in the attack and his second ball is paddled away to backward square leg by Keaton Jennings for four more.

Batting has looked largely serene for the Red Rose so far.
