    Kent 446 v Notts 37-2

Esteemed football commentator Peter Drury is in the stands at Canterbury watching his beloved Kent trying to wrestle the initiative early in the Notts reply.

I'm sure he'd be able to conjure up a decent description of wily old Michael Hogan who has been bang on the money for his two wickets thus far, 42-years-old and making his 400th career appearance.

    Glos 377 v Derbys 30-0

Shaw is mixing lengths against Came, who is moving forward or back comfortably so far.

A hint of sunshine over Nevil Road now as Came misses an attempted glance of a full and legside ball from Shaw.

The last ball nips back in off the seam and Came leaves it outside off.

Yet to resume after lunch in Brumpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Northants 250, Warwickshire 1-0

After being kept waiting first by the umpires, then by Rob Yates, Kraigg Brathwaite's first bat for Warwickshire has been kept waiting just a little bit longer by a post-prandial passing shower.

But the hover-cover is now being helped off - and they are now set to restart.

Yates to face Jack White first, as he pinched the strike off the last ball before lunch . . ..

    Glos 377 v Derbys 29-0

Reece gets his first four with a pull to fine leg off Josh Shaw.

Four more runs at the other end for Harry Came with a confident lofted drive down the ground.

Came is down the pitch again to Zafar but doesn't quite get enough willow on the ball for runs this time.

  5. Postpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Lancs 10-0 v Middx 194

Solid start for the Lancashire opening pair, scoring 10 runs in the first four overs.

There's movement for Ryan Higgins and Ethan Bamber, albeit not as pronounced as we saw on Sunday.

Bamber's third over is a maiden.

    Sussex 262 & 30-0 v Leicestershire 108

Scott Currie put Tom Haines down in the slips in single figures, getting two hands to the ball to his right but failing to hold on.

Haines is making him pay with a couple of glorious flourishes to the rope for four off Matt Salisbury.

The lead is 184. That would be more than enough if Leicestershire repeat their batting performance of this morning.

  7. Play underway again at Bristolpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 16-0

Harry Came and Luis Reece are ready to resume the Derbyshire batting.

Spinner Zafar Gohar is into the attack early, no doubt targeting the footmarks outside left-handed Reece's off stump.

The second ball is swept square for a single.

Just the one run from the over. Shaw will continue from the other end.

WICKET Hameed c Finch b Hogan 9published at 13:21 British Summer Time 11 September 2023

    Kent 446 v Notts 29-2

Haseeb Hameed has an ill-advised nibble at one outside off from Michael Hogan and edges through to keeper Harry Finch.

Hogan has 2-11, Nathan Gilchrist is taking longer to find his rhythm at the other end, with Steven Mullaney sending any loose balls to the fence.

Mullaney is on 18 and is joned by Joe Clarke.

Just like the weather, Sussex seem set fair this afternoon after a superb first session.

An extraordinary morning at Hove with the visitors collapsing from their overnight 68-2 to 108 all out.

Arri Karvelas was the stand-out bowler taking 4-14, with Rishi Patel the only Leicestershire player to offer any resistance making 48.

This is a used pitch and a lead of 161 for Sussex puts them in the driving seat in a match they must win to maintain their outside chances of promotion.

    Glos 377 v Derbys 16-0

Four more runs to Came, neatly deflecting a leg side ball by Shaw through mid wicket.

A muted appeal for lbw next ball but it strikes high up on the pads.

Came blocks out the rest of the over - and that's lunch.

Derbyshire's day so far after removing centurion Ollie Price early this morning and wrapping up the Gloucester innings for under 400.

Reece is off the mark, not entirely comfortably, as he takes one hand off the bat and turns a Goodman ball through square leg.

Came picks up a single off the third and Reece has his second run, nudging a leg side ball away square.

The last ball brings three runs, tucked away through midwicket and picked up just inside the rope by Middleton.

Time for one more before lunch.

Lunch is at 12:40 here after a short rain delay this morning.

Josh Shaw appeals for LBW against Came but it's not out.

No problem for height. Seaming into the opener below the knee roll. Just missing leg?

The last ball of the over drifts into leg stump and Came clips it deftly through mid wicket for four.
