It's been a special effort from these Australians and Annabel Sutherland looks in great touch. A brilliant 50. Given the depth, all batters can bat with some confidence. We saw that from the word go yesterday, Phoebe Litchfield looked in great touch, played her shots beautifully. All of the batters have been able to go out with intent.

It is Annabel Sutherland's first half-century in all forms of international cricket. This is her fourth Test innings where she has batted, with her previous top score in Tests being just eight.

  3. Aus 359-7published at 96 overs

Lauren Filer bowls a peach to Annabel Sutherland with the third delivery of her latest over.

Its about fifth or sixth stump line and tempts a drive from Sutherland. There's some away swing through and a hint of movement off the seam, but no edge.

    England asking questions.

Some will say that is 50/50 so that is a good call from Anna Harris. The quicker ball yesterday got Ellyse Perry. That's one of the beauties of Sophie Ecclestone, she doesn't over bowl her variations.

The original decision was not out on field, and that stands on review. The ball-tracking technology showed it would have continued to skip on and deemed to be umpire's call.

Sophie Ecclestone has that aura that she looks like she will make things happen, though.

Fourth ball of Sophie Ecclestone's over and she's hit Alana King on the pad with a ball which has gone on with the arm.

King looks fairly relaxed, but England go for the review for lbw.

I think in 31 overs, Ecclestone only bowled three bad balls. If she overpitches, it brings the batters in.

  9. Aus 355-7published at 94 overs

A frustrating opening 40 minutes or so for England's seam bowlers so unsurprisingly Heather Knight shuffles her pack and pulls out her ace as Sophie Ecclestone is thrown the ball.

    Can she get the breakthrough?

I thought Australia might go hard at England this morning and get stuck in with the ball, but it seems the opposite.

They look prepared to bat for as long as they can, and grind England down.

With the five days, they do have time on their side to do that, and with 31 overs already in Sophie Ecclestone's shoulder, it's not a bad idea.

Fifty for Sutherlandpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

Annabel Sutherland brings up a maiden international half-century - in all formats - with a check drive back past Kate Cross which is cut off by diving mid-off but still allows the Aussie batter to pick up a couple.

It has come off exactly 100 balls.

It's just that extra bit of zip that Filer is able to generate. She beats Sutherland for pace, she was able to beat Perry for pace yesterday. I've liked what I've seen of Filer this morning. Fantastic bowling. Filer was fantastic on her first day of Test picking up the wickets of Mooney and Perry, She's definitely in the game.

  13. Aus 353-7published at 93.2 overs

A spicy delivery from Lauren Filer as she gets wide of the crease and beats the cut shot of Annabel Sutherland. That was quick, and close to finding the edge.

Plenty of encouragement from Amy Jones behind the stumps.

One side of the ball has got lump on the side of it, a bit like when you get a bump on it. Kate Cross asks umpire Anna Harris, but she tells Cross to get on with it.

  15. Aus 351-7published at 93 overs

Kate Cross is not entirely happy with the ball and hands it to umpire Anna Harris for the cursory check. Harris puts it through her ball gauges without any issues, and offers a 'nice try' smirk.

Just one run off the over. This partnership is worth 36 runs so far.

I wonder what the stats are for the nervous 190s? Remember Michael Vaughan fell twice in the same series against India, fitting for a man whose shirt number was 99!

Come stumps, this may well still be shot of the day... You can see why Annabel Sutherland is being spoken of in such reverential terms.

  18. Aus 350-7published at 92 overs

Lauren Filer is asking some questions of these two Australia batters. However, her second ball is a touch short and Alana King waspishly strikes it through mid-wicket to the boundary for another four.

England need to create some pressure.

Think we're firmly heading from elevenses to brunch territory at this time of day, Ffion. That cake looks an absolute work of art. How does it taste, though?
